I actually really liked this dress, but never wore it. It is way too long and came to my ankles (I'm 5'6"). It is super comfortable, but my husband and kids hated it. They said it looked like a Halloween costume - like a black ghost. ;-) I might have worn it work one day if I didn't get such negative feedback from them! My husband said I might as well wear a tent. If you are taller than me, it might work for you! If it were shorter, I would have worn it. And I'd recommend sizing down. I tried the MR, but might try the SR to see if that looks any better.

I love this dress, and am very tempted to buy it from the Shoshanna website. It is so pretty and easy to wear, super comfortable, flattering, and the hemline is fun and unique. I loved this dress, and wish it was tea length like the model. I'm 5'6" and it practically came to my ankles, an awkward length. I ended up pinning the dress to make it tea length which was fine, I was just a little worried that the pins would either fall out or stab me! It is beautiful though and looks great in pictures. Huge pockets and a full skirt where you can hide all kinds of things - phone, sunglasses, keys. Really comfortable too - easy, looks great, and you aren't worried about sucking it in all night! I would rent it again.

This is a beautiful, flattering, forgiving dress, and I think it's highly under-rated! Yes, it's practically see through and you do have to wear a slip, but I don't think that's a deal breaker (although it's a bit surprising that the designer didn't line the dress). Definitely runs large. I'm usually a 6 or even 8, and easily fit into the 4. Length is also long. I'm 5'6" and wouldn't recommend this dress to anyone shorter than me - great dress for taller girls though! This is the dress to rent for when you want to look stylish and stand out, but still look conservative and appropriate. I'd rent it again, and would buy in a second if it ever shows up in a sample sale! Loved the color, draping, and fit!

This is one of my all time favorite rentals, and I can't remember ever getting so many compliments! Wore it to a college reunion, and I will say this is the perfect "reunion" dress. As soon as I get into the elevator of my hotel to go to my event, the other woman in the elevator complimented my dress and the compliments continued all night. It is a beautiful, flattering dress that is comfortable and easy, and the red color makes it a standout dress without being over the top. I was so sad to send it back, and looked for it everywhere, but couldn't find it anywhere in the US. Ended up ordering it online from Temperley London and I can think of a dozen other occasions to wear this dress.

With black dresses, I'm always concerned that I'll blend in too much, but this is definitely a stand out black dress. It is absolutely gorgeous, and I got a ton of compliments. Early on in the night, I snagged the bustle and it fell apart. Apologies to whoever rented this after me! I'm sure RTR fixed it up though before sending to anyone else. :-) I tried to safety pin the bustle back, but that fell out too so I ended up holding up that front part of the dress most of the night - really wasn't a big deal. Perfect rental too because this is a stand out dress that you likely wouldn't be able to wear again since everyone will remember it!

This might be my all time favorite rental. The pattern is just beautiful, and the fit is so flattering. My husband said I look hot, and he's not one to give out a lot of compliments. This is a dress you could wear to work for an important meeting, but also wear to a cocktail party. I wore it to church and to a family Christmas party. It didn't come with a belt as pictured, and I just wore it without - still looked fine. It is such a fabulous dress - I had to have it! It's from their 2011 line so you can't find it in stores anymore, but I managed to snag one NWT on ebay. LOVE this dress!

This was such a cute, fun dress! I LOVE the pattern and it looks great in pictures. It's a very thick fabric and the cut isn't an empire waist, but is higher than your waist line so I guess it makes your waist look a bit slimmer. I thought it looked great from the front, but the back was less flattering and I think it made my behind look huge! But, still, very cute and I liked it. Just not as flattering as I had hoped from the back.

Totally did not expect to like this dress. I just needed a winter white dress with sleeves for an event, and certainly wasn't going to buy something I'd only wear once. Turns out the reviews are all right - this is a fabulous dress! Super flattering - I actually think it looks better on all the girls that posted pics than the model shown, easy, comfortable, tons of compliments. Kind of wish I could keep it. Downside is that it's white and shows stains easily. The size 6 I received clearly had a large red wine stain on the front that they had tried to remove, but the splotch was still evident. I ended up wearing it anyway (not sure what that says about me :-) as it was a much better fit than the larger size 8 I got as a back up.

I've rented at least 2 dozen dresses from RTR, and this is one of my all time favorites. This dress is stunning, and I got so many compliments all night long. I was at a black tie event with over 1000 people in attendance, and so many random people that I didn't know came up to me to compliment me on the dress. It is beautiful, unique and makes you feel like a goddess. It also looks really expensive, and I'm surprised the retail is only $598. It is much nicer than other RTR dresses I've worn that retail in the $1-2K range. Definitely had to wear Spanx and suck it in as the lace overlay wasn't ruched and as flattering as I had hoped. I'm a 34C and I feel like it kind of flattens out your bust too, not super flattering there, and is probably a bigger issue for women with larger busts. Nice, long length and after a few photo ops, I actually changed into much more comfortable shoes as the dress is to the floor and hides your shoes anyway. And it was new with tags so I was the lucky one to wear it for the first time! :-) I also have to note RTR's PHENOMENAL customer service. I needed this dress the weekend after Hurricane Sandy, and didn't think I'd receive it in time since they had to shut down operations earlier in the week. RTR sent it out overnight Wednesday night and it arrived Thursday morning on my scheduled arrival time!

I rented two dresses for a black tie event, and went back and forth up until the final minutes, but ultimately wore the other dress. I did love this dress though, and it is amazingly flattering. Makes your waist look tiny and the ruffles hide any other flaws. I'm a 34C and there was still quite a bit of room at the bust, but it looked fine. The neckline is very flattering too. If you're 5'6" and up, you might want to consider the L length. I ordered an R and it would have worked fine, but my toes were peeking out a bit.

This is a beautiful, high quality wrap dress and the lace overlay is thick with a lot of texture. It is a true wrap dress and very flattering to the bust and waist, but I felt like it didn't flatter my hips so I didn't wear it. It was a bit too short for me as well. Loved the color though, and my husband thought the dress was hot for a date night, but it wasn't really appropriate for the event I needed it for.

This is a beautiful dress that is very flattering at the waistline, but way too long. I'm 5'6" and even the size small hit well past my knees. That just gave it a much more conservative look that I wanted (and I'm usually okay with conservative - this was over the top even for me). If you're maybe 5'8" and taller, it would look great, but unless you're looking for a longer length conservative dress, you might be better off with another option. I sent it back for a refund, which RTR promptly provided. Their customer service is unbeatable!

This dress is awesome! Super cute, no zippers, tons of stretch, flattering, comfortable, full of color, and low rental price. I rented it on a whim to try it out for our anniversary date, and will likely rent again for a party. I usually wear Spanx, suck it in all night, and barely eat the day of an event so that my stomach won't stick out. You don't have to do any of that with this dress. Eat all you want, skip the Spanx, and you'll still look good. The back is cute too so this is a great dress for an event where you'll be on the move and people will see you from all different angles. I rented a 6 and and 8, and even the 6 was a little big (but looked fine since there's so much stretch). I'd recommend sizing down for your back up size. And if you are pregnant, I think this would be a great bump friendly dress BUT will look just as great if you're not pregnant. A little tricky hiding a strapless bra since the back does cut low in some parts - might be more challenging for bustier women.

I love this dress! I had surgery about a week before a party, was very bloated from it, and just felt fat. I needed an easy dress that I could comfortably wear without Spanx that would still be flattering, and this dress fit the bill. It is so comfortable, and the large elastic waist band is very flattering and slimming. It is a beautiful dress that is a bit long. I'm 5'6" and wore 4 inch heels, and my heel still kept getting stuck under the dress. Runs a little large too. I usually wear a size 6, and I think the size small would have been perfect, but since I was feeling heavy from my surgery, I went ahead and just ordered the medium which was still fine. Wish I could keep this one!

I rented this dress as a back up and ended up wearing my other rental. I usually wear a size 6, and rented the 6 L. I'm a 34C and it was too big on top, even with a padded strapless bra. The 4 might have fit better, but I only have the one size so I can't say if the 4 might have been too small around the waist. The L is definitely too long. I'm 5'6" and even with 4 inch heels, it was too long. It is a beautiful dress though if you can find the right size/fit!

I'm torn on how to review this dress. It is a beautiful dress and I love the print. It photographs really well and if it cost less to rent, I'd be tempted to rent it again for family pics. Be warned that it's long. I'm 5'6" and it hit right below my knee - wish it was a little bit shorter. I'm a size 6 and wore a 42 - worked fine, but was a little big and I wish I had sized down for my back up. The gathering at the waist is very pretty as well as flattering. I rented it for a casual cocktail party, and ended up wearing another dress as I didn't think this dress was formal enough for my event. Didn't want this dress to go to waste though so I wore it to a much more casual event the day before. Here's the downside. I think $175 is way too much to spend to rent a dress for a very casual event, and you could buy a dress for that price or less. It's absolutely a beautiful dress, but I don't think it's worth the rental price. In my case, I rented another $175 dress for a black tie event and got this for $25 as my back up. Thankfully, it was a busy event week and I was always to wear both, but I doubt I'd ever pay $175 to rent this one on its own.

I LOVE this dress! I tried it on as soon as it arrived (new with tags!), and didn't want to take it off. There is a chiffon insert on both sides of the slit, so you really can't see the slit unless you purposefully stick your leg out like Angelina Jolie. I wore it with a normal strapless bra. I'm 5'6" and wore the L with 4 inch heels. It was definitely too long, and I kept getting my heels stuck in the dress all night. If you're around my height, I'd go with the R length. Wore it to a black tie charity event and got a ton of compliments. RTR never disappoints!

I've noticed this dress on RTR before and thought it looked super cute. I rented it for a friend's casual birthday party, and got a ton of compliments. It is very comfortable and has an easy fit. I actually didn't think it was that flattering though at the waist. If you do have a smaller waist, it doesn't necessarily show it off and you'd be better off with a dress with a more fitted waist. If you don't have a waist, then it might be more flattering. Hits at mid thigh so it shows off your legs.

I rented this dress for a black tie Mardi Gras themed party and loved it! It looked just like it looks on the model. I normally wear a size 6 and wore the 40R. It was a little big, but worked just fine. I think the 38R would have been perfect, so this dress runs a little large. I'm 5'6", wore a 4 inch heel, and the R length was perfect - L would have been way too long for my height. It is such a beautiful dress with a unique print, and I got compliments all night long. The ruffles are very flattering and have a slimming effect, especially if you are trying to hide any tummy flaws. And I totally agree with the other reviewer that you can eat whatever you want at the event and still feel very comfortable in this dress. My husband loved it and I was sad to send it back!

I wore this dress to a black tie event, and loved it! It definitely runs short, so keep that in mind when ordering. I am 5'6" and ordered a 6R and 8R. The 6R fit just fine, but I ended up wearing the 8R just for the added length. It's very stretchy, so the larger size also fit well, but if I were to rent again, I'd try to 6L. Is is very flattering too and helped hide my not so flat stomach. You don't need a bra with this dress, but I wore a strapless one anyway just for comfort as the sequins do rub against your chest. It is a beautiful, glamorous dress and I'm already debating whether or not to rent it again for another event (vs. trying a new dress!). Oh, and the dress arrived TWO days early! This is a super cute dress, but was a bit shorter than I had expected. On the model, it hit right about her knee, but it was closer to mid thigh on me (and I'm 5'6"). I'm 37 so the length didn't feel age appropriate for me (but I wore it anyway :-), but would look fabulous on younger girls. The color is an orange red, and it has a flattering fit. I love the draping on the back! Very pretty, and I got a ton of compliments all night long. I wore this dress to an end of summer outdoor party, and the red color really made me stand out. I love this dress and wish I could keep it! It is beautiful with subtle sparkly beading all over the dress. It hits just above the knee so the length is on the conservative side (which is good depending on the occasion). I wore it to a charity luncheon and got a ton of compliments. I usually wear a size 6 and ended up wearing the 8 so the fit is slightly on the smaller side. It is stretchy, very comfortable, and super flattering - especially if you are trying to conceal midsection flaws. I'm keeping an eye on this dress and hope they "retire" it soon so I can buy it! The asymmetrical pattern really slims your waist, and the dress is very flattering. The fabric is very textured and just beautiful. I fluctuate between a 6 and an 8, and both sizes were unavailable for my event so I took a risk and went with the 4 and 10 which were too small and too big.
