Such a beautiful dress made from amazing fabric making it look and feel very expensive. Fit like a glove. Incredibly flattering while still appropriate. Got tons of compliments. Would love to own this!

I wore this dress to my friends wedding and I can't tell you how many compliments  I got!! The black and white was dressy and perfectly flattering! I added a fun necklace of my own.  The cut outs on the side were just enough to make it fun and somewhat trendy!  As many others shared the dress is somewhat tight around the ribs but I did not find it uncomfortable! There was only a slight difference between the 6&8, the 8 being slightly loose in the chest and around the ribs.  The pockets stick out a little but not bad, it's just not smooth like it would be if there were no pockets. But would doesn't love a good pocket to hold a hair thing and your lipstick!!! Way to go rtr I couldn't have been happier with my rental!!!

For reference, I am 5'4" and 115 lbs.  The size 0 was a bit tight around my ribs, where the cutouts were ... so thank goodness for the size 2 back-up!  It fit like a glove, and I was able to wear a strapless bra underneath.  After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned about the length, but I thought it looked great.  Received tons of compliments.

Really liked the fit and look of this dress. Loved the side slits in the bodice, gave it a little edge while still looking formal.  You definitely can't wear a bra because of the slits.  The length was great and I loved the pockets.

Obsessed w this dress! Very classic but the cut outs made it so fun & different! I got so many compliments at the wedding I attended. Fit true to size. Midi length was perfect on me- despite not being very tall. Would rent it again but with so many beautiful options on RTR, I have no reason to! :-) 

Beautiful dress, received several compliments on it. I was able to wear a regular bra with it, despite the cut outs on the side (strapless bra showed). Would definitely recommend this classy dress!

I received compliments all night long. I would order a smaller size for the second dress. I am generally a 4 or 6, and I wore the 4 with plenty of room to spare. I was worried about it being too long because I generally like above the knee dresses, but it was perfect. Even has pockets! 

The dress was great. The fabric is nice and thick. Did not need to wear a bra even though the top is white. Size 0 fit perfectly for me. Snug at the top. The length is a bit more below the knee that appears on the model. Did wrinkle a tiny bit when sitting down but came perfect out of my suitcase.

I was worried the length would be too long but I'm tall so the length was perfect. Great, expensive feeling material and the fit was like a glove. 

This dress fit me perfectly. I wore the size 4 and it fit like a glove. I was able to wear a bra no problem, it didn't show through the slits at the side and it was a normal bra. I received a lot of compliments at the wedding, and felt like this was the perfect dress for a black-tie-optional wedding -- dressy but not overly formal. 
I'm 5'8", 28-inch waist and pretty much always a 4; this dress was no exception. 

Great dress! I thought the dress code was black tie, but it ended up being cocktails. I was worried this dress would be too fancy, but it ended up being perfect. You can dress it down with simple hair, makeup and accessories, or can easily be dressed up for black tie. I got numerous compliments and felt great in the dress.

This was my backup for our rehearsal dinner. And I absolutely loved it.  The fabric is gorgeous and the it is amazing.  It is so flattering and elegant. The 10 would've been perfect but the 12 worked just fine. I want to own this dress!

I got tons of compliments while wearing this dress and felt like I stood out in a good way at a friend's wedding!  The cut-outs are tasteful and color blocking was figure flattering (waistband hit me right at my narrowest point). The dress was super comfortable, as well. I would absolutely recommend this dress!

Fit - A little snug around the rib-cage but generally true to size. If you have a few extra lbs around the mid-section, I'd recommend you choose a larger size as your back-up, purely because of the cut-outs. 
Length - More like a midi-length for shorter girls (I'm 5'5"). I bought temporary hem tape from RTR in case this was an issue, but decided the length looked ok with high-heels. 
Undergarments - As some have mentioned, it's tricky to find a bra that works with this dress. I wore a racer-back bra that worked and didn't show through the cut-outs. With that said, I considered going without a bra and think I would have been comfortable doing so in the size 6, which was fitted.

I like that the neckline and length made it conservative, yet the cutouts added a little something extra. It was comfortable and easy to dance in.

The bodice fit beautifully-- conformed to curves but not too snug. The skirt was a little long on me but looked fine with heels (which I usually can't wear but didn't have a lot of walking to do). The fabric of the skirt has a silky sheen and is fairly heavy but drapes and flows nicely. The black-and-white gave a very chic look, and the cutouts on the side showed just enough skin but were not so revealing as to be inappropriate or make me self-conscious at an event where people were pretty conservatively dressed. Got lots of compliments and people thought I was wearing Chanel:).

I live in SF, so nothing is super fancy, but also it's nice to look nice, and this dress fit the bill. It fit in at the symphony, a couple michelin star restaurants, and a women in tech conference to promote my startup (VINA.io).... so it can go fairly casual but also get dressed up for a nice event depending if you add a denim jacket fancy up with accessories and cute shoes. The fit is fantastic. Heads up though - because of the cutouts, you can't wear a bra. The fabric is really thick though, so you can go braless without a lot of notice. OH - AND IT HAS POCKETS!!

Love, love, love. Got so many comments that I looked "glamorous." The material is such good thick quality, the bottom black part almost feels like leather. What drew me to this dress is that I could wear a regular bra with it, but once I tried it on I had to switch to a smaller bra (one cup size smaller, ugh) so that the bra wouldn't show through the side cutouts. Oh, and it has POCKETS. What more could I say?

I wore this dress to a black tie birthday party at the Plaza. The dress was definitely nice enough for the event and felt fun and age appropriate because of the cute cut outs on the sides. Loved the dress!

Great dress. Very classy and formal. The cutouts made it subtly sexy. A regular bra shows through cutouts. I wore the dress without a bra and felt it had enough support and no show-through. The bodice is very fitted with an A-line skirt that was beyond my knees (5'7"). I received many compliments at the wedding including someone telling me I was "best dressed. " I would wear this dress again in a heartbeat. It was comfortable to dance all night. 

I wore this dress to a formal work event.  I wanted something that was conservative but flattering.  This dress was very classy with simple clean lines and the side cutouts provided just the right amount of je ne sais quoi.  A few notes: you will need a bra that does not show on sides, the dress travels very nicely (did not wrinkle despite being shoved into a packed suitcase), the dress hit mid-calf so it was a bit longer than i was expecting.

The size 2 was too big for me; the 0 fit perfect. It was a little longer than the model on me but it looked just fine with heels.  

This was a replacement dress after there was a little shipping snafu with my original dress. It was fantastic. I believe I was the first one to wear the size 6 since it still had the tags on. The cut is forgiving enough so that you can eat, but there's no stretch in it, so get the correct size. The fabric is on the heavy side, so you don't have to worry about it wrinkling. 

The top can be a bit tricky if you have a smaller bust. I had to play around with different bras to 
see which worked the best. A strapless actually peeked out in the top cut out. And no bra gave me the deflated look. I eventually settled on a racerback style. If you're less than a B cup, I would consider a padded bra or another dress. 

Also, I'm 5'4" and the dress was mid calf for me. It was more like a midi dress, than knee length. If you're taller, you might have a different experience. 

I ended up wearing the size 0 and never tried on the 2. The 0 fit well but I had quite a bit of room in it, especially in the top. It actually bunched up a little. If you're little up top, consider a good bra to fill it out. If you don't have that problem it will look great! I'm short, 5 feet, so I was worried about the length but I actually liked it with a higher heel. Liked the dress a lot!

The thick fabric was slightly hot but the comfortability and fit of the dress made up for it. The contrasting colors created a great waistline and really flattered my hips. Would highly recommend. The four fit perfectly. 

I'm 5'10 and the dress length was perfect for my height, I didn't tug on it at all and was able to eat in it! I'm small busted, so I didn't need to wear a bra, I felt pretty secure. The only negative was the hanger straps - they kept popping out of the side slits. I would recommend purchasing some fabric tape to tape the straps up on the inside. Overall, very comfortable, classic dress.

It feels like a really simple dress but it turned a lot of heads. The slits on the side are subtle and tasteful but give the dress a lot of character. It felt totally appropriate for a black tie wedding. The cut is flattering and the fabric is thick and high quality. You absolutely cannot wear a bra but in the days of the sticky bra, that shouldn't pose a problem. I'm 5'8 and it hit below my knee. I'm a 34C and 135 lbs and the 6 fit well. 

I have a small bust so the bodice of the dress ran a little large on me, the pockets were super useful and the length of the dress was great. The hanger ribbons popped out often. Felt pretty wearing it. Got lots of compliments! 

The dress was beautiful. I usually wear a size 6 but got the size 4 because some ladies said it runs big. I would have worn the 4 but it was a little snug in my hips. The bust in the 4 fit perfectly. I wore the 6 to fit my hips but was a little loose on top. I suggest getting a smaller size for the extra dress instead of a bigger size. Received lots of compliments on the dress. 

Loved this dress! It was a bit longer than I thought it would be and didn't quite have the "movement" that I imagined from the photo. However, I received a lot of compliments! The cut outs were a fun touch and very appropriate. And of course who doesn't love a dress with pockets!

This dress fit me perfectly, and was a great choice for a formal, daytime wedding.  It's a classic silhouette but the cutouts gave it a little bit of sass.  Best of all, I could wear a bra!  I ate, I danced, and felt beautiful and comfortable the whole day.  Runs true to size (I'm a 4 and wore a 4).

I wore this for a Gala that was "black tie optional", and included work colleagues--it was the perfect choice! This dress stood out because it was classy and beautifully made, not because it shouted, "Look at me!" (Though I did get plenty of compliments!)

The fit: I am 5'9", and an athletic 130, the size 2 fit like a glove! I wore simple jewelry and shoes, but you could really wear anything to fit the occasion. The fabric is thick, and required no ironing or steam, and never wrinkled through the night. Also, no special bra or crazy shape wear was needed!

This dress made me feel great, and I would highly recommend it for numerous occasions! 

I'm 5'7," 140 lbs, and wear a 34 DDD. I rented the 6 and 8, and ended up wearing the 6. I wore it for graduation and kept it on all night to celebrate! I received so many compliments and felt beautiful and comfortable. In my opinion, this dress was sexy and classy. I was also very impressed with the delivery, how nicely everything was packaged, and how easy it was to return! I definitely suggest RTR to anyone considering it and I can't wait to shop for my next occasion! Brilliant concept! 

Rented this for a reserved wedding, but loved the cutouts because they still gave it a surprising sexy twist. And they were actually flattering1 Material is great quality and thick so it hides things well, but also means there is less give (which is why I wore the lasrger size). I think the length was longer on me than was intended but still loved it! Got a ton of compliments 

This was initially my first choice for a rental I was wearing to a black and white party. Online it was exactly what I was looking for. When it arrived, they didn't have my backup size, and good thing, the size 6 was very snug on my ribs (29 inches), the 4 would not have fit. The white wasn't as pure white as it appeared in photos and it didn't look as formal or flashy in person. It would be a good dress for a party but, it didn't make a statement. I ended up wearing the back-up dress (a different RTR dress) to the event. 

I was hesitant about this dress when I first tried it on, but it ended up being a hit! I got a ton of compliments on the dress! It's classic and the cutouts are in a really flattering spot. I wore the 4 (my back up size) because the 6 was a little baggy in the cut out area. The pockets were amazing. Deep enough to hold my phone and they didn't buckle out when i would put something in them! It was a little longer than I thought it would be. It fell just passed my knees instead of just above them, but looked fine with the strappy heels I wore. The top is definitely not white, it's more of a cream color. Overall, I don't think I would order this dress again, but it was perfect for the wedding and was super well received. 

I recommend sizing up if you have larger hips, but other than that the dress fit true to size. I felt so beautiful in this dress & received lots of compliments! 

Fit perfectly, would definitely wear strapless bra next time because the dress bunched and straps were visible from the side.

I wore this to an awards show luncheon, and it was perfect for the occasion. This gave me more of an hourglass figure than I actually have (slimmed my waist and made my small boobs look slightly less small), which I appreciate! And it photographed very well. At the same time, it was a little "safe" or "tame" which is what I wanted for this occasion, but if this were an event where I wanted a little more attention it would have been nice to rent the same dress but with more color. The cutouts are very subtle, in fact I'm not sure most people noticed them. Overall a great RTR experience, as usual. 

I did not want to return this dress. It fit beautifully and had pockets! Tons of compliments. Wore this dress to my works annual fundraiser.

Fit great, great quality, and it was very flattering. The dress code was kind of unclear for the event I was attending, and it turned out to be more formal, so I opted for a different dress. But I'd highly recommend!

This dress is so classy and wow, comfortable! I am short and was worried about the length looking odd but it turned out great. The pockets are a great feature and the little cut outs add a little extra to the top to make it sexy but still classy.

I wore this for a wedding in April. It was a safe choice as far as a dress goes. The material was thick and sturdy and the length was just right. I felt comfortable dancing all night in it too. 

This was my first RTR experience and I was a little nervous. I ordered the 12 and I'd say it is true to size. The size 10 was not available and as I suspected the to was a little to large for me. However, it was definitely comfortable and flattering! Best part? It had pockets!!! 

I rented this dress for my 30th birthday party. It was such an elegant fit and very comfortable fabric. The cutouts gave it a little edge but the length of the skirt kept it classy. The dress length was below my knees but had a soft "twirl ability" 

I would never ever normally where a dress with cut outs!! But this dress was so flattering and hit all the right places.  Gorgeous, quality material that made me feel like a million bucks. Loved so much I wanted to buy it!  And... I didn't have to wear a bra! 

The fit was so comfortable although the material is quite thick. Got many compliments. Very original and classic look. Great for a fall country club wedding! 

This dress was my favorite rental yet. The material has a nice weight to it, the cut was classy yet sassy and the color blocking really stood out. The size 4 fit perfectly and I didnt need to wear a bra bc of the seamlines at the bust area. I recieved a ton of compliments and to be honest, aside from the bride, I felt like the second main attraction. I'm sad it's gone!

Overall this dress was great.  It was a little longer than I would have liked for my for my 5'4 height.  The material is thick so it wasn't necessarily the best option for an outdoor summer wedding.  Nonetheless, it was very flattering and classy while the cut outs offered a little edge.  I wore a regular bra which was nice.  The dress was very comfortable as well and appropriate for a black-tie optional wedding.

Perfect for a black tie optional wedding. Sophisticated and classy while having fun cutouts on the side. The fit was good but not QUITE perfect...felt like it was slightly tight around the chest and ribcage so if you're any bigger than a D cup just be mindful with sizing. I sized down for backup as recommended but there's no way it would have zipped up.
I felt great in it though. Overall a success!

I have never received more compliments from friends and total strangers on an outfit than this one. The cutouts on this dress make the cut really sexy, but the fabric and fit of the rest of the dress keep it totally classy. I am 5'6", weigh about 123 lbs, and have an hourglass figure and the size 2 fit like a glove. I was able to wear a regular bra, and the top wasn't too tight on my bust (32D), and I honestly could've worn a pushup bra with padding and still had enough room (but didn't see the need for the torture considering this isn't a low cut dress). The absolute best part of the dress is that it has hidden pockets!! Deep enough to fit a cell and some lip gloss. I was comfortable all night, and honestly, I have looked everywhere for where I could buy this dress to own and wear all the time because it is simply a classic.

This dress was a great fit for a Broadway gala I attended. Thanks to other reviews, I was able to get the sizing correct without a back up size. I say this dress runs small only because of the rib cage area. I was comfortable all night in this dress.

I am 5'1" and the dress was longer than expected.  I thought it would fall just below my knees and it was much longer than that. Overall, it was a very flattering and comfortable dress.

The dress is made of fabulous fabric that lays wonderfully. The only issue I had was my bra peeking through on the sides occasionally but aside from that it was perfect! I received tons of compliments and I would definitely rent this dress again!! It is very fitted through the ribs so if you have a wider rib cage (like I do!) you may want to order up a size for your backup dress. 

Seeing pictures of this online, I was fascinated by how unique this dress was.  It was conservative enough to wear to an evening party but the it came, it was definitely too long.  The fit was true to size and the compliments I got were still great.  But I couldn't help but feel like I was wearing a habit.  

Wore to a black-tie where I didn't want to be in a full length gown.  The material is a rich thick silky satin that has a nice low sheen without being "shiny".  Didn't wrinkle from sitting and I was even able to slip my iPhone in the pocket for a bit without worry. The top is not bright white, maybe more between white and ivory, really beautiful. As for the fit - only the 6 was available, it was snug at the waist and top but not uncomfortable.  The skirt is forgiving on the stomach and hips so you're safe without your spanx!  If I was a little larger in the bust I probably would have needed to go with the 8 so I would say go with the size you would for a fitted top.  At my height it was nice to see the skirt still hit below the knee making it more formal than an above the knee cocktail dress.  Paired it with the RTR Tova  midnight emerald cluster earrings for a pop of color. 

I thought the fit was really great. The pockets flared out a little bit, but it's a price I'm willing to pay for pockets. I'm a very hourglass-y pear and so it was a bit loose around my natural waist, where the black starts. It wasn't too big a problem, though. I did have to adjust the cutouts every now and again. The little white band in the middle of the cutouts kept wanting to migrate down. Other than that, this was great. I wore a regular bra and it didn't peek out very much. I really loved it and I got so many compliments on this dress. Definitely worth a rent. The white on top is a little bit of a dull white, so keep that in mind if you have any truly bright white accessories.
