This was my first RTR dress, and I absolutley loved it. I wear a 6 normally and wore a 6 in this dress. It was very tight however it was not uncomfortable.... I could have probably worn an 8. I wore a strapless bra and no undergarmets. The material is very thick however since it was so form fitting you could see the lines of the spanx.. so I would definately size up for your back up size.  The length was perfect just below the knee.  The dress really shows off your curves and I received many compliments. I wore my hair up to show off the shoulders and chose emerald earings since the wedding was held on St. Patricks day. 

Amazing dress! Husband was a big fan! Super form fitting.... I'd still say it's true to size but if you want more room prob size up. However w my true size and it being as form fitting as it was it was still appropriate to attend a cocktail party with city officials. 

This was a gem for work. Fit beautifully, classic cut, and the shoulders added just enough interest. It does run small. I usually wear a 0 or 2 in most RTR dresses but I needed a size 4. 

I got so many compliments on this dress! It's the perfect LBD! The cuts around the shoulders added a little edge. The fit was perfect and the material was easy to move in

I wore this dress to an awards event where I was being recognized. I wanted something sophisticated but edgy and this dress was perfect. I received several compliments on the dress. I am thankful I read the other reviews, as it does run small. I am normally a 6 and the 8 was super fitted. Thankfully, it worked as RTR didn't have a 10 available. I loved this dress and will likely rent it again in the future! 

I️ would rent and re-rent this dress any time I️ need a simple yet sexy go to. It hugs every curve . It's really conservative and runs past the knee but has cute cut outs in the perfect places to make it fun rather than matronly. Perfect for a work engagement 

Great fit! Super flattering and slimming. Minimal jewelry, let the dress speak for itself. 

I'm a huge fan of this brand and how flattering the silhouettes usually are.  This one did not disappoint!  The longer length make it very sophisticated, while the body con aspect gave it just the right sex appear.  

This well made dress is made of a thick material that helps smooth out lumps and bumps.

Does run small, wore a 10 and it was very comfortable! Sexy alternative of the normal LBD! Paired with a hot pink shoe

Have tried to find this dress to buy, but haven't found my size. I sized up to a 6 based on reviews. I hate not wearing a bra (32E) and had no issues not wearing a bra. Felt secure all night and very comfortable. I've never received as many compliments as I did in this dress. The fit was fantastic and hugged curves while still providing a great silhouette without highlighting problem areas. Highly recommend. 

Very classy but edgy.  Snug fit, but had some give so was comfy.

I wore this for a bridal shower and it was perfect! Thick fabric that holds you in (I didn't wear a bra), sophisticated dress with just enough detail to make the black color a little more interesting. Got a lot of compliments. Great dress!

I usually wear a size 4, but after reading reviews, I went with a size 6 and it fit like a glove. I will definitely rent this again! 

I got this dress in an 8 and 10. I'm busty so the 10 worked best for me. The back slit is high so it was perfect for dancing. I recommend this for anyone that needs a black, sexy but classy dress. 

Beautiful dress. I wore for work and then to a work dinner after. Cutouts are so flattering. Dress definitely snug, which I prefer. 

I felt trendy and beautiful in this form fitting classy lbd.  Size up if you'd like a more conservative fit - definitely recommend for work function, wedding, or date- will rent again for sure! 

Beautiful dress.  Modest yet form fitting.  Material is thick so it's forgiving.  Fits true to size, prob looks best on 5'5 and taller as it is a little long.

Fit runs small, so order one size up from normal size worn. The dress itself is figure hugging and flattering. I love the contemporary design of the dress. It is modest yet very sexy. I want to own THIS ONE! I'm in love <3

True to size, no supporting undergarments needed due to the thickness of the material. Short gals need at least 4" heels.

I was concerned that it might be too tight for a work diner but it wasn't and the length was appropriate.  Loved it!!

Loved this dress! It definitely runs small, so size up! Zipper is tricky to get up, unless your arms are really flexible, you'll need someone to help you get it zipped. Material is great, thick enough  to hide minor imperfections even though the dress is form fitting, but not so thick to make you hot. You can wear a racer back or halter bra with this to hide the straps. Wish I could buy this and wear it again and again! 

This dress fit me so well it make my almost non-existent waist look awesome! The length was perfect mid-calf and the slit in the back made it sexy. Fits true to size, but make sure you have a partner in crime to help you zip and up-zip! 

Loved this dress! Definitely runs small. They didn't have my backup size so I wore the 4, but I think a size 6 would have still have looked fitted without being so restrictive. As you can see in the fitting room photo, you'll need to convert your bra to a racerback or wear strapless. Beautiful dress. Received many compliments. 

The fit was perfect! I was assuming I would have to size up but the 6 fit perfect! I got so many compliments! I felt sophisticated being covered up but the fit made me feel sleek and sexy. I wish I could buy this dress, I love it!

After the dress I ordered had an inventory problem, 2 dresses that I did not pick were sent to me and were horrible.  The day before the wedding I was frantically talking to Lauren R to find a dress.  Picked this one based on availability and it was overnighted to me.  It was perfect and probably better than the one I ordered!  So sleek and sophisticated and classy, great quality, fit like a glove.  Got so many compliments and felt great.  Hit me below the calf, which is a better length than where it is on the model, bc I am short.  You do not cut off your calf when you are short! Paired with my fun pink shoes and minimal jewelry which is my style.  Did not need a wrap bc of the sleeves.  Really loved it!

Absolutely gorgeous dress! Whisk I didn't have to return it. Definitely very fitted, but fit like a glove. Really well made, no spanx needed. Highly recommend! 

Runs small!! The 10 was not available so I took a chance with the 8.  With the help of some Spanx and a friend to zip it up, good to go.  Even though it was snug, it was not uncomfortable.  Great dress!

First you should know this is one of those dresses where you feel you need to take shallow breaths and walk differently because it is so incredibly fitted BUT you KNOW it's absolutely worth it. (AND I sized up) I felt like a million bucks in this dress (even though my bra straps peeked out on occasion). Loved the length, arms were a little tight but it was comfortable sitting. My husband loved it. :) 

This is a beautiful dress.  I wore it to a summer wedding, but it's really a heavy fabric.  I wasn't sure how dressy the wedding would be, but I knew it wasn't black tie. The dress fits beautifully and is easy to get on.  I did receive many compliments.  I wore the size 4 and it fit perfectly.  The dress was a little smelly and I was so afraid people would get too close. But after so many wears by so many people, the body odor lingers.

Again, I say this all the time, but I LOVE E&J!!! This dress was perfect as I attended/worked the raffle at a Fundraiser Dinner. This dress fits like a glove and as with all their dresses, Spanx arent needed because they are made so well!! This and all their dresses look like quality that is classic and young!! Ive rented it twice already!

I liked this dress! It was much more conservative than I imagined, but ended up being perfect because it was freezing for the open air- Opening night. I typically wear a 2 and had to size up. Not much give of fabric- so if you've got hips, definitely choose the size larger. Arms fit tight as well. 

I LOVE all Elizabeth and James dresses. The material on their dresses is very comfortable, and the cutouts add such a fun touch. I wore this dress to a fundraising gala. All of their dresses are really tight so order a size up as your backup size.

Dress fit like a glove and accentuated all of the right features of my hourglass figure. It is a bit tight in the top area, but other than that it's is flawless. Perfect black dress to have on hand for date nights, events, weddings, and a night out on the town. 

Overall the dress is gorgeous, simple and elegant. I am 5'6" and about 140 lbs and had to wear a size 12 because the dress is super fitted and does run pretty small. I ended up not wearing this dress because this was a back-up I'd ordered in case the other one didn't pan out, but it was a close call, I literally flipped a coin haha. Would highly recommend this dress :)

Absolutely obsessed with the fit of this dress. Definitely runs small and I'm grateful! I always have an issue renting as I normally fit a 00-0. The length is perfect for a formal occasion and the cut outs are positioned perfectly for added drama. Rent it!

Beautiful dress! Love the shape and the arm cutouts. I had a speaking engagement, and received several compliments! This stress runs small. I could barely breathe when I first zipped up the 12, and I'm roughly an 8/10 and 5'11". If you are busty like me, your girls will be smashed in. I'm a 34DDD and look like a B cup in this dress. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Wear a racerback bra with this to prevent the bra strap peekaboo. 

I loved this dress.  It was made great.  Good quality material. I wish I ordered a size 6 though.   The 4 was pretty snug and has zero stretch to it. I could move and dance but it was uncomfortable at times and really flattened my chest.   I am about 120lbs / 34c.    
But overall a great pick.  My advice order a size up if you are busty. 

This is a form fitting, body-con dress that also runs small.   I am a comfortable 4, sometimes 2.  I wore a 6 and wish I had an 8 to try.   The dress tended to slightly "bunch up" or wrinkle in the midsection/hips bc it was so form fitting.  It is a beautiful dress, but I did feel like I had to yank the bottom throughout the evening to keep straightening it out.  I loved the sleeve cut outs, the sleeve length and the dress length.   

This dress is stunning. I was self conscious, since it is so different from what I am used to wearing, however the silhouette is really beautiful. This dress is very flattering, but very very form fitting. I normally wear a size 4, based on other reviews I ordered a size 6, but wish I had gotten an 8. I definitely recommend spanx to help smooth things out. All in all, it's a very sexy dress and I felt beautiful.  

The length of the dress sets the dress apart from being a basic LBD, however it definitely adds formality. Would recommend if you're renting for an event that is more on the formal side. Loved the fit of the dress and the thick material allowed for me not to have to wear a bra. Highly recommend. 

Absolutely loved the dress.  The fit was a little off.  It was really tight in the thighs but the hips were too big and stuck out slightly. I could have worn the 4 but the 6 felt more comfortable throughout the night. 

When I first put on this dress at the RtR store, I felt like I looked like one tall black cyclinder (hah). But after I moved around in it, styled myself (including pairing it with a nice little jacket, due to the cold northeast weather) it was great. I'm a girl who loves black, and this was a good mix of classic, edgy, and modern style. I wore this to my company's holiday party. RtR to the rescue again!
