My backup size 6 fit as well in the waist and hips, however the neckline felt like it was trying to choke me so I stuck with the 8. Love that this gave me a nice waist and hid my thighs. 


This dress was very lovely. I wore it for a birthday party dinner in Vegas. Would be very nice for an evening wedding ceremony. I am tall and the length was great, even with my heels on.

Fantastic dress! Ran slightly big but that was perfect because there was room for eating and dancing.  Comfortable and way more beautiful in person than the picture. 

This was my first RTR dress and I couldn't have been more pleased. The dress fit perfectly and I loved the pockets. The skirt was fully lined and the material was light (which was good because it was an outdoor ceremony in 90 degree heat). I would definitely recommend this dress to others. 

I really loved this dress. It's very classy and elegant and was perfect for a spring black tie wedding. I wore it with the Elizabeth and James windrose pave cuff and the Ella Carter Aubrey earrings. It was perfect, I would definitely rent again. Another plus it has pockets! This dress does run large though so size down for your back up size.

This dress fit like a glove. I had asked for the 10 and the 12 and was so sad when the 12 wasn't available. My son was born in August and I haven't comfortably been able to wear a 10 since way before than and figured this wouldn't fit. Thankfully I tried it on because it was beautiful. It's fitted in the bust but roomy enough that my 36 DD+ chest felt just fine. It hid all of my post-baby chub and I felt like a rock star. I don't remember how many of any complements I got but it didn't matter because I felt fabulous.

Fit was true to size as far as I could tell - I am in the process of losing the baby weight though so I am not sure exactly what size I should be!  The pockets were amazing and the shape was very flattering. Sorry the photo is a bit washed out.  This was my first RTR experience and it was great!  I received tons of compliments and the "stylist surprise" earrings were perfect!  

The full skirt was perfect for a daytime luncheon. You can wear a normal bra with the top as there are hooks for straps. The dress is amazingly comfortable and has pockets!

I rented this dress for a wedding in a size 4 and 2. I'm normally one of those two sizes, and since this dress is only fitted through the bust and waist, the 2 was the better fit. It was a little large through the bust, but not noticeably so. The skirt is full without looking like a cupcake and the pockets are a lot of fun! The fabric is very thick and has a brocade feel to it. Because of the nature of this fabric and the colors, it lends itself more to a Fall/Winter wedding, in my opinion. Overall I was pleased with this rental!

Easy fit on the shoulders and waist; seemed short, but wasn't a problem. 

This dress runs small. I am usually a size 16W. The 18W didn't give me enough room to breath, so I ended up getting the 20W lucky they had plus dresses in the store. Overall it was great! I was so comfortable even though it was a very different style than what I would normally wear. The pockets was cute! Everyone was calling it a tea party dress...but after the night was over the dress did its job and I looked great!

Pro: My bra straps were secure with little clasps in the dress that kept them in space.  Tons of compliments! Flattering cut.  

Con: I was concerned with the pleats lying the right way (not enough to stop me from renting it again)

The fit was perfect, especially for my body type. Because I have a large chest (38DD), dresses where the skirt starts to fall right at the waistline are usually the styles that I go for, so this was perfect. The only area that was tight was my chest, but with that said I did not have to wear a bra and that felt pretty great. So overall, the dress was a success and I am very happy with my first RTR experience!

I personally really enjoyed the dress because of the pattern and also it was so comfortable int the entire night! In pictures, it was captured so beautifully and you can definitely tell the quality of the dress really makes it stand out. I don't think the picture on this model does this dress justice but those considering this dress will be very delighted to see it worn. It was a very classy dress and I was very happy with my choice. 

Wore it to a cocktail-attire party.  Was perfect for the occasion.  Classy dress.. Fitted on top, lots of pouf on bottom.  I loved the pockets and racer back.  I recommend!

This dress was very elegant and conservative for the wedding I attended.  I did find the dress ran a little large.  I wore the four, but could have probably gone down to a two.  The top was a little large on me, but otherwise this was a great dress!  The pattern is beautiful and I received many compliments.  

This dress is very well made, fits true to size and even has cute little pockets!  Very easy to wear and looked amazing!

Full disclosure, this dress was sent to me as a backup because the dress I originally ordered was damaged. (Shout out to awesome customer service!) However, despite it not being my first choice, it was a great dress to wear as a guest to a wedding. Very comfortable. I'm usually a 16 or 14W. The 14W was a little tight on my chest but the 16W was perfect. Great movement for dancing  and a good length for sitting without it riding up too high. Overall I'm very happy with this rental! 

I received this as a replacement dress since a dress I ordered was unavailable.  It's so comfortable, while looking very pretty.  It runs a little big on top, even with my push up bra.  The pattern doesn't photograph in a flattering way, so wouldn't suggest if you are wearing it for a photo shoot for a wedding or anything like that.

I usually wear a 4 or 6. I wore a 4 in this dress and it fit fairly well..somewhat tight on the arms.

Overall I really liked this dress! I ordered a 10 and 12 both fit, but I went with the 12 because it had a bit more room. The dress is very pretty and elegant, perfect for a wedding! The fabric is really nice, a bit heavy duty but comfortable. Also I enjoyed this dress because it was long enough! I am 5'11" and have a hard time with finding dresses that are long enough...this dress is the perfect balance not to short but not too long. :) 

This dress was great from the front and in pics! It was also quite comfy and there was plenty of space for an hourglass shape.  It paired very well with a cardigan/boots/tights. 4 stars and not 5 because of the rear view - the slight balloon of the bottom is not exceptionally flattering for a bigger rear - the pleating also causes some puffing especially after sitting. Overall tho it was a great dress and all pics were from the front and thus I am happy! :)  

I rented this dress for a mid-September Chicago wedding. The b+w pattern and jacquard fabric was a good choice for our Midwestern in-between-season (the temperatures can be completely unpredictable).

I have a large bust and broad shoulders; the 10 was just a tad snug but nothing pulled and I felt like I could move freely (especially on the dance floor). The cinched waist gave me some shape and the hemline hit PERFECTLY below my knees, making my muscular gams look shapely. The dress could have used an iron but the floral pattern hid this well. The dress was pretty and fun but not a knockout like some of the other dresses I’ve rented from RTR. I paired the rental with the suggested Slate and Willow Pale Pink Floret Earrings; LOVED the earrings (they could easily be paired with a hundred other dresses/outfits).


Ordered this very last minute for a black tie party and it did the job nicely!

The zipper  was a tough pull, even though it wasn't tight. The skirt carries it's own shape - but not too exaggerated of a poof. Pockets are fun! Dress hit just above the knee - I am 5'5". It isn't overly sexy - but the colors, fabric and fit make it elegant and classy. I like this dress.

I think I could have tried a size 2, but the 4 fit just fine (true to size, but in some cases I can wear a 2). I wore nude hose with beige open toe platform shoes, red nails, red purse.  Really loved this dress.

The fabric of this dress was heavier than expected, which worked out well for the wedding I wore it to, since the weather turned cool and rainy. The dress fit true to size, although the waistband pinched a bit at times. The feel of the dress is very feminine and classy, and the silver pattern photographed beautifully!

This was my first time using Rent the Runway. I was a bit nervous because I am busty gal, but this dress fit perfectly and I wad comfortable in it all night long. 

I usually wear a 2, but went with the 0. I loved the dress and the pockets were a great bonus! 

This dress was absolutely gorgeous. I got so many compliments and felt so classy. It for like a glove except for being a little tight in the chest area. I actually wear a 32 DDD so It fit my rib cage but I had to go braless to get it to zip. It was snug but with it.

The dress did fit true-to-size, which was amazing (especially because my backup size wasn't available). I have a large bust and wider hips so sometimes these dresses' fit can be a challenge, but this one wasn't too tight in the arms, bust, OR waist. The material is thick and very comfortable (although, the underlining WAS torn when I received the dress; I hope RTR is able to fix the tear). The length was good on my frame. The pleats in the skirt are a little strange, but not unflattering. Best part? THE POCKETS.

I loved the slightly metallic tones of the flowers. Just special enough for New Years Eve out with friends. Fit was flattering on my hourglass figure. I did need to wear my alternate larger size for the top to fit comfortably (not surprising as I'm a 40DDD bust). Overall, the dress made me feel great and I'd recommend to friends. 

Felt amazing the moment I put this dress on, and I hadn't even done my hair or makeup yet. I wore this to an evening indoor, spring wedding. The skirt is pleasingly full but not over the top. The structured look of the top is very classy and great for a more conservative look, if you need to keep the Grandmothers happy, but still has plenty of feminine and sexy chic. The higher neckline let me skip the necklace and stick to statement earrings- rented these too (Elizabeth Cole Bacall Earrings)! Loved it, if I have the chance, I will rent it again.

This dress was perfect for a fall, sunset wedding!! I am only 5'2 and this dress came to my knees. Definitely wouldn't recommend for someone any shorter, unless you are going for a more of a conservative look! The silhouette was very flattering and made my waist look tiny!! The armholes are a little tight, but not too terrible. Loved the pockets on this dress. 

I was so happy with my first dress!  I have a large bust (DD) so the 18 was a bit snug.  The 20 fit perfectly.  It was comfortable and I got a lot of compliments.  I love the pockets as well.  

This dress was amazing. It fit wonderfully, was super pretty and I got a ton of compliments. I wore it to a winter wedding. This was one of my favorite dresses I've ever rented!

Had the wear the backup size (10) because the size 12 I was supposed to receive came back damaged from the previous patron and RTR sent a different size 12 dress instead. The dress was a little bit worn (the lining was showing beneath the hem of the dress), but I liked the style of this one better than the replacement, so I dealt with the snugness under the arms and at the waist. Totally worth it! Received many compliments and felt and looked great! 

The dress was okay...not a big fan of the material and it runs small.

Loved the fit, very flattering! Fit well on top, not too tight and bottom was loose and comfortable. Only downside, the lining on the inside of the dress is like torn to shreds. Not sure if when previously worn the slip on the inside may have been too tight for someone and they ripped it down both sides. 

First rental!  Process was wonderful, and return was easy.  I rented the size 18 with a backup of 16.  They didn't have the backup size 16, so they sent two other dresses.  I was pleasantly surprised!  One of the backups was a dress I'm thinking about renting in June, so I got to try it on.  The dress I wore had a VERY tight waist.  I'm a plus-size, but I have a small waist.  Most pants run big in the waist for me, and I have to wear belts.  I was able to wear the dress, but the size 16 would never have fit.  The dress made my already plus-size rear end look a bit larger, but it didn't bother me too much.  Very pretty and well made.  The zipper was a nightmare to get up.  I couldn't have done it myself, and my daughter even had trouble getting it up.  When I tried on the backup dress, I couldn't get that zipper up by myself either.  I'm wondering if this is common for designer dresses?  Super happy with experience, and I'm renting again in June.

Wore this for a work event. Length is pretty good. I'm 5'3" so it fell right below my knees which is a little longer than I would have liked. It felt a little big around the waist but it left me room to move. Fun print though and I got several compliments. 

This dress is very pretty and was perfect for a friend's wedding!  Even though most 10s are usually a little too short and a little too tight on me this 10 was actually a little loose in the waist and the length worked. The silver of the flowers look really nice in person and even better in pictures. And pockets is always a plus!

For my top heavy ladies this dress will pose a problem.  You must go up at least 2 sizes or the zipper will not budge as the dress has no stretch.  The pockets can make you feel a bit wider but overall a great great dress!

The dresses arrived as expected. I wore the size 4 and did not need to try the backup.  The fit was great, the arms were a little snug.  I loved fabric and the pockets.  I will definitely be using this again for my next event.

It was a little baggy on the top and a little too poofy on the bottom. Loved the pockets! Gorgeous dress but probably would fit a larger chested person better. I wore it to a wedding and it was a prefect style for a wedding.

I rented this for a wedding and got tons of compliments. The fit was great and the length was not an issue for me (I'm 6'1"), The pockets were nice, although the placement made the sides of the dress stick out just a teensy bit. It has those bra strap snaps so I wore a normal bra even though it exposes more shoulder than a normal tank top. I didn't look too closely at the pictures before I ordered, but the bust darts and pleats for the skirt are exposed, they're not sewn inside the garment like normal. Wearing a belt over the waist would hide that no problem if you didn't like it.

I was so excited to get this dress! I was a little nervous at first because I wasn't sure on the fit when ordering, and they only had my true size available for the weekend I needed it so I couldn't order a size smaller. However, I got it in the mail and I loved it. The way it fit was perfect, and it hid everything I wanted. The best part of the dress for me was the pockets, I was able to carry things around all night which was great! I will definitely be ordering from RTR again!! 

Usually wear between a 10 and 12. Have a 36DD chest and the chest was too tight in the 10 but much too big in the 12. I worse a regular bra but I think strapless is the way to go. 

I wore this for a spring wedding in Kentucky -- there's a chance that the slightly fuller skirt may have seemed a bit odd in a different location, but I liked it either way. Nice thick fabric, with pockets to boot! Definitely smallest on the natural waist and bust, with room in the hips. If I recall I may have had to go braless to make it fit more comfortably (which works because of the fabric)

The floral design of this dress is one I would love to own as a staple dress in my closet. I wore it to a wedding in LA and it was perfect for spring. Fit and flare made it easy to move around in and dance with at the reception. The dress also had pockets! I was able to hold my phone and other small items for upkeep during the night. The only issue I ran into was that the top part around the bust was a bit loose for me. I definitely would consider renting this dress again.

This dress is amazing, I'm 5"11 and it was long enough to be comfortable standing and sitting. I wore it to a new years eve lunch and paired it with a black belt. I got a ton of compliments and the pockets are great. I could have worn a 6 but the 8 fit well. 

This size 0 dress fit my 13 year old daughter perfectly.

This dress was beautiful. The fabric is thick and the fit was extremely flattering. No worries about wrinkling and the pockets are perfect! Very comfortable and I felt great - tough to find for someone with a curvy body shape. 

The dress fit perfect.  A few strings that need to be trim on the dress.  One thing not mentioned in the description and reviews it was pockets.  Loved it!   Lots of compliments!

I had a different dress planned, but it was unavailable to ship, and RTR noticed I had favorited this dress for the same event, so they sent it along, with a few other backups.  It saved the day!

I never know when RTR says the size is a 16W or a 14W if it really is a W cut or if it is just plus sized and is really a 14.  I typically wear a 14/16 top and 16/18 bottom, so flared size 16 fits fine, and sometimes 14s. 14W usually works, too, but can be loose.  So when I see 16W, I worry it will be huge on me.  This fit perfectly, so I think it is a true 16, not a 16W.

Fabric is nice - heavy but not super heavy.  Substantial.  Pattern is lovely. My only "ugh" was that the skirt is attached outside the top with a raw edge, which maybe is the style, but I think looks terrible (see photo). Easily solved with a belt (though not the one I would have chosen if I had more time to plan, but it worked). I got a TON of compliments and I felt great all night.  It was a smidge shorter than my preference, but it was fine. I just had to be careful not to bend over!

This was my backup dress so I actually didn't wear it to the wedding I was at which was such a shame I loved this dress. Dress was so comfortable stunning material will definitely rent this dress again.

Wore this to a fall wedding. Got lots of compliments and felt stylish yet super comfortable all night. Loved the pockets. Wore it with the Cara Dress Me Up bracelet. I ordered the 2 and the 4 and ended up wearing the 2, which is my usual dress size. I'm thicker through the waist but small through the shoulders, so the waist was a teensy bit snug on the size 2, but the 4 was way too roomy on top.  Would definitely wear this dress again - loved it. 

I wore this for a friends late afternoon into evening wedding and I think this dress was perfect. The colors allowed for a nice transition thru the  day. The cut was great for my body type as it hid problem areas but made me still shine. The quality of the dress was awesome. The fabric was luxurious and the pattern looked elegant. Really enjoyed this dress and would love to wear again. Got a lot of compliments about how great it looked. 

Not my overall favorite dress rental but it did the trick! Wore it to a late summer wedding. It's definitely more on the conservative side since its a high neck but loved that I could wear a normal bra with it. I wished it was an inch or two shorter, it hit right above my knees. I normally rent and always have worn size 6 from RTR but the 4 fit better, so I would say it does run a tiny bit large. It was a little tight on my stomach/chest but I preferred it over the 6 since the skirt on it is puffy so I liked the balance.  Could dance and 'get low' in this without showing it all! Overall good rental! Recommend if you want a dress that is fun but still covers you up! 

Looked just like the photos and fit me well basing off previous reviews. I received compliments the entire night on how classy and classic it looked. Loved this because it transitioned so well from day to night. LOVED the pockets!
