The color is stunning in person! Photos really don't do this dress justice! The sleeves didn't quite fit me, little loose, but the rest of the dress was snug in a good way! 

No bras needed. I usually wear xs but this was super comfortable and embraced my curves nicely. Not too tight you can't breathe but at the same time tight enough to keep everything in place. Loved it 

This fit like a glove. I wore it for a dressy bridal shower and then again for a fundraiser for a senator in Beverly Hills. The blue is very rich and a little deeper than it appeared in the RTR picture. Received tons of compliments and felt gorgeous :)

My favorite dress I've ever worn. And that's saying a lot because I've worn hundreds. Honestly I was worried about the size because you never know with something that runs S, M, or L but I read reviews of women who seemed to have similar body types to mine and the Medium was the perfect fit for me. I'm thin but I have an athletic body with a broad back, which helped me bc the straps were kindof hard to stay up. If you're smaller up top I would recommend using fashion tape to keep the shoulders in place. The color was absolutely stunning in person and pictures don't do it justice. I was getting asked all night where I got my dress and if people could borrow it from me. I'm very sad to have to return it! My experience with RTR keeps getting better. Going to be hard to top this one! 

I was expecting this dress to be right and uncomfortable, but it ended up being so soft and easy to move in! Very stretchy material and a stunning color. I do NOT recommend wearing any undergarments besides a strapless bra in this. I'll be very sad to send this one back! 

Sung fit dress I am in between a 2-6 I know strange. Mostly due to my hips being so big but my waist so small with this a sz small was perfect because you definitely want this dress to be sung ! I vote RENT RENT RENT this ! Unless you are an 8 or above I'd go for a small.

I typically always am very true to size when wearing Hervé as I wear a Medium.  This dress is absolutely stunning!  The color is bright and vibrant and I felt beautiful wearing it!  I received so many compliments all through the night and many more on social media.  I would  most definitely rent this dress again!  My boyfriend loved it and thought I looked so classy and sexy!  Everything about this dress was perfect!  Thank you so much Rent the Runway!!! 

I loved this dress and so did everyone else!  My only minor issue was that the cap,sleeves sat in a place on my shoulders that didn't quite work, as they were falling down often.  Note: I do have small shoulders.  Regardless, I would have kept this dress if I could have!  

I got so many compliments on my dress and I felt amazing in it! 

This dress was SOOOOOOOOOO incredible!!! First let me say, thank you to RTR for their amazing customer service. I originally rented another Herve, but it became unavailable due to certain circumstances. The woman I spoke with worked with me fabulously and got me this dress SUPER fast with ease and I am SO HAPPY she did. The color online doesn't even do it justice. The cobalt blue shade is simply stunning in person and really stood out in the crowd. The fit is super sexy!!!!! It hugged my body in all the right places and made me feel like a million bucks. I was getting compliments on the dress all night long. I normally wear a size 6 dress and the M was perfection. Hands down, my FAVORITE rental thus far. I didn't want to send it back!!! Rent this dress. You will NOT be disappointed, ladies. :)

Great, great dress.  A lovely, regal shade of blue and sexy, snug fit.  Wore with a strapless bra and the dress helped to give a nice extra lift.  Length was appropriate for a wedding, and I had no issues with the straps moving at all - stayed put without fashion tape or any additional support.  Danced all night long comfortably and felt fabulous.

wow you look amazing in that  dress. I cant believe you are 42, I am thinking about renting this dress for my 40th. I had to ask it says your a 34B , your boobs look huge in the picture! Does the dress help with that at all or did you have a great bra. Thanks so much you rreally look amazing that is one lucky guy in that picture 

Hi!  Thank you for your kind kind comments.  Do NOT second guess renting this dress… it's really stunning and as I said the pictures does not give it justice.  Oh... in no way are my boobs huge, the dress definitely help with that!  I did wear a strapless bra (VS)to help push them up and the dress is tight so with out one the dress pressed them flat.  Happy 40th!  

PS I am the lucky one… that guy is my husband for 17 years! Crazy!

Hi Eliz thanks for the feedback you really look amazing and I did go with this dress for my 40th birthday which is in  a week and a half, I had more question. I am concerned about Visible Panty lines, did you have to wear a thong with this dress? Or did even a thong leave a panty line?  Did you have any VPL issues? Thanks so much! The dress was absolutely amazing in every way!  The craftsmanship, the quality and dear lord the color!  I ordered the small and medium based on other reviews.  The small was much too tight for my liking.  The medium fit my body perfectly however the top and shoulders seemed a bit stretched out, nothing a bra and some fashion tape couldn't fix.
I wore this dress to a Gala event and felt classy and sexy.   I paired it with gold filagree earrings, red lipstick and of course Louboutins!

There was a small error with my order so I was able to pick a dress that RTR overnighted to me for my event. They ended up sending me this one and another so I wore one to the ceremony and one to the reception. RTR went above and beyond in my opinion. I loved this dress. It was sexy! I had no problems with the straps like others mentioned. Very happy with my first rental. 

This dress color is absolutely gorgeous in person. The cut is so flattering and I loved that the neckline shows "just enough" without going overboard. I  had no issue with the sleeves falling down as others mentioned. The hemline is a good length and didn't feel like a mini as some Herve's  can.  Absolutely my favorite rental yet!

Runs true to size but sucks you in - in the most perfect way. This dress is a show stopper.  I was sad to return this beauty.

The fit was excellent and I had no problem with the straps being loose in the size small. Being that I am tall, I was worried about the length of the dress but it was perfect, with the hem reaching just above my knees. It hugged me in all the right places and I received many compliments on it throughout the night.

i loved this dress! tight in all the right places without being over the top. As mentioned in other reviews the sleeves did occasionally slide down but i fixed that with fashion tape and it wasn't a problem. I did wear a bra with the dress - again fashion tape helped hide the straps. The material is thick and slightly stretchy - make sure you have the right underwear...panty lines show very easily!!! All in all this was a great dress for a more formal wedding. Sexy without being too short or too revealing. Thank you RTR! 

It is really heavy and was very HOT for a July wedding. Perfect for Spring/Fall. I agree the cap sleeves tend to fall down, but it keeps you in your best posture all night. 

I rented this dress for my 20 year class reunion.  It fit perfectly.  I ordered the small and medium as a back up.  I took a look at the small and didn't even bother to try it on.  It looked tiny, so I ended up wearing the medium, which was perfect.  The sleeves do tend to fall so I used fashion tape to keep them in place.  

This dress is incredibly tight.  I normally wear a dress size 4 and I couldn't even zip up the S.  The M was tight but not in an uncomfortable way.  I got tons of compliments.  It's easy to dress up or dress down for any occasion.  

This color looked amazing on my friend. I had this as a backup dress. It looked alright on me, but the color popped on her. It's stunning in person.

Very slimming once zipped. Love the quality. Beautiful color. A little too long  in the torso for me. Would def recommend  renting for any special occasion!!  Enjoy :) 

Wow, I loved this dress! I was originally going to rent another Herve (that cost a lot less) but RTR let me know it was damaged and they let me pick any other dress with no upcharge, which was great. I'm 5'3" 32DDD bust, size 6 top/size 8 bottom. It is very form fitting - I am not sure I could have worn any sort of Spanx or shapewear underneath, I would recommend a g-string underneath so that nothing shows. I didn't wear a bra either because the dress was tight enough to hold me in. I did use fashion tape to keep the shoulders from slipping and would definitely recommend doing that to keep it all in place. Definitely an attention-getter!

The color is more rich and vibrant in real life.  I was concerned about not wearing a bra, however the dress truly doesn't need it.  I was overwhelmed with compliments!

The dress is gorgeous. The color is outstanding, a picture doesn't do it justice. It was comfortable all night long. 

Absolutely obsessed with this dress. It made me look and feel incredible. I had compliments all night and turned every head--my husband couldn't look away!

I rented this Herve Leger as my backup dress for a girlfriend's wedding and ended up wearing it! Beautiful blue color, really turns out great in pictures. Since this is a lighter dress, I would recommend Spanx that are high waisted. I couldn't find my high waisted Spanx and regretted it because in some of the picturers, you could see where the waistline of the Spanx stops. I wore sticky boobs. The strappy were a little big and I had to keep pulling them up on the dancefloor, but it was fine. The dress was riding up when I walked a bit too. I paired with the Queen Ann Chrystal earrlngs, and the gold cuff. Wore 3" gold strappy sandals because the wedding was outside. I would rent this dress again with the proper undergarments. 

I absolutely ADORED this dress!!! I wish I would have bought it!! Rent this one ladies. You won't be disappointed.

Talk about diva! The dress was sexy, stunning, and show-stopping. It fit like a glove, holding every curve in perfect place. The royal blue color (they call it teal) was rich, brilliant, and beautiful on camera. The dress was surprisingly comfortable, and I was even able to eat dinner. I paired it with an equally stunning pair of Oscar de la Renta "Ocean Pave Bouquet" earrings from RTR. The only complaint, as others mentioned, was that the cap sleeved kept falling. I had so much fun & felt like a star- thank you, RTR!

This was my first time wearing Herve Leger, and it lived up to its reputation!  I actually had ordered a different Herve, but it was damaged so they sent me this instead.  When I first saw it online I didn't like the sleeves, but once I had it in person and put it on it looked great. The color was beautiful and it fit like a glove - it holds you in but isn't uncomfortable.  The sleeves could be pushed up or worn further down, both ways looked good.  I wore this to our company awards party and it really stood out in the sea of black, I got lots of compliments. I wore it with a Lilly Pulitzer gold clutch, gold jewelry, and gold ankle strap shoes.  Was worried it would be too much gold but it went perfectly with the color of the dress.  Will definitely be renting Herve again! 

Fit's true to size and hugs all the right curves. High waist band is also very flattering. I received tons of compliments on the vibrant color. Only negative comment I would have is that the straps were slightly stretched out and therefore ill fitting. Had to pull them up several times throughout the night. Despite that, I would still highly recommend this dress for a special occasion. 

Great color!  The small was a little looser than the xs - I rented both.  I wish I would have worn the xs (I wore the small) now though.  As the night went on the small "grew" and the cap sleeves kept slipping down.  Loved the dress though!

My favorite part of the dress are the sleeves, I feel they add a different twist to the normal Herve type dress. Really loved wearing this, and felt really great in it as well!

Terrific dress.  Fabulous color and sucked me in in all the right places.  I'd highly recommend this dress, not to mention Rent the Runway.  I couldn't ask for better customer service.  I paired this with tan Ferragamo peep toe shoes, a bunch of bangles and a pair of David Yurman turquoise earrings.

As all of the other reviews said the sleeves are a bit uncomfortable if you do not have wide shoulders they will slip down a little.  I had to adjust the dress throughout the evening, however I did not mind because the rest of the rest made up for it.  The color is stunning and the fit was like a glove.  I wore bronze t-strap heels and had my nails painted a cherry red  which all pulled together nicely. I am 5'9 (with long legs) and the dress sat just above my knee.  It is a different shade of cobalt in the different  light you go into.

The dress is beautiful. I'm a larger shade of girl and it smoothed me out beautifully I would still however recommend some spanx to look perfect. The sleeves kept falling down, I didn't usually notice since they don't bother but other people did notice. Beautiful in person, beautiful in pictures. I felt like the most beautiful in the room in a room full of beautiful people. Overall, get the dress. Oh and customer service for RTR is MORE then amazing. Thanks for your help!

Such an awesome dress! Great shape and color. Honestly would've probably gone down a size had I known the way Herve Leger fits. The medium was fine but I think the smaller you go the more it holds you in. No need for spanx or anything, the dress itself does a good job. The cap sleeves were a little loose for me since I sized up but it wasn't a big deal. Would absolutely rent again!

I loved this dress! I was really hesitant to rent an Hervé because I do not have curves on top of an athletic build. But the dress was absolutely amazing! It was both classy and sexy, and the color is even more gorgeous in person. A lot of people complained about the shoulders falling off, and while I do recall adjusting them from time to time, I wasn't bothered by it. The only issue for me was the bust. I am a 34C, yet the medium dress I had was still loose in that area. However, there is nothing on this dress that a little fashion tape can't fix. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about renting it!

I was a little intimidated renting such a body-conscious dress, yes it looks great on the model but is that just because she's tiny?  Anyway, I went for it and it looked amazing!  The bedroom selfie does not do it justice, I felt super sexy and got compliments all night, first thing people said to me was the dress looks amazing!  The dress is form fitting but extremely flattering.  The neckline and length keep it from being too sexy, the cap sleeves are great but I did need fashion tap to keep them up.  I would say this is the best I've ever looked in any outfit, would definitely rent again!!

The dress was sent to me after the original dress I ordered for our engagement photos was returned damaged. The dress is a really beautiful deep blue (deeper than the photo on the model) and fits like a typical Herve. I have worn or tried on 5 other Herve's from RTR and have always worn an XS and this one was no different, the XS is very comfortable and I'd say it runs true to size. That said, I would say that it is middle of the road to tight on the scale of XS's I've tried on, so I would recommend sizing up for your back up size. The only caveat to this is the cap sleeves which are a little loose, so if you have to size up, you may need to use fashion tape on those to keep them in place.

The dress itself is really pretty. I am a thin person but I have that "arm pit fat" that a lot of women have regardless of their size. Unfortunately (or "fortunately", depending on how you look at it ;) ) my hair is hiding this in the photo, but, due to where the cap sleeves attach in the front of this dress, a little bit of my arm pit was visible on the outside of the sleeve, which drew a lot of attention to that area of my body. I still think the dress is super cute and flattering overall - just something to keep in mind if arm pits are a problem area for you like they are for me :). I would still highly recommend this dress (and most other Herve's). Beautiful!

The dress runs small but still looks great. You can dance freely and feels very comfortable. Loved it!!

This dress was phenomenal! I wanted something special to wear for my Big 4-0 celebration and this was it! The color, the fit, it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you RTR for coming through. This was my first experience with RYR and could have been more happy. I will definitely be renting from you again.

   

Absolutely loved this dress. If you are looking for something classy yet sexy this is the dress for you! Now I normally NEVER wear anything tight but I decided to give it a try. I do not have a flat stomach or rock hard abs but this dress was still flattering. It smoothed out all of my insecurities on my midsection. I originally ordered a small as my first choice but it was not the fit I was going for. The medium fit just right (not too tight but not too big). Since I am on the shorter side, this dress hit to my knee. This is what made it feel elegant and classy. The shoulder caps were a little big but a little fashion tape did the trick. I paired with dress with light pink heels and a light pink flower necklace. You won't regret renting this dress!

The dress was super flattering. It was tight but thick so I think it holds in any "imperfections" (I wore a M). I think my boobs were too small though, the front of the dress kept slipping down all night (not in danger of showing anything, but I was wearing a stick-on bra and that kept peeking out as the dress slipped). Other than that, it was great.

This dress is awesome!! This was overnighted last minute because my first choice didn't fit and my extra dress was damaged. I weigh 127lbs and I am 5'2 with c boobs. This fits like a glove and sucks it all in. color is so much better in person! This dress is stretchy which is nice if you are curvy. The straps fall down constantly only draw back. The small was too tight on my chest . 

This dress definitely shows off your curves so be prepared for that. I wore it with a strapless since my chest is on the larger side and it fit great. So many people complimented me however I don't think I would have been comfortable wearing this to a wedding had it not been in Las Vegas, maybe just a little too racy. My husband absolutely love it though. 

I rented another Herve dress but apparently it was returned in poor condition by the previous renter. I was given a choice to choose any dress, so I went for another blue Herve dress. I'm 5'1"-5'2"ish and this dress went down to my knees (a little longer than I wanted but I guess good for a wedding). The color was gorgeous and vibrant and the dress fit like a glove. My only compliant is that the sleeves on this dress are a bit awkward. They don't stay in place if you move your arms, I had to constantly adjust them or pull them back up.

Even as a skinny girl, I'd suggest wearing spanx or something similar just to smooth out any small lumps and bumps. I saw a pretty significant different when I wore shapewear under it. Make sure you wear seamless undergarments if you don't want to go commando, as this dress is very form fitting.

This dress was perfect for the wedding I attended! I loved the vibrant blue color and the fabric was so nice! 

I received two sizes, a small and medium, and typically I wear a small in dresses so the medium was precautionary. Well, I'm so thankful I got the medium because the small was so tight on my hips/butt area that it was extremely difficult to zip up. Instead I wore the medium and that fit more comfortably. However, the shoulder sleeves were a little bigger and during the event they kept slipping off. 

Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the dress and my first RTR experience, especially because they provide the second size free!! I LOVED the dress, and aside from the minor shoulder thing I can't complain. It was beautiful!

I wore this dress for my rehearsal dinner and it was a hit. Looked beautiful.  I wore a medium, however, the shoulders were too big... I had to use some clear sticky tape so that they stayed up on my shoulders, otherwise they would have kept falling down.
