Loved the dress but it was very very tight, i had to go and change after dinner because it was difficult for me to breath. A size 6 would’ve worked perfect 

I absolutely loved this dress, it fit like a glove, worked for my petite body and received lots of compliments. I want to eventually purchase it because it’s so perfect. True to size as well. 

Such a cool dress! The zipper kept coming down, so I had to secure it with a safety pin, but I got so many compliments! 

Loved this dress.  Great fit, tight waist, flowing skirt WITH POCKETSSSSSSS!  This dress is beautifully unique, a must.

This dress definitely runs small. I'm usually a 0 and had to wear a 4. The design is so intricate and interesting. I wore this to my birthday dinner and to the ballet and received many compliments from strangers! The material is thick and a bit heavy. Would rent again! 

Rented 8R but my boobs take too much space and showed the boob skin. Interesting structured dress. Unfortunately did not fit.

This dress is a show stopper. I received complimentsLove the self portrait line, never disappoints. This dress is not only comfortable but it's unique and so flattering. It feels very couture, structured and substantial. It runs a little small so if you're in between sizes, size up.  It's also a little short (The interior lining) but you can easily add a beautiful black slip underneath to create another layer like I did, and it looked perfect. I love this dress so much that I'm going to buy it. 

Other reviews said the dress runs small so one size up from my usual US 2 to a US 4 worked perfectly. Don't expect to raise your arms up above your head in this dress! 

It's in the details. This dress is elegant, sexy, and unique. I got many compliments on how beautiful this dress was. 


This dress is a true piece of art! The construction is so perfect, the size is the exact dimension, if you are not petite on top, size up! It fits like a corset, by design, so you don't need any "support" underneath to showcase the true beauty of the cross-stitch design! Truly stunning dress, but size up for your backup size!

I knew to size up in Self Portrait, one size usually works out beautifully. This dress is fun, a bit edgy and sophisticated. Loved having pockets. Would rent this dress again. 

This is my favorite rental so far. Structurally beautiful. Gorgeous fabric and tailoring. Looks and feels expensive. I might keep it. 

This dress was great. Like most the other reviews said, it did run small so I went with the 6 even though I am normally a 4. The 6 fit perfectly. A little tough to throw your hands in the air like you just don't care on the dance floor but I made it work. Would love to wear it again. 

I'm not sure I've ever received so many compliments on anything I've worn. I had to go up a size, but it was so with a second rental. 

Loved this dress! Super classy but sexy. And very unique! It definitely runs small. I'm usually a 2 or 4 but I wore the 6. The top and arms were a little roomy but the bodice area is super tight. The skirt underneath is very short as well. I didn't wear anything underneath and when I was sitting it rode up a lot. But all in all this dress worked out! Loved it!

I typically wear a 4 and wore a 6R in this dress based on other reviews. The 6 fit perfect. I ended up getting engaged the night I wore this dress, so I might be biased, but this dress is magical. Super classy and elegant, with the right amount of sexy.

Note: it is tight in the rib cage. It wasn't entirely uncomfortable, but if you like a loose fit, you may not love it.

Beautiful dress. I'm happy I read the suggestions on sizing because it definitely runs a couple sizes too big. I think the smaller size would have restricted movement in my arms.

This dress was gorgeous! No need for a bra (which is rare for me!) The dress doesn't have much stretch, but it held everything in perfectly. And it has pockets! I got so many compliments! 

While the dress was a bit snug, it was a huge confidence boost! So beautiful and well-made. It even had pockets! I picked it as a guest for a bachelorette party because it was sophisticated, interesting, and most importantly didn't pull too much attention away from the bride. Size up and dance the night away! 

Special, flattering, funky, but still beautiful. Loved this so much. Only negative is that the dress isn't constructed properly around the shoulders/upper arms and back.. there is very little room for movement 


I originally rented this as a backup in July. I would have worn it then but it was slightly too tight. I had another event pop up and i knew right away I would rent this again! I rented the size 2 and 4 and ended up wearing the 4. It was a perfect fit except for my broad shoulders. I really couldn't raise my arms over my head but could still move and dance. Received complements all night about how unique and stunning the dress was!

I loved this dress. It's the perfect combination of sophisticated with a hint of sexiness because of the underlay. It's not the most comfortable dress , as it's hard to raise your arms and a bit scratchy, but all in all I loved it. I would sure or size up. I'm usually a two but after reading the reviews, I ordered a four and it fit perfectly. 

I rented this dress for my husband's 40th Birthday party. The dress arrived well in time. Everything about this dress was fantastic. The fabric, the colors, the fit and the style. I got so many compliments.

This dress is gorgeous! I got so many compliments throughout the night. It's all about the details with this one.  I'm usually a 2, sometimes 4, but i was a 4 in this dress. It was a very tight squeeze, but it contoured my body nicely and kept everything tight. 

Very very tight.  The seam started undoing and it seams like someone restitched it once before on the chest line.  Get 2 sizes up from your normal size

Gorgeous dress. Loved it SO much. Loved all the different textures/materials/details. Perfect dress for a early spring/late winter wedding at the Art Institute in Chicago. Need to size up 2 dress sizes. Typically a size 2(ish) in dress and had to bump to a 6. Love this designer so much. Unique and different. Dress is elegant and a bit sexy w/ the cutouts. 

I rented this for a charity dinner with cocktail dress code, but didn't end up going, so never wore the dress. I will definitely re t it again though, it's stunning and the fabric is heavy and feels expensive. It fits like a glove and is sexy but modest at the same time. Just one note- it's hard (for me- impossible) to zip up alone so I recommend single ladies ask a friend to join them while they're getting ready! It also definitely runs small, in between 4 and 6, rented the 6, and could have sized up. 

I absolutely loved this dress! I'm so happy I finally got a chance to wear it. I had ordered it previously in my normal size 4, but couldn't zip it up around my bust. I'm so glad the size 6 worked. This was such a fun dress for my husband's birthday party. It was a perfect blend of sexy and conservative with the peekaboo lace.

Loved the look of this dress. If you want to receive compliments all day/night, get this dress! It's a showstopper.

I wore this dress to a formal company party and although I absolutely loved the look (and must admit, I enjoyed the compliments too -- quite a few of my coworkers recognized it or sought me out to ask about it), I could barely move my arms. As beautiful as it is, I would avoid if you plan to be dancing!

It fits very small in the rib cage area which is usually never a problem for me so that was a little strange, but the dress itself is gorgeous! 

This dress was gorgeous on. Made for someone that is long and petite. I am 25, 122-125lbs and the size 4 was PERFECT. I normally am  2 or 4 in dresses but based off the reviews I got a 4 and a 6 for back up! So many questions as to where I bought the dress! I felt sexy, and elegant at the same time!
