I typically wear a size 4 but the 6 was snug. It also runs quite long, despite being "regular" it nearly grazed the floor even with heals. It's not the best for dancing as the style of the sleeve limits arm mobility but it was fun nonetheless and the skirt moves so well! 

I rented this dress for a formal ball and received many compliments. It fit a little tight through the rib cage, but other than that was pretty true to size. The length of the 2R was perfect with my 3 inch heels. The only slight issue that I had with the dress is that the cap sleeves do not allow you to raise your arms very much, but this did not really bother me throughout a night with lots of dancing. Overall I really loved this dress. 

The material and tailoring of this is dress are beautiful. It has a soft lining, but the sheer overlay at the shoulders and sleeves is slightly scratchy and tight (and I am a smaller size...). The asymmetrical flowing skirt is very flattering. I did not wear this dress because my original choice was so much more comfortable and beautiful.  The size 6 fit me well (I am 128 lbs with 34C). My normal size 4 would have been tighter, so I would advise sizing higher. 

Amazing dress that photographs well! I thought it would be too modest for my usual style but ended up looking so elegant! A lot of structure up top that forces you to sit up straight (maybe a little tiring after a long night), but keeps you looking good and not slumpy. Only complaint is that you can't really raise your arms higher than your shoulders due to the constricted nature of the of dress. 

Was super long. And I couldn't zip it up all the way 

I was actually working at my first gala and wanted something without too much sex appeal that looked professional. I think this dress did the trick! After reading the reviews I  purposely ordered a 6P and 8P so it would be a little shorter bc I knew I'd be running around and didn't want to trip over it. I wore the 8P as the bodice is pretty tight and I have a mommy tummy that's not super flat. Also, I didn't fill out the bust of the 8P, which is weird bc I'm a C cup so the fabric laid funny on my bust. If I had more time, a push-up strapless might have done the trick. The  dress also needed to be steamed when it arrived, which was a little disappointing. I got lots of compliments on this dress during the event. 

My picture doesn't really capture the beauty of the dress.  I just loved it.  As I described above, I felt like I was wearing a sophisticated princess style dress.  It flows beautifuly as you walk.  Has a hint of a train.  We were at a black tie event and I had so many people approach me just to say how much they liked the dress.  I proudly admitted it was from Rent the Runway.  The size was just right.  I usually wear a 4 but had lost a bit of weight, so I was 5'5" and 122 pounds.  I highly recommend this dress for its originality and beauty. 

I wore this to a Casablanca themed gala. I received tons of compliments. The dress accentuates your waist and gracefully falls out. Lovely and timeless 

Fit is amazing!! The dress is long and I'm tall so if you're 5/8" and above it's perfect . So many compliments 

I'm 5'10 so I got the long and it was perfect with heels. I absolutely loved how it looked in person. I also felt comfortable dancing and didn't worry. Great dress!

I loved this dress. Elegant and appropriate for my son's outdoor wedding. The inner dress is made of satin and on me it was too big on top. I added straps and a bit of dress tape and it worked great. I also added a navy, grosgrain belt. The length was perfect in 2" heels. Would recommend this dress.

True to size, conservative but fun, and very comfortable. Travels well, also. Ps the blue shawl was at the request of the gala for a pop of cobalt blue...

The color is darker in real life, and the bust fit well, and it was so beautiful and comfortable. The height was perfect with tall heels. I'm 5'3" and a 34D.

Petite might be better for those under 5'4'', otherwise the hemline may sweep the ground without high heels

Fit is true to size. The dress is light as air and I danced all night. Comfortable and easy yet so elegant. I received many compliments on it. 

I am 5'1.5'' and 150 lbs, and I have a pear shaped body, so the top of the dress was a bit looser for me (though it still looked great overall), and the waist line down fit just right. I wore 3 inch-ish heels and the length wasn't too long at all, which is usually a problem for me with long dresses. The material is so great and didn't need any ironing even though I had folded it up in a suitcase - major pro in my book! It flows very well and looks very elegant. The color is like a grey-ish navy blue with little pops of purple in it - it's gorgeous!

This dress definitely comes small. I sized up and still had an issue with the middle seam being too tight. I also have slightly broad shoulders and my normal size was way too small. The length also varies greatly by size. The 4P was shorter (didn't touch the ground with no heels) and the 6P was long even though I wore 4" heels. It's very lightweight, easy to move around in, and very elegant. The color is much darker and more grey than it suggests online. 

I had high expectations for this dress to be worn for a black tie wedding in Banff. Fit fine and I felt pretty, but not one of my favorite RTR's of all time. Was a shiny in pictures and uncomforable fabric. A "like", not a "love"

This dress is so gorgeous. Based on reviews I planned to order up a size and get a 6 rather than 4 but the only size available was 6P. I'm 5'3" so a petite size can work for me however all the proportions in this dress, I felt, were smaller than a typical 6, not just the length. It felt most confining across the shoulders and rib cage, limiting the range of motion in my arms, but my abdomen felt comfortable thanks to the remote waist. I'd say the length was probably on the short side too, I think I would have fit in a 6R better. This wasn't the right dress for my event but it's so pretty I had to give it 4 stars anyway!

This dress fit perfect. I wore 3 inch heels and didn't have any problems with the length. The top is pretty. Overall the dress is darker and not as striking in person as it is in the picture but I still enjoyed wearing it. As others have noted it is not possible to lift your arms above your head but I wore it to a wedding and danced all night without problem. 

Rented this dress for our engagement shoot and I felt like a princess! The 2 fit perfectly, but the bust was a little bit loose. Since it was loose, the peaked seams on the chest made it look like I had super pointy nipples. I had to wear a push-up bra and inserts to fill out the chest are and minimize the poke-age! I also told my photographer to try and hide the pointyness... hahaha. It flowed very nicely and was pretty comfortable and the color comes out nicely. Overall, a great dress, just watch out for those pointy chest seams!

Got so many compliments on this beautiful dress. The picture doesn't even do it justice. It was so light and flowy. Dress was true to size. I probably could have gone petite instead of regular as I am only 5'3".

Great dress, it's not too heavy, it is playfully conservative (for a military ball) and flattering. I usually wear a 6 dress but ordered the 8 as designer styles tend to run small. This one does not. There was room in the waist, TONS in the back (I had to pin it) and even with 5i heals on (i'm 5'5") it was still too long. The P may have been too short though. Other than that, it was beautiful and fun to wear.

Fit: Perfect Fit. It ran long because there was no 0P, but because I wore 5" heels, it was fine. It still ran a little long, but I liked it.
Detail: This dress has a dark purple hue to it. It also has silver designs. It looks prettier in person.
*I ordered a backup, but didn't even try it on. This dress was perfect and I wish I could afford the retail price. I would wear this to every wedding if I could. Would rent from here again.

CONS: 1) There really is no "give" in the rib cage area of the dress. Wasn't a deal breaker just felt a bit more "snug" than I would have preferred. 2) The dress was a tiny bit too long...even with 3" heels and having ordered the regular length. Just had to be aware all evening of not stepping on the hem. Again, not a deal breaker; just an inconvenience.
PROS: 1) The dress is beautiful!! 2) It has a great "flow" to it. 3) I got soooooo many compliments on it! Thank you, Rent The Runway!

This was my first RTR experience and it was so wonderful, I am definitely renting again. This dress was beautiful - much lighter than it looks, and flowed well. I am not well-endowed so the top was a bit big on me but if I owned a padded bra that probably would have helped. It was also quite long - I am 5'7" and wore small heels, but was still tripping over the dress when I went up and down stairs. Overall though - from order, shipping and returning - this was such a seamless process and I will most definitely rent again! 

I ordered this dress in a 10L and 12R. My waistline is short, my legs are long and my bustline is small. I found the 10L to be mostly perfect in the bust and length, but a tad too tight in the waist. The event I attended was a formal dinner with a cocktail beforehand, so I chose comfort over fit: 12R. I ended up tacking in the (very roomy) bust of the 12R and wearing flats. I was comfortable and received tons of compliments all evening! You can see in the photo that the length of the under dress is a bit short on me but the overskirt fits perfectly. I honestly for my height and leg length would have gone with the Long even though the overskirt would for sure be on the ground. It flowed nicely and wouldn't have been a problem. Definitely make time for steaming/ironing this dress! Overall, I absolutely LOVED it and would for sure order again!

Beautiful layering. The braline was a little tight where the seam meats but Lita of room for my 32DD with a bush up strapless. Arms were not forgiving to lift straight up. Not giving material. Very long. Short wasn't available. Had to wear 4 in heels. Lots of compliments. 

This dress was beautiful! Photo doesn't do it justice but the colors and weight of the fabric were lovely. I sized up after reading reviews and didn't regret it. Normally an 8 but rented a 10 and it fit perfectly. Stunning dress!

I got so many complements on this dress! I wore it to a black tie optional wedding, and it was perfect for the level of formality. The 4R fit perfectly, but if the 4L had been available I would have preferred that extra length with my 2 inch heels on. The bottom front of the dress showed some signs of wear and had a small hole in it, although the pattern of the dress hid it well. Make sure you have time to steam the dress when you receive it, it was pretty wrinkled when I took it out of the bag. 

The dress was absolutely gorgeous and photographs beautifully! Overall the fit was very good, but the bust was a little loose (I am a 30A though) and it was a little difficult to raise my arms very high. I am 5'8" and I wore flats and the 0R was perfect! The dress was way lighter than I expected which was a pleasant surprise, and the way it flowed was FANTASTIC!! It is very unique, and it definitely looks better in person. I received so many compliments all night and would definitely recommend this dress!

Dress was great! I'm 5'8" and bounce between a size 6 and 10 and so I ordered the 8L and it worked out perfectly. Maybe a tad on the slightly too big side, but since I belted the dress I had no problems whatsoever. Probably could have done an 8R, but I wanted to be sure the dress would cover my 4" heels and it did plus a little extra. It was easy to dance in, easy to accessorize, and I got a ton of compliments! 

This was an overnighted dress since my original two ordered were 10 regulars and the proportions didn't fit me up top. This was a nice dress, a little snug in the midsection but as an apple shape that's pretty much expected. Received lots of compliments all night, and at 5"4 I was able to wear flats with the dress so the comfy factor was a plus. Unless you're super short, if you want to wear heels I would order a long instead of a regular.

Perfect in EVERY SINGLE way. Lightweight, flowy, comfortable, gorgeous.

I wore this for a prom-themed work event; this dress was absolutely perfect. I wore my backup, the 2R and i just fit exactly (one extra Italian meal and it may have been another story). 
- The arms are a little snug, but unless you want to dance to YMCA you should be fine, it wasn't uncomfortable
- No problem with the bust, didn't wear a bra 
-  The train is a little long so watch your heels
- The color is slightly darker than the model pictures
- The zipper does get stuck, but if you use a pencil eraser (trick from the RTR store), erase both sides of the zipper that should do the trick

I'm looking forward for another opportunity to rent this one! 

This was my back up I didn't end up wearing it but that was only because more people were going less formal. My husband said this was his fav - but don't judge it by the hanger - only reason I rented was because of the reviews. They are all true. The busy is tight but other than that this dress is a BEAUTY!! SO classy. I am 5'6" and would have worn 4" heels and it would have been perfect!!

Although this isn't the original dress I picked for my event, this one was available. I was skeptical about wearing it to a black tie event, but in person the color is beautiful and the dress has a shiny look! I usually wear a 4 in dresses, but I sized up for this one per the reviews and I am really glad I did. I felt like a princess! The dress was flowy and light. The only thing I didn't really like was that the fabric on this dress is extremely delicate, and I was terrified all night that someone would step on the dress.

In general the fit was great. Very light and flawless dress. The length was just right (my high 5"8). 
I was a bit restricted lifting my arms because it was a bit tight around my shoulders, but it did not stop me from having a great time dancing. 

What a fun dress! I received so many compliments and I loved how unique it was. It was so much fun for dancing, and was perfect for the military ball I attended. I wore the 6L and the fit was just right, though it was hard to lift my arms too high, and sometimes it was easy to get caught up while walking. My backup 8L dress was way too long, and I was wearing 2 inch heels. I felt like a princess! I loved it.

What a beautiful dress for a formal affair! I'm 5'5" and it was perfect length with 3" heels.  I got compliments all evening.  However, larger busts beware - there's a finite amount of room up there.  I was forced into a bit of a slouch all night.  Not overly uncomfortable or debilitating by any means, but constricting.
