Stunning dress for a spring wedding in Chicago. It was a little snug but was able to not wear a bra from compression. I would size up if you're in between.

Stunning dress, especially for the holidays! As someone who's self-conscious about their "belly pooch," I was surprised by & in love with the way this fit. It was figure-hugging yet it skimmed over all the right places. The length and fabric gave it a vintage feel. The back is also gorgeous with a low cowl, though you can't wear a standard bra with it. Overall, would highly recommend renting this!

Was perfect for a valentines black tie wedding; I sized up based on reviews and would recommend that to others as well. Usually wear a large and the XL was perfect

Zip all the way, then roll up the top - I don’t know why it’s impossible to zip when the sleeves are on. Lol. Absolutely beautiful dress, I’m thinking about buying. The XS was extremely snug, I sized up to a small and was able to walk and sit comfortably. There’s no stretch. 

As a petite gal, I was a little worried about length, but thankfully the length was perfect with my 2" boots. Spent the night dancing with no issues.
As far as material, there is not much give. I'm a 27"-28" waist and the medium was fitted in the waist. BEAUTIFUL floral details.

Slightly hard to get in, but once it’s zipped, perfection. Lots of compliments and it’s super classy! I’m 5’3” and I wore 3 inch heels. 

Tricky to get on because it ran a little small. However it was super gorgeous and fit perfect once it was on! Wore to a romantacy-themed gala :)

I wore this for a fall wedding in northern Michigan and it was perfect! It’s definitely a “just right” fit, but fit my athletic build wonderfully (I am typically a size 12 in dresses, and the XL was great). Not much stretch or give in the fabric, but not in an uncomfortable way. I received compliments all night, and may even  consider buying it from RTR to keep in my closet for a future event!

Such a gorgeous cut on the back, form fitting, and the materials look luxurious. The small fit me just right and I’m a 4. Am only 5’0” and with standard ~3 inch heels it was a good length.

This dress was perfect for a black tie wedding at an art museum! The open back was amazing and got lots of compliments. It is not stretchy material so sitting was a little uncomfy at first but that is the only complaint.

It was perfect for a formal wedding. Flattering in the waist (I had to zip it up before putting it on all of the way).
My only regret was not getting it in long, it seemed short and I'm only 5'5. 

I got so many compliments even from strangers on the street! The best part was you don't need a bra! 

Fit was TTS, but there isn't a ton of give in the fabric and hips. I loved it. 

The S was a bit loose and the XS was just right. Loved this dress! Wore with classic nude heels. 

I love this dress but I am more hourglass/pear shaped and this dress fit super duper tight on my hips but perfect up top! Again so beautiful but if you’ve got a booty+hips and a small waist…be prepared for spanx and no sitting lol

I wore this to an evening gala event. Fit was perfect and the scooped back was just the right amount of sexy for a work event. The velvet texture overlay was unique and really pretty. I was stopped several times and complimented on the gown! 

Loved this gown. It was a great length for a petit. All the other gowns I ordered were too long. The Small fit like a 0-2 but my replacement didn't arrive in time for my flight, so I crammed myself into it and tried not to sit down! The fabric has no give so I don't recommend this ;) 

This dress was stunning!! It was perfect for a winter wedding! The back is swoop and was gorgeous! Fit perfectly! Perfect length! 

Loved this dress for a gala. Received many compliments. The back is so fun and it’s easy to wear even without a bra (and I have 2 kids…). I’m 5’4 and felt it was a tad short on me which isn’t something that happens very often at my height. Definitely recommend!

The perfect dress for a winter gala! The length was slightly short for my height but I made it work with lower heels.

Great expensive fabric feel. Did not need to wear a bra with this as the fabric was thick and supportive.  Great dress for a black tie affair.  

Worked beautifully on my pear shape. The dress has a thick material, so gives a beautiful silhouette. The open back is beautiful, and like others have mentioned, a bra is not needed. I did not fill out the chest area as much as I would have liked (34/D) but it wasn’t loose either. The hips were tight but I did not have trouble sitting. I received many compliments!

This dress was a show stopper for an early December wedding. It fit like a glove, the floral colors were vibrant and in a velvet material, the open back was tasteful and not too much, and the length was perfect! I’m 5’3, 116lbs, petite in chest. I wore black suede 2 inch heels, pop of red lip and a gold diamond ball earrings. I could dance and sit, but this is not a stretchy material, so there was some limitation. Hugs the body in all the right places. Highly recommend. 

It is very form fitting and snug around the rump so don't expect to be able to climb in to a high truck or courtesy shuttle!  Length was perfect for a two inch heel. The back drape is absolutely gorgeous. 

Wore to a black tie holiday-themed wedding and received many compliments! Might be better for someone with a shorter torso but was TTS for me and easy to move around in. The mermaid bottom and open back also really added to the dress. 

this was the final choice for a black tie wedding. ended up stying with a red velvet belt from amazon.  very comfortable and easy to wear all night!

Rented this for a formal gala. Gorgeous fabric, fit was great. Loved the open back. Length was good with a smallish heel. I’m around 106 lbs and there was def enough wiggle room in the XS but not too loose that it looked off. 

I ordered a size up and am glad I did - it was comfortable, stylish, and the velvet feels super nice. 

that didn’t require much jewelry as the dress itself was gorgeous. The dress photos very well highlighting the red and gold velvet 

Has a low back, so not likely to wear a bra with it unless you have one of those fancy skims ones that has the low back

This dress was so perfect for a BTO fall wedding. The details of the flowers were beautiful and the draping of the dress in the back was amazing. The side zipper was a bit challenging and it is a bit snug in the thighs if you’re trying to drop it low while dancing, but otherwise highly recommend! 

So pretty and the back makes the dress! I’m usually a size 6 and the small was a tad too snug but the medium was too big, so I ended up wearing the small. The dress has very little give so if you’ll be doing a lot of sitting prob not the best one but I was mostly standing so it was okay. It’s gorgeous though!

I was going to a more conservative German wedding so I opted for this dress because of how classy and covered up it was. The back is open enough to make it sexy, but not enough to take it out of looking conservative. It is a flattering shape but I do think I looked wider in photos than in person. It did not reach the floor for me and I wore like 2 inch platforms. 

Wore to a holiday fundraiser and got lots of compliments. Dress was very comfortable and suitable for winter. The fit was right in the hips for me but very loose in the top. So I had to tape it get it lay right but no one noticed. 

Just didn’t work for my body, the waist needed to be brought in and the hips were too tight. I have larger hips, but the length is definitely not great for anyone over 5’3”

Fit perfectly throughout my hips/stomach/butt where I carry most of my weight! The straps were a *little* loose/gaped a bit because I'm smaller up top, but I used a little fashion tape to keep them up. No issues! Very beautiful texture, especially in low light. Love the open back!

I think the back was very flattering, but the front was not. I could also only wear it in the early morning. It would probably fit a 10 or a small 12 better

It is beautifully made and high-quality. But I did find it a little large in both the waist and the hips, especially. To cinch in the waist, I added a Valentino belt, which elevated the look. The detailing is absolutely stunning. Length is perfect with a pair of 3 inch heels. It did not need steaming, which is always a plus when you’re doing RTR.

I rented this dress for a winter black tie wedding, I think it fit the vibes perfectly. I ordered a S with a back up size M, the S was pretty snug. It was very tight on my ribs, a little hard to zip, not much give for dancing, no stretch at all but the M was too big so I wore the small. Over all it was a beautiful dress but wasn’t the best fit for me. 

I am a usual size small when it comes to dresses, but for some reason the designers for Rent the Runway is using a doll size as their mannequin for reference. Anyway, this dress is gorgeous, but the only problem is when I tried a small it was too tight on the hip area which doesn’t stretch at all. Therefore, I couldn’t zip all the way through without tearing the dress. I use my back up dress which is the size medium and the medium did fit me through the hip area, but it was very big on the chest area. I couldn’t return it because I had to go to the wedding so I just pin it to make the chest area a little bit tighter with clothes pins, and it worked out fine. It is a beautiful and stunning dress but if you are like me, busty, make sure you size up and have clothes pins ready to use. This is why I gave it two stars. 

I hated this dress so much. The material has no stretch and is somewhat scratchy. It runs small, especially through the hips. It has decent structure and support through the top, so you can get away without a bra. This looked more christmassy on the website, in person it was much more black and red and felt more 90s vs. holiday. Do not recommend for pear shapes. If I had sizing up, the top would have been too big. Length of this was fine, I wore short heels and it didn’t drag. If you’re tall, you might have to wear flats. 

Fit well but a bit tight in the thighs even though I do not have a lot of curves there haha. No stretch.
