I am a size 4, 34C – 27–36. The fit was perfect. If you are not used to  boning, it is going to feel slightly constricting but that's how this dress is made! It holds everything together! Didn't have to wear a bra with it. The material is soft and thick but not hot to wear. So happy with my first experience:)

I would have given it a 5 but the bone structure of the dress also known as the corset portion was too tight and was poking me the whole night so not super comfortable. However, it gave a nice shape to the tummy area and I received a ton of compliments on the dress at the wedding! No bra needed either which is a plus!

This dress was so cute, but the corset within the top made it fit really snug! As a result, I had to go with the bigger size.

I rented this dress to celebrate my 30th birthday at my 80's themed party. It was perfect. The built in bra was great. The zipper is a little tough to pull, and the inside linig looks very worn. I probably would not rent this again, as it is a little prom-y. 

This was a great dress, so fun to wear and the fit was great! Loved the top especially. The material was heavy and seemed a little worn... but other than that, loved it!

Nothing like the photo. The dress looks like a sad, faded version that's been stuffed in an attic for 50 years. The color is faded, the fabric looks and feels cheap, the boning on the inside is gnarled (maybe from too many wears?)

For sizing info, I'm 5'5 and 140lbs (mostly in hips/thighs) and the 4 was a bit tight but manageable, the 6 was a little roomy (and very poofy).

This was a backup dress. When I first received it & tried it on I was stuck in it due to the zipper being a little bent. The other dress I rented had the boning sticking out so it was not wearable, so I risked getting stuck in this again. It was awesome, & comfortable. The wedding we attended was very fancy & this dress worked great! I didn't have to do much with accessories because the dress had enough of its own personality. I would definitely rent this again. 

True to size! My daughter loved the dress. Everyone was complimenting her! It truly made her feel beautiful! 

I think it runs a bit small through the back.  I usually wear a 2, but could not get it zipped up.  Glad I got the free back up in the size 4.  I am a little broad across my back, so that could be the issue.  I also ordered the $15 mystery bling and must say that I was disappointed.  Although I loved the Moschino teal quilted bag, it really did not work well with the dress.  Yes, I know I am a bit of an older customer, but my 30 something daughter and daughter in law both agreed that it did not go with the dress.  Guess I won't waste money on the mystery bling the next time....but the dress.....perfect!!

Absolutely loved this dress. It fit great through the bust area and had a built in bra. The full skirt made it very flattering and comfortable. I got a bunch of compliments. Perfect Fall dress!

Works great for pear-shaped bodies. Feels very secure. I didn't spend any time pulling up the dress or adjusting the top of it, even while dancing the night away! This one was - like some of the other reviews mention - a little worn in some places. It ended up working since my event had dim lighting, but I wouldn't want to wear it to a daytime party!

I LOVED THIS!  It's heavy, almost upholstery-type fabric, but that helps give the bottom SO much volume.  The top has an inner corset.  If your chest is on the smaller side, you still need a bra to fill in the shape of the boning; otherwise, you're fine without one.  I'm usually an 8 /10, but I think I'm a 12/14 in this.  I wore the size 10 - needed pliers for the zipper! I did LOVE this dress, just size up on your rental AND your back up size.

I wore my normal size in this dress, and even had a little room in the bust area, but I am very small there. The dress was comfortable and the fabric thick, perfect for a cool summer night. I love the way it twirled when I danced, and got so many compliments, another win for RTR!

Truly have no complaints about this dress. It fit me totally true to size, I didn't need a bra for it, it stayed up flawlessly (and I don't have a big chest) all night. The fabric is a little heavy, but the dress is strapless and I wasn't hot at all. Really wouldn't change a thing - loved this dress!

Fun dress with full skirt. Fit true to size. 

This dress runs a bit small. The interior corset ended up fairly uncomfortable by the end of night--the boning was digging into my ribs. However, it was such a fun dress to dance in that I didn't really care! It really snugs you in, and I'm quite busty, but I had no problems with it staying up. The boning runs down the skirt so the skirt poof doesn't fade as the night goes on, which I loved. Everyone loves the cut of the dress and kept complimenting me on my figure, so I was having a ton of fun. Great dress!

I received so many compliments throughout the night on this dress. As we were leaving the reception, the professional photographer hired for the gala stopped me to take my picture. This dress fit like a glove! It was definitely a little tight at the end of the night after dinner and a few cocktails. I LOVED this dress! It was thicker material, and, like other reviewers mentioned, I needed help zipping up the corset piece and then the dress. I could easily wear a strapless bra, however this dress did not budge or slip. I did not have to worry about it moving or slipping down all night. That being said, it does  not have a lot of give or leeway. 

Perfect dress for a night of dancing! 

The cut and quality of this dress were just spectacular. I stood out from the crowd, and got tons of compliments throughout the evening. 

Other reviews mention the complicated interior zipper system. It IS tricky, but holds well once it's fully zipped. It was a little loose through the top, but I had no trouble once I added the belt. Factor in the fully-boned bodice, and I had no trouble spinning, dipping, and dancing the night away. 

Overall, great dress, and I would totally rent it again!

I'm 5'9, tall and slender. I was nervous that this dress would be poofy and not look as flattering. I am a size 4 and was told the dress runs small, but I tried on the 4 and it fit perfect. The size 6 could have worked too, but was nervous I would have to pull it up all night. The dress does go out on the sides, but it still looked really flattering on me. I didn't actually wear this to my formal event even though I could have. I just decided to go for a different look, but still  this dress would have been super fun. I was told it was adorable, different and fun. 

I rented this for a birthday photoshoot. The top is very fitted. Even if you're not busty, but have a thicker back, consider the second size in a size up. The top will hold you either way, but I struggled with the zipper because of my thickness. It was fun to twirl and catch the wind in. Will need steaming upon arrival. If I could add one thing, it would be pockets. ;-)

Fit true to size. I needed help doing the built in bra and I wore a push up too due to being small chested. I was hesitant to wear it as I felt self conscious of how poofy the dress was but got so many compliments! Enjoyed dancing in the dress and it made my waist look tiny! Would recommend. 

I wore this dress to a charity event. Fits true to size. My only con is the skirt looks likes an umbrella..."poofy" is an understatement. I tried pinning the skirt but the material was too thick for safety pins. I held the skirt down for pictures. It's a beautiful dress without a doubt but be aware the skirt requires its own entourage! 

So cute! Loved this dress. Wore it to an opening reception and got so many compliments. The skirt is a bit poofy-er in real life, but it's still really fun. I liked this dress a lot, probably won't rent it again but loved wearing it that night. 

The quality is amazing and the cut it perfect. Has a built in bodice with boning, so it sucks you in and holds itself up very well. The skirt is very full and fun. I am 5'2 and it fell around my knees. Some people said this dress runs small, so I got a size 6 as the back up, but I imagine maybe they just aren't used to the "corset" feel. The 4 fit perfectly. 

This dress was an absolute hit! I had to size up because it is a VERY snug fit, but the corset really gave me a great figure. It's impossible to get the zipper up alone, but with some assistance I was all set! It does not slip or move at all once it's on.

I wasn't expecting to love this dress, but it is one of my favorite RTR dresses. The fabric is beautiful with its bold coloring and great texture. I found it to be very flattering and just risqué enough on the top. It did run large in the chest area, so I had to size down to feel like it fit snug enough for dancing. But other than that, it was a perfect dress! I received tons of compliments. 

LOVED this dress!!! Warning: you'll need extra help to get into this dress--2 layers of zippers! I'm 115 lb, 5'8", 34a--0 was perfect! Such a pretty, flirty dress...would def rent again! 

Really well-made dress with amazing internal boning and structure. Even though it is a substantial dress that is on the heavier side because of the fabric, I never once had to tug it up the way I normally do with strapless dresses--and I didn't even wear a bra. It was snug in the ribcage, which I loved.

I got this cocktail dress for an annual gala. It was fun, flirty and easy to wear. The bodice is structured and quite snug, so busty girls may want to beware. I'm about a B cup, and my girls were quite snug. 

RTR was out of my backup size and I probably would have gone up to the size 6 if i had it. I'm usually between and 4 and 6. The size 4 top was a bit tight on me and by the end of the night the girls seemed to be trying to break free. The bottom poofs out all around and I had 2 people think I was pregnant while wearing this dress - so there's that... But overall I was happy with it. I did receive a few compliments and the hubs liked it.

Runs very small! I normally wear a 12. I ordered a 10 and a 14 because they didn't have a 12 available. I wore the 14 but I could barely breathe the whole night. I took it off as soon as I got back in the car. So I probably only wore it for 2 hours total. I did receive a ton of compliments however! 

The fit was good, but the dress was so worn the zipper needed lots of TLC. It looked like lots of girls that were bigger than the size tried to squeeze into it. In photos this dress looks amazing. In person, the dress looked worn. Overall it is a nice dress, thick material that  is very flattering. 

I'm super delayed in writing my review. I wore this for a Christmas party. As I recall, I got a size that I thought would be loose, but it was actually pretty snug. The corset top can be tricky, so you may want to get a bigger size than you normally would! I loved wearing the dress. It was fun, the colors were different than the typical red and black I was surrounded by. I would absolutely recommend it to others.

Fit was perfect enhancing the waist area.  Beautiful.

I loved this dress and wish I could buy it! I got so many compliments  on this dress and was even noticed by a friend's coworker who was also attending the wedding who I didn't speak with! 
I am so grateful to the other reviewers so that I ordered the correct size. I'm normally an 8-10 and after reading the reviews ordered the 10 & 14. The size 10 didn't ship and so I got a backup black dress and the size 14 and luckily the 14 fit. 

I was a little worried when I got this dress because I am normally between a size 6 or an 8, but the dress was only available in a size 6. I loved it so much I just went ahead and ordered it and it was PERFECT!  It has a corset that really squeezes everything and makes you look like you have the tiniest waist.  I wore this with a bra because I felt weird without one but its really not necessary. I will say this, if you have a bigger bust this will likely be a little tight on top but for me it fit just right and actually helped make my bust look much bigger than normal. The color and the design were beautiful. This was my first rental experience with Rent the Runway and it will definitely not be my last!

The double zipper was nice, but it did kind of dig into my skin a little bit under the boobs and scabbed up a little bit. I would of wore the 4 if I knew that would have happened.
