This dress looked much better in person than it does in pictures. The embroidery detail was pretty, but it doesn't show up in photos.

I wore this to a Broadway show in NYC and felt so classy and sophisticated! It was slightly large, but not nearly enough to not wear. And good thing, because this dress is just lovely. I would absolutely rent it again. Plus, POCKETS!!! :-)

I was looking for something conservative to fit just below the knees and this was it. This dress was very comfortable and I loved the thick material (however, the dress was not heavy). My only complaint would be that the straps were a bit long as you can tell in the photo. Overall this dress was great and I did not want to return it.

Loved the pockets and neckline on this dress. Skirt was a little poofy which made my hips look a bit bigger but not a deal breaker. 

Based on reviews, my back up dress was a size smaller.  I wound up wearing the smaller size.  The 8 fit, but it hung different than the 6 and hit a little lower on my legs, making me feel a little frumpy. The 6 looked great, but I could not wear a bra with the dress, so I wore some sticky cups for shape. The end result was still beautiful and I felt like a movie star all evening. I love the neckline of the dress, and the pockets are a fun touch. I liked that the fabric was more than just a solid black, the textured floral pattern added something different to the typical LBD. I would have preferred if the length was just above my knees rather just at them, but wearing heels helped and the length honestly kept the look more classic.

Got this for a black-tie wedding. I received so many compliments and suggestions to buy it. It was very comfortable, the material was very nice. It was definitely a dress I didn't want to take off. If I need a black, formal dress again...this will be my go-to.

The size was incredibly accurate. It was a little low cut, but I wore a chunky necklace to balance it. Love the pockets!!

I wore this to a hospital gala, and it was amazing! Super comfortable (hello, POCKETS!) and beautiful. I'm usually a 4 but I followed the other reviews and ordered the 2, and it fit perfectly. Highly recommended!! 

Loved how cute and fun this dress was. I wore it to take my engagement pictures and I felt great wearing it 

I wore this to a gala event at which I was volunteering. It's formal but not over the top, so probably good for a more casual wedding or a cocktail party. 

It's definitely a bit tight in the rib cage, as some other reviewers have mentioned. I'm small chested so I was worried about it not fitting well on top but it was perfect and I could even wear a bra with it. I went strapless because I felt like the dress straps, while thick, would move around a lot, but you could probably get away with it. It's best suited to someone who is pear shaped because it's tight on top and obviously loose on the bottom. 

The dress runs a bit big (I'm usually a 6, but wore the 4). It's low cut, but since I am small chested, it didn't make a big difference. I wore the dress with a fur mink and simple black heels. I saw some reviews that the straps fell down, but I wore a normal bra and used the built in clips to hold the straps...it stayed on perfectly. Loved the dress! 

Straps were a little loose but the fit was fantastic everywhere else!

There's nothing really plain about this dress. Its simplicity makes it a winner and a reliable knockout party dress. 

Beautiful dress, the material is full and luxurious--this dress is impeccably designed and it has pockets!! I want to own this dress. 

I wore this to host my work's holiday party, and had to manufacture a bust for this dress (which I'm realizing now everyone could see from these photos). I wish this dress came in a 00, because that would've been the perfect size! That being said, everyone kept saying what a great dress it was, and the pockets were a godsend, since I had to carry a walkie-talkie around. The back is low- low enough that I couldn't wear a traditional strapless bra- and the waist didn't come in as much as I would've liked, given that it was a size too big. I'm glad I ordered the zero, and would rent it again, but I'd make some changes given what I know now. 

I LOVE THIS DRESS!!! it was the perfect length for me. I'm 6'1" so it's hard to find shirt dresses that are not REALLY short on me. This hit right about my knee. It was a little tight on my boobs so if I rented it again I might go a size up because I'm not a fan of lots of cleavage. 

I absolutely loved this dress. Size zero fit like a glove and I felt so good in it. It is a bit low cut in the front but not too much. The straps are wide set so I wore a strapless bra with it and it worked perfectly. I loved the fullness of the skirt and of course the pockets! I would definitely rent it again!

Wore this to a wedding and it was an "Audrey Hepburn " moment.. Everyone complimented this dress and it was beautiful and comfortable too! And there was pockets! The size 8 fit perfectly ...

Absolutely loved this dress. It was super flattering. The only this about fit is that I have very slight shoulders, and the straps were way too big I hat to safety pin them. Otherwise the perfect dress! 

Perfect for a wedding. Classic black dress with an amazing cut for anyone's body!

The only note I would say is that it is a little long. On me it was just slightly past the knee, so you need open light colored shoes.

It fit well, slightly on the loose side. It is hard to see in the photos but the fabric is a black on black pattern, which I loved. The deck-line is really flattering and the cut accentuated my curves. It is the perfect classic cocktail dress. 

Does show a bit of cleavage if you have  bust. Didn't need a bra though.

I normally wear between a 4 and a 6, but the 4 was the only one available. Luckily it fit perfectly. I'm 5'4'' and the hem fell just below my knee. The bodice fit tight around my rib cage, but was a little loose in the bust area. My chest could have been bigger and still would have fit, though there would have been a LOT of cleavage. The only con to this dress is that the straps wanted to slip off of my narrow shoulders. There were little snaps under the straps to hook my bra straps to the dress straps which helped keep it up. I had to be sure though, that my breasts weren't showing from time to time as it is pretty low cut. The fabric is an embroidered floral print that looked great.  It was comfortable enough that I could eat and drink to my hearts content and wouldn't have to worry about my belly showing too much. Lots of compliments!

i loved this dress so much. although it was originally a backup dress for one that didn't end up fitting me, i'm so SO happy my original choice didn't end up working out. the subtle design on the fabric makes it a little more interesting than your normal black dress, but the deep v-neck, scoop back, and knee length keep it formal and classy. the length was perfect for my height and meant nothing was revealed when i was dancing all night. i really wish i could have kept this one!

True to size, need an adjustable bra, maybe some tape.  Low cut, wide back.

The picture is a little dark but believe me This was a perfect dress for a wedding. I will say the dress is a little low cut, so if this is for a work occasion reconsider if your bigger than a B cup.  The pockets we're perfect, And it was very flattering for my body shape, hid the belly.  I had a lot of compliments and my husband loved it. Overall rent this dress loved it and will do this again. I also rented the neckless and it was perfect for this dress 

The dress is nice. The material is higher quality. It ran small, particularly in the chest. Granted, I'm a 34D if not DD with a wide back. it requires a strapless bra otherwise you will see the bra in the back. It was too tight with my strapless bra so I wore it without a bra. It looked quite good for no bra, but not the ideal fit I was looking for. I did get lots of positive comments, however, particularly from the guys!

Fit very true to size. The only downfall was that it fit a bit loose in the chest (had to pull it up often through the night). But overall I thought it fit great. I got a lot of compliments and felt beautiful! 

This dress was so comfortable! I loved how it flowed and fitted. The chest was slightly deep for my comfort, but overall such a wonderful choice. The fact that it had pockets won me over. FYI...I thought I'd be able to get away with a regular bra, but the straps ended up showing in the back. Thanks to long hair, no one was able to notice.

I received a ton of compliments and felt very sophisticated in the dress. I felt self conscious about the roomy neckline.

I LOVED everything about this dress. It looks very plain and simple in the picture, but the material has a beautiful jacquard finish to it that really gives it that extra touch of elegance. I'm 5'4" and 120lbs. I'm smaller on top (32B/XS/0) but wider on my bottom half (S/2-4), so finding dresses that are flattering throughout can be tricky sometimes, but this was perfect. It fit so well up top (no extra padding needed) and the bottom was so airy and cute! Oh and the pockets were also a huge plus. If you're looking for a classic, clean look - I HIGHLY recommend this dress.

The only real con I had with this dress was the straps. They were a little tight on the bottom, yet a little loose on top. I made sure my shoulders were square all night to make sure they didn't try to fall down. Also, the hanger straps were a bit of a pain to hide. I would suggest fashion tape.

Basics: Read in the reviews it runs large, and so I ordered a 2, which I haven't worn in years. I'm normally a 4-6 in most dresses. It was a little tight around the bust, but the straps are great because i could push them a little off the shoulder and it didn't affect how the dress laid. And when I say tight, it wasn't uncomfortable or really hard to zip, and I could breathe just fine. 

Wore it as a bridesmaid, bc the bride wanted all the girls to choose their own very simple, knee-length, LBD. Received a ton of compliments because it was so flattering in the right places! The embroidery design and thicker material made it very forgiving, gave me the right amount of cleavage for confidence but not over-bearing, hid all my problem areas around the hips, and the pockets were perfect to carry tissues (who doesn't cry when their best friend gets married to the man of their dreams?!), my phone, and my lipstick. 

Would definitely rent again as a simple LBD. 

This is a really gorgeous dress (plus it has pockets!) and my only gripe is the fit wasn't great on me. The straps were really loose and they kept falling down until I pinned them to my bra straps. The fabric is gorgeous thicker brocade, so I would recommend this for events in cooler months (my own mistake wearing this to a June wedding).  I got compliments all night, especially on how good it made my cleavage look - ha! 

 I also had an issue with the straps being just a little too long but it didn't ruin the dress for me at all. I also used fashion tape on my cleavage to prevent any unforeseen mishaps, since the ladies were out in full force. The dress hit just at my knees which really worked great with the overall shape of the dress and the high heels I chose. I can't wait to rent my next dress!

I usually am nervous about renting dresses because of the length, but this dress was the perfect length. It hit just an inch or two above my knees. I will say the waist was still a bit higher than my natural waist but it's hard to fix that unless I get a larger size. The material is very flattering, it has a textured pattern which I couldn't really tell from the pictures. I wore a sticky bra with it, you might be able to get away with a regular bra but I felt like I would be fidgeting with it all day and the fit of the dress kept my sticky bra in place. I would absolutely rent this dress again, I was sad to send it back
