I wore this for a black tie gala and got unsolicited complements from strangers. This dress is beautifully made and has stunning details. I would love to wear this gown again.
If you have a small chest, I would size down for your backup size. I probably could have used a 0 but the 2 worked out fine. Wore an backless adhesive cup bra for some extra shape and support. A strapless bra won't work with this dress.

This dress (10L) DOES NOT HAVE POCKETS!! Big bummer as it was a major selling point for me. Also 10L zipper is EXTREMELY hard to zip as noted in other reviews. Zipper is not damaged and dress is not too snug- just a difficult zip! Fit was perfect and loved the extra length from Long option. Rental price was more than I wanted to spend, but it wasa gorgeous gown and the only size left was my perfect size so I took it as a sign. Big score!

Wore this for a black tie wedding. It was extremely comfortable, quality material and received numerous compliments. Highly recommend! 

This dress was incredible! It fit very well and was super comfortable, and very well made. I wore it to an awards ceremony my mother in law was being honored at and received loads of compliments. It also has pockets which was awesome! It is a little tight in the bust so for my fellow bustier ladies I recommend sizing up, or getting a back up size just in case! Customer service cold have been better - I was notified only 4 days before my event that my back up size was all of a sudden unavailable and was left either very few other options which was stressful. Thankfully my first size selection ended up working out. Overall gorgeous gown, I highly recommend it!

My original choice wasnt available. Ended up liking this one even more! I didnt need the long, it qas all that was available but was fine with heels. Comfortable, beautiful, and got compliments all night.  One of my favorite rentals so far. RTR never disappoints, i havent purchased a dress in years!

I received so many compliments on this dress - it was a standout gown in a formal event. I would say if you are busty it might not fit as nicely on the top - Its pretty snug in the bust but was perfect for me with a small B cup - didnt wear a bra with the dress. 

I wore this dress to a black tie wedding on NYE. It was a perfect mix of class, and fun! The material is heavy, almost drape-like. There is tulle that isn't visible from the models picture, but it gives the skirt a lot of volume. The tulle was a little tricky to navigate on the dance floor, but it was really pretty, I got lots of compliments and felt very comfortable all night. 
I am usually a 4/6 but after the holidays, I'm a 6 :) this was true to size. I'm small up top and didn't need a bra. I would definitely recommend this rental! 

Wore this for a diamond ball and it was perfect. Has a great fit foe my small frame and was functional (hello pockets!) ans has cute details that kept it claasy. Would rent again. 

I wore rhis for a black tie winter wedding and it was absolutely perfect. It was stunning and fit like a glove. I'm 5'6" and typically wear a size 2-4 and the 4 was perfect. I got complements all night and fet beautiful! 

The only con is the tulle would get caught on my stilettos from time to time when walking and especially when I had to go down a staircase.

The design of this dress was beautiful: the high-low full skirt is something a bit different, the illusion neckline means you need minimal jewelry to make the look sparkle. The bodice was fitted but true to size, and the full skirt meant plenty of room for hips. I agree with the sizing recommendations on length: I'm 5'8" and the long was perfect with 2.5" heels (longer than on the model, nearly floor length in the back). I was a bit disappointed that the dress I received looked very worn, with the black fabric visibly faded. There was some wrinkling in the skirt that was easily steamed out with a hotel iron.

True to size! I usually were a 4/6 but a 6 in dresses. The details on the top were gorgeous. Classic. So many compliments. Felt amazing! I want to do the monthly unlimited now. What an experience! 

I absolutely loved this dress! I needed one for an award ceremony and I felt like a princess the whole night. It was very comfortable and fit perfectly. The pockets were great! The only issue I had was from standing and sitting a lot. I was up and down a lot and would forget that the dress was long in the back and ended up stepping on it. 

I loved this dress, I rented for a gala and I felt like a princess, I got so many compliments! I was working the event and this dress has pockets, so that came in handy. I really liked the length of the dress on me and it fit perfectly! 

I rented this as a back up at the last minute from the flagship store and am so glad I did! Dress is stunning and I got tons of compliments. And I could dance the night away! It was a bit long because the store only had the 2L and I am 5'2" but I made it work. Highly recommend! 

Worn for my engagement shoot. I loved it! The front went down to my shin area, and the back was long like a gown. The top was shear. Absolutely beautiful! So glad I had this for the shoot! The material is strong and comfortable. Not stretchy.

I loved this dress and received so many compliments! I'm not exactly sure what my "true size" is as I have lost weight since last wearing a dress. And I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. But the 8R was a great fit for me. I'm 5'3", 135lbs, 34B. I'm not large busted and the 8 was a teeny right in the chest so someone with a larger bust may need to go up a size. The style of the dress being short in the front and long in the back was the perfect option for me since I'm on the shorter side, looked great in the front and was just a tad long in the back but looked like there was a small train so it was fine!

I rented it for a black-tie wedding and it did not disappoint! I originally ordered 8R and backup 6R. Something happened an my original (8R) was unable to ship, however, I spoke with a representative on the phone and she said with my height I could wear a long and she was right! It fit like a glove and was not too long with my heels. Thank you customer service!!!!
In terms of specifics, the zipper was difficult to get up from the skirt to the torso section of the dress because of the seam of the skirt. I was able to wear the dress without a bra, and this made the fit more comfortable around the ribcage, as the fabric does not have much give. 
I cannot say enough good things about this dress! I felt amazing all night! I was comfortable dancing, walking around during the cocktail hour, and sitting at the reception and dinner. I would definitely recommend this dress to anyone needing a dress for a formal event and who is wanting to look and feel fabulous!

Loved the pockets and felt chic and comfortable. Didn't have to starve myself leading up to the event as it just fits nicely for people that don't want to show a ton of skin. Very chic and comfortable, would recommend for sure.

RTR notified me the day before i was set to receive my dress that the 10L was damaged and they would send a backup. I asked them to send the 8L and it ended up working out even better than I had hoped--I would have wanted the 8. The dress accentuates your waist - for me thats a good thing -- and hides hips nicely. It has POCKETS. The long length was perfect for the 3.5 inch heels I selected, my dress just grazed the floor at times. I got so many compliments. LOVED LOVED LOVED.

This dress was stunning! I felt like I was floating on air all night. Very flattering on the bottom, and the beading on the top was intricate and beautiful. It fit me perfectly and felt like it was tailored for me. I'm 5'3" so the dress was longer on me compared to the model in the picture. I personally loved the length because it just barely swept the floor and made me look like I was gliding when I walked. I was so sad to have to send this one back.

I'm 5'7" and wore the 4L. With my 2" heels the back just skimmed the floor. I had to lift up the back to walk upstairs, but otherwise it was comfortable and not in the way. Easy to dance in.   By the end of the night the tulle around the arms was chafing, but not enough to be a bother.  
Dresses arrived in a bag, so have adequate time to steam and iron.  The double layer tulle underneath took about 1 hour to steam and iron.   I absolutely loved the pockets! And no one could tell. I had my flask, lipstick and mobile phone.  

The fit was great! I loved the dress and got complements all night! The pockets were amazing and were so handy. When I got the dress it was kind of wrinkled, so I got it steamed, but it wasn't that bad, I could have let it be if I didn't have time to do so. So it would have to be up to you if you would want to get it steamed depending on the dress. Overall, I had no complaints and would at anytime rent this dress again. 

This was my second choice dress, but I'm so so glad my first choice order fell through.  Loved the dress and was sad to send it back.  The top details are very dainty and pretty.  They are both gold and white, so a variety of shoes would match.  I wore gold sparkly ones.  Length is a little long even with 2 inch heels, but it just made it look more formal.   No bra needed.   Great that it has pockets.  My dress had a hole in one of the pockets, but I just put everything in the other one.  Material is thicker than it looks in picture.  Will be renting again soon!

I ordered a different dress for a black tie wedding and (fortunately) it never came due to the March 2017 snow storm. RTR thankfully sent me this gorgeous gown as a backup and I am so lucky they did. It is elegant and comfortable and I danced and ate and drank all night long with no issues!! The dress runs pretty true to size; the top (mesh part) fit me great (I am a large chest, 34DDD) so I was pleasantly surprised. I wish I had the 6L to try but RTR unfortunately didn't send it. The 8L, however, worked fine. I am 5'8" and the L was perfect length. For taller ladies who want to wear heels, the L is perfect. 

Doesn't matter, though - this dress was amazing. It also has pockets, which is so nice...and I got at least 10 compliments on the dress! I wish I could keep it forever. 

Wore this dress for a wedding and it was great! The only somewhat "downside" was that it's a little long in the back so the dance floor was a little harder to navigate haha overall, it was a great dress! 

It would be hard to recommend this dress too highly. It is sophisticated and fun, flattering, and (that rare element of women's fashion) practical - it didn't get uncomfortable as the night went on, and the pockets (which are excellently hidden in the folds of the dress, except when you're coolly putting your hands in them) are large enough to hold credit card/ID and lipstick without looking strange. The only difference from the picture is that the black color is slightly more faded in person. But, as I said, this dress is amazing and I recommend it 100%.

This dress was perfect for a gala. The high low hemline was perfect and the flow of the dress when walking and dancing was just magical. 

I wore this to the Oscars where I worked as a publicist on the red carpet. I knew I'd need a dress that was beautiful and formal while also being practical in some ways. With the rise in the front it made it very easy to walk quickly without worrying about tripping, and I put my essentials in the pockets so I could keep my hands free from holding a clutch. The skirt of the dress had a nice dramatic effect, and it photographs incredibly well. The zipper is very difficult to get up, but the overall fit was great. The beading could have been a little nicer, but it's overall a very beautiful dress!

I received so many compliments on this dress. Loved it!  The only complaint is that the sleeve holes are a bit tight. The sequins rub a bit. Overall great though!  

I rented the 10 and 12 R, and ended up wearing the 12 as the 10 was way to snug in the chest.  I would recommend sizing up for large chested gals.  The illusion details was gorgeous, and the dress was fun and swingy all night.  The only problem is that the tulle underneath the dress was a little unraveled, and hung down unevenly on one side.  I was able to pin it up with several safety pins.  This wasn't a huge issue and most likely due to the dress being worn so many times.  This is a fun dress and you will get so many compliments!

The fabric was heavy and the dress was very well made, but the zipper was extremely difficult to zip once on. I ended up slipping the dress over my head after many unsuccessful attempts at zipping it, even with 2 helpers! I got compliments all night, and felt like a million bucks in the dress! Short girls beware though, the back is LONG and will likely drag behind you making the dance floor a hazardous place to be. 

I loved this dress but I really needed the next size up. The 12 was an ok fit but was a little tight in the chest area. I couldn't wear a bra which was fine and no one noticed or really could tell. I'd rent this again just in the next size up because I received several compliments on how beautiful the dress was on me! I wore it with 3in heels and the length was perfect plus I bought my tory's to change into for the after party and the length was great! 

This dress was beautiful for a wedding I went to in Napa.  It was a little bit tight on the top and there was no stretch.  It barely zipped but it was too late to get a different size so I wore it anyway.  I got a ton of compliments and really loved the high low cut of the dress.  I would definitely recommend this dress.

I wore this dress to a formal graduation dinner/reception.  I really wanted to wear a ball gown, but it's hard finding a full length dress that doesn't need altered.  This high-low option was perfect for a short person! Pockets were functional and elegant so I didn't have to worry about carrying a clutch for phone/ID/lipstick.  I was told throughout the evening that I looked like I should be on a red carpet.  Really loved this dress and highly recommend for a formal event.

I loved the dress as it was elegant, comfortable, had pockets, loved the high-low... such a beautiful and fun dress! Many compliments.  I am busty (36 DD) and the 10R was tight on my bust. 


I wore this to a black tie NYE party and I got a ton of compliments!! The fit was slightly large in the straps and waist and overall it was too long. I had to carry the train just to walk and I see in other photos it's much shorter on other girls. The other two 0R dresses I ordered were the perfect length for me (I'm 5'3) so it was a bit odd but I wore it anyways because the top detailing and hi-lo skirt were so fun and different from most of the gowns I wear. Overall I would absolutely recommend RTR for a special occasion.

This is a beautiful gown! Fits a little tightly around the rib cage and is VERY difficult to zip so I would recommend sizing up. I'm on the shorter side and LOVED the high low detail for that reason. Did have some issue with others stepping on the back as it was very train-like on me. Would highly recommend, got a ton of compliments and it was unlike anything others were wearing!
