I wore this dress for my birthday.  As always, love the E&J dress material and cut. Dress was SHORT and I'm 5'4. The 6 fit just right so I'd say TTS/ slight runs small. The 8 would have worked but was too big in the chest / back area (not normally the case for me!) but overall a great color and standout, simple dress. 

absolutely loved the shape of this dress as well as the vibrant color however it is pretty tight in the chest stomach area. ok if you are standing up with a perfect posture but uncomfortable when sitting.

I wore this for a nicer bridal shower at the Ritz Carlton. I got so many compliments! It fit like it was made for me. The fabric is excellent and obviously very nice, it is quite thick and has a great shape. I am 5'5", 130 pounds, 34C cup. Larger hips and small waist. I thought the 4 fit appropriately. It is short though and while I felt fine wearing it, it might be too short for anyone taller than me. Wish I owned it!!

This dress runs really small, recommend sizing up or at least sizing up for your backup size. I’m usually a 2, my backup 4 fit but was snug. It’s also very short, like be careful about bending over. However it’s very cute and I loved the bright color (great with a tan!). 

Adorable dress! Rented it to wear to my birthday brunch. Runs a tiny bit small and very short but the neckline is fairly conservative so it balances out. Love this dress!

Wore it to an outdoor barn wedding. Super cute, love the color (others' description as a "Tiffany blue" is accurate (photog did some serious color washing to that first pic, it's more vibrant, like the second pic), loved the sort of flair/structure of the skirt. It is a little short, but I mean, just don't do an Elle Woods "bend and snap" move. All in all, it was super comfortable, and I felt cute and flirty.

Nice stretchy material. I liked the length. Definitely need to watch yourself while bending over tho!

I got tons of compliments on this dress - the color is amazing! I wore a size 2 (I'm 5'3, 120) - definitely didn't have extra room but it was a great fit. 

Tons of compliments all night! Great thicker fabric but not too hot for a 90 degree day with high humidity!
My only complaint is this designer runs way small! I typically wear an 8, sometimes a 10 because of my boobs... I wish they offered more size 12's for the athletic build girl!

The picture is what you get. True 0. Not too short, but definitely not long. Snug in a flattering way.

I wish I owned this dress!!!! I LOVED the color and got so many compliments on this dress. It does run small so size up. Also it seems short on the model but for me (5'3/5'4) it was just the right length. 

I rented this for a Derby party. The material was thick making everything look seamless while wearing it. It also had a little stretch, so it was super comfortable! I have longer legs, so I had to be careful when bending down. But overall, I loved this dress!!

The hem was not right on the dress I rented. It's also small I recommend sizing up.

I loved this dress, I want to buy it! I rented it for a wedding. I loved the color, and paired it with a necklace to help dress it up a bit. The fit & flare style is perfect for defining my waist, and was very flattering. This dress might run a little small but not too bad--I'm normally a 0/2 and the 2 fit perfectly, the 4 was too big. It was short, but since I'm short (5'2" ) that was ok. Material is good quality and heavy so I never had problems with the skirt blowing up even though it was windy. And it was comfy to dance in! My husband and I tore up the dance floor!

This dress was perfect for my friends rehearsal dinner in August. The material was thick enough not to show any flaws!

Gorgeous color and sexy yet still somewhat conservative dress! Be ready to show some leg if you're tall is the only potential negative depending on what you're going for. I wore no bra and loved the way it looked, though if you're concerned about chest being a bit flattened you may disagree (I don't mind the look)

SUPER IMPORTANT: Elizabeth and James has their own unique size chart. I apologize for anyone confused by it in the photo. Seemed like it would more useful than a pic of me :)

I usually wear a 4 but had to go up to the 6. also it's a bit on the shorter side but still tasteful. Otherwise it fit just right everywhere else.

The only reason I gave this dress 4 stars instead of 5 is because the size 6 arrived with the hem all messed up :( Instead of being a nice, crisp hem as seen in the size 8 I wore and on the model, the hem was unflipped so that the seam was visible. It may have been able to have been fixed with some ironing, but considering RTR dry cleans their dresses before sending I was confused/disappointed that the hem was so messed up.

That being said, this dress does run a little small and the size 8 fit me more comfortably, and since the hem was perfect it was a no-brainer to wear it. Definitely make your backup size the size up from what you normally wear. It was the perfect length for my petite frame, and the fit and flare cut is super flattering! It was super comfortable and I wore a racerback style bra with it.

Great dress for a hot NC fall wedding. Color is not as bold as it looks. I ended up wearing the size bigger since the size 6 was just a bit too snug in the chest area. I got so many compliments. The bottom hem does flair out on the back. I taped it up but other than that - it was great! Highly recommend!

Tight in the bust. Very comfortable material. I loved the color and it was very flattering! This was one of my favorite dresses ever!

I usually run between a size 2 & 4, and the 4 fit comfortably. Definitely recommend wearing some spanx if your stomach is a trouble area. By far one of my favorite rentals. The color is stunning! Be careful if you bend over, the back is a little short, but not horrible. Wore this to a summer evening wedding.

Wore this bright little dress for my sister's bridal shower which I was the MOH for. Absolutely loved the cut and quality of the dress. Got lots of compliments on the dress and the bright turquoise color. Definitely recommend! 

I love this dress! I'm petite and it's challenging to find a nice dress with the right length. This dress was perfect! I wore it to a wedding on a very hot day and I felt cool and comfortable the entire time. I received so many compliments! I normally wear a size 0-2 but after reading the reviews I knew the dress ran small so I ordered a size 2 and a size 4. Both sizes fit but I opted to wear the 4 as it gave me just a little more room (which was needed after the awesome dinner we had). I would definitely wear this dress again!!! Thank you RTR :) 

This dress is even prettier in person. Perfect length - just above the knee, great material and doesn't wrinkle easily. Paired it with nude heels and oscar de la renta necklace. 

E & J always fits so well.  For a petite woman this brand nails it every time!  This dress is a beautiful color and was fun to dance with... not to mention very comfortable.

I wore this to a steamy Memorial Day weekend wedding in North Carolina. Nothing will keep you cool in 90 degree weather, but this dress was breathable. I got tons of compliments, and I felt beautiful in it. If you're tall, either wear flats or pass this one up because it's SHORT. It was fine with heels on my 5'2 frame. It was fun to twist and twirl in. Also, the hem is kind of funky and flops up and over a bit. Like everyone says, size UP. I couldn't even get the 4 over my ribcage. Overall I would rent this again. I'm convinced it would look good on anyone. 

I wore this bright aqua dress for a spring wedding at a national park that used to be an amusement park — I fit right in among the carousel horses. The attire was “a notch or two above casual,” and I paired it with strappy espadrilles and Jenny Packham “Something Blue” drop earrings. I thought the fit was pretty flattering in the chest and waist. I had rented a similar Elizabeth and James dress before, and the 8 was very tight, so I made sure to get both an 8 and a 10 this time. The two sizes were pretty similar, but I went with the 10 because I forgot to pack my spanx. You could just barely see the outline of my belly button. I wore a regular bra, though the straps did pop out a bit a few times. Also, the lining was a bit loose so the bottom edge of the dress wasn’t perfect. 

I got this dress as a back up when my original choice was unavailable because it was returned damaged. The color is magnificent, a real stunner for spring and summer. The material is sturdy, allowing the dress to hold its shape. Despite sitting for hours, the dress didn't wrinkle. It accentuated my tiny waist and made me feel flawless. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. The dress was short--very, very short. I'm 4'11, and when I was sitting down, thank goodness for my spanx. If it weren't for them, my behind would have been straight on the seat.  Also, the arm holes are extremely large, showing a lot of side-boob. I couldn't wear a bra at all because about an inch would have shown. I never go bra-less, but the material and cut of this dress allowed me to without looking awful. Although the dress was an 8, it fit more like a snug 6. 

If you can get past all of these issues, or if these things aren't issues for you, you'll adore this dress. 

This dress was wonderful! Looked great in person and in photos. This was my first RTR experience and it was amazing. Other reviewers said this dress ran small, and a rent-the-runway worker advised me to size up; however, I wish I had ordered a smaller size as my backup. I would say this dress runs true to size. I also think this dress can be dressed up or dressed down. The fabric, fit and cut are high-quality and flattering. Overall, great experience!

This dress was the perfect compliment to my son's carnival-themed first birthday because of the bright, vivid color.  It was comfortable and flattering!

I think Elizabeth and James runs small. I wear a 0 in almost every brand but got a 2 in this. 

The fit was great.  The material is a little stretchy so it's great for dancing.
The length was perfect, I didn't feel like I was flashing anyone but it wasn't too long either.


A little short, but great for a concert and/or party. Nice cut, great color, and nice mix-up on the LBD. Had to wear with a strapless bra or the straps would've stuck out. Would rent again.
