Great dress for formal black tie event
This dress worked great for a formal black tie wedding in the Fall. The illusion halter neckline made it feel a bit more appropriate for wearing in a church and in the Fall while still being fun and sheer. All you need are some nice earrings to accessorize. The dress is very fitted with boning so it does not stretch at all. I liked the fit though to hold everything in. I could have gone without a bra but ended up liking it with strapless bra spanx to feel like everything was really smooth and held together. Length was perfect with 3" heels (I'm 5'8") with toes peeping out of the front and a little train in back. Compared to other dresses of the same brand though this one runs long. I had also ordered two other dresses by the same designer in both L and R length and the R in both styles were too short. I would say this one is great for taller ladies. Got a lot of compliments and would rent again.

Good simple dress but not remarkable.
Fit was true to size and the length of the long worked for me to wear with heels (I'm 5'8"). Ultimately I did not end up wearing it as I liked a slightly fancier backup dress I'd ordered better for the Fall wedding I was attending that was black tie. I would consider renting this for another event though. Note that it is rather fitted along torso and midsection but spanx can do wonders. Also works to wear a strapless bra with it. Dress is fully lined which helps it falls in a manner that is more smoothing.

Too matronly and short
The dress looked great in review photos, but on me the top layer just came across as matronly. Also, even though this was an 8L, it was way to short for me with anything other than flats. I question whether I was really sent an 8L as the backup 10R was actually a touch longer than the 8L. Overall, if you are looking for something conservative with a forgiving fit, this dress is a good one, but pass on it if you are tall.

Pretty dress but too short
The dress was very pretty. Nice quality and beautiful embroidery. Unfortunately it was just too short for me. I’m 5’8” and based on other reviews thought the length would work. On me it hit mid to upper thigh and there was no way I could wear with heels. I tried with low heels as well but it just felt inappropriate to wear to my husbands work Christmas party. Would be great on someone more petite or looking for shorter length. The tulle underlay also made the skirt quite puffy which I think contributed to feeling extra short.

Cute dress but seemed small
Pros were pretty fabric and lined. Cons were that it ran small in my usual size. Too tight and short without sizing up. Would have had to figure out how to make front stay with tape or pin as it gaped and showed my bra. Just couldn't make it work so sent back without wearing.

Cute dress for someone else
Very pretty color but it seemed to run small in my usual size. I would have needed to size up to actually wear it. I think it would be most flattering on someone with a tan too as the cutouts on the torso seemed highlighted due to my pale skin. Cute dress but just didn't work for me.

Strange design issue with back
I wanted to love this dress. The colors and fabric were beautiful and it was a nice lightweight fabric with lining. Unfortunately the back of the dress above where it was gathered near where your bra is puffed out so strangely on me that the dress was unwearable. I looked like I had a hunchback. Too bad as the dress was so pretty otherwise.

Great day to night dress for vacation in warm climates!
Great day dress with flat sandals that could be paired with wedges for casual night as well. Dress was a very light cotton that was easy breezy for walking around and touring all day. Nice navy color and pretty eyelet/lace detail on skirt. Not form fitting at all but well tailored and felt put together and much more attractive than shorts and a top. Dress fit my B cup busy well but I think larger cup sizes may want to size up as the fabric does not have any stretch.

Great dress to transition from work to dinner out
Office appropriate style but a little on short side so I wore with flats and a cardigan and then paired with low heels for dinner out. DVF so far seems to be consistently TTS for me. Nice tailoring. Fabric was a bit heavy but worked for what I needed. A little tight in bodice but not so much that I was uncomfortable wearing it.

Versatile date dress
Dress ran true to size but was a bit short for me to wear in an office environment (5'8" for reference). It was perfect with low heels for a dinner date at a nice restaurant. Although short, I felt like the looser style of the dress kept it tasteful. The heavier fabric would've felt too heavy for day wear but didn't wrinkle over the course of the evening. Think you could wear it to dinner, wedding, etc. dress up or down. Loved the print and lace detail on the back and sleeves. I wore a strapless bra but think you could get away with a regular bra too and the straps wouldn't be too noticeable.

Not a dress for dinner with in-laws
Pretty fabric but the only way I could have worn it out of the house was with tights as it is super short. It was also really tight in the waist and bodice while still gaping at the top of the chest. I should have paid more attention to others reviews about the sizing and length. I would definitely size up if you're ok with it being short. The bodice also had a strange ribbon detail on the front and back that I thought took away from the style. If you're pear shaped this would be very forgiving on the bottom as it does poof out quite a bit from the waist and fitted on top.

This dress was fantastic! I received compliments from complete strangers and felt great!
I tried on a 8R in the store and it was much too short to wear with heels. The 8L that I ordered was just floor skimming, perfect, with about 2" heels (I'm 5'8"). I loved that I was able to wear a normal black bra with the dress and the straps blended in. The dress was super flattering without any spanx required. I had to wear it to multiple awards ceremonies from around 11 am until 9 pm, so a really long day with a lot of sitting, and was very comfortable the whole time. The style of the dress felt very elegant and almost Great Gatsby. I paired with simple gold earrings and bracelet. No major jewelry required. By the end of the day, I did notice the sequins under my arms irritating my skin a little like other reviews mentioned, but not so much that it was really distracting. Had I been dancing or moving around more, it may have been more obvious. All in all, great dress and great rental experience!
