This was my first RTR dress, and I absolutley loved it. I wear a 6 normally and wore a 6 in this dress. It was very tight however it was not uncomfortable.... I could have probably worn an 8. I wore a strapless bra and no undergarmets. The material is very thick however since it was so form fitting you could see the lines of the spanx.. so I would definately size up for your back up size. The length was perfect just below the knee. The dress really shows off your curves and I received many compliments. I wore my hair up to show off the shoulders and chose emerald earings since the wedding was held on St. Patricks day.

Amazing dress! Husband was a big fan! Super form fitting.... I'd still say it's true to size but if you want more room prob size up. However w my true size and it being as form fitting as it was it was still appropriate to attend a cocktail party with city officials.

This was a gem for work. Fit beautifully, classic cut, and the shoulders added just enough interest. It does run small. I usually wear a 0 or 2 in most RTR dresses but I needed a size 4.

I wore this dress to an awards event where I was being recognized. I wanted something sophisticated but edgy and this dress was perfect. I received several compliments on the dress. I am thankful I read the other reviews, as it does run small. I am normally a 6 and the 8 was super fitted. Thankfully, it worked as RTR didn't have a 10 available. I loved this dress and will likely rent it again in the future!

I️ would rent and re-rent this dress any time I️ need a simple yet sexy go to. It hugs every curve . It's really conservative and runs past the knee but has cute cut outs in the perfect places to make it fun rather than matronly. Perfect for a work engagement

I'm a huge fan of this brand and how flattering the silhouettes usually are. This one did not disappoint! The longer length make it very sophisticated, while the body con aspect gave it just the right sex appear.

Have tried to find this dress to buy, but haven't found my size. I sized up to a 6 based on reviews. I hate not wearing a bra (32E) and had no issues not wearing a bra. Felt secure all night and very comfortable. I've never received as many compliments as I did in this dress. The fit was fantastic and hugged curves while still providing a great silhouette without highlighting problem areas. Highly recommend.

I wore this for a bridal shower and it was perfect! Thick fabric that holds you in (I didn't wear a bra), sophisticated dress with just enough detail to make the black color a little more interesting. Got a lot of compliments. Great dress!

I got this dress in an 8 and 10. I'm busty so the 10 worked best for me. The back slit is high so it was perfect for dancing. I recommend this for anyone that needs a black, sexy but classy dress.

True to size, no supporting undergarments needed due to the thickness of the material. Short gals need at least 4" heels.

Loved this dress! It definitely runs small, so size up! Zipper is tricky to get up, unless your arms are really flexible, you'll need someone to help you get it zipped. Material is great, thick enough to hide minor imperfections even though the dress is form fitting, but not so thick to make you hot. You can wear a racer back or halter bra with this to hide the straps. Wish I could buy this and wear it again and again!

This dress fit me so well it make my almost non-existent waist look awesome! The length was perfect mid-calf and the slit in the back made it sexy. Fits true to size, but make sure you have a partner in crime to help you zip and up-zip!

Loved this dress! Definitely runs small. They didn't have my backup size so I wore the 4, but I think a size 6 would have still have looked fitted without being so restrictive. As you can see in the fitting room photo, you'll need to convert your bra to a racerback or wear strapless. Beautiful dress. Received many compliments.

After the dress I ordered had an inventory problem, 2 dresses that I did not pick were sent to me and were horrible. The day before the wedding I was frantically talking to Lauren R to find a dress. Picked this one based on availability and it was overnighted to me. It was perfect and probably better than the one I ordered! So sleek and sophisticated and classy, great quality, fit like a glove. Got so many compliments and felt great. Hit me below the calf, which is a better length than where it is on the model, bc I am short. You do not cut off your calf when you are short! Paired with my fun pink shoes and minimal jewelry which is my style. Did not need a wrap bc of the sleeves. Really loved it!

Runs small!! The 10 was not available so I took a chance with the 8. With the help of some Spanx and a friend to zip it up, good to go. Even though it was snug, it was not uncomfortable. Great dress!

First you should know this is one of those dresses where you feel you need to take shallow breaths and walk differently because it is so incredibly fitted BUT you KNOW it's absolutely worth it. (AND I sized up) I felt like a million bucks in this dress (even though my bra straps peeked out on occasion). Loved the length, arms were a little tight but it was comfortable sitting. My husband loved it. :)

This is a beautiful dress. I wore it to a summer wedding, but it's really a heavy fabric. I wasn't sure how dressy the wedding would be, but I knew it wasn't black tie. The dress fits beautifully and is easy to get on. I did receive many compliments. I wore the size 4 and it fit perfectly. The dress was a little smelly and I was so afraid people would get too close. But after so many wears by so many people, the body odor lingers.

I liked this dress! It was much more conservative than I imagined, but ended up being perfect because it was freezing for the open air- Opening night. I typically wear a 2 and had to size up. Not much give of fabric- so if you've got hips, definitely choose the size larger. Arms fit tight as well.

I LOVE all Elizabeth and James dresses. The material on their dresses is very comfortable, and the cutouts add such a fun touch. I wore this dress to a fundraising gala. All of their dresses are really tight so order a size up as your backup size.

Dress fit like a glove and accentuated all of the right features of my hourglass figure. It is a bit tight in the top area, but other than that it's is flawless. Perfect black dress to have on hand for date nights, events, weddings, and a night out on the town.

Overall the dress is gorgeous, simple and elegant. I am 5'6" and about 140 lbs and had to wear a size 12 because the dress is super fitted and does run pretty small. I ended up not wearing this dress because this was a back-up I'd ordered in case the other one didn't pan out, but it was a close call, I literally flipped a coin haha. Would highly recommend this dress :)
