I was a bit nervous about this dress because I'm not used to wearing a higher neckline in a short-sleeved dress and thought the waisted pleats might be unflattering, but it has nice defined lines and creates an elegant silhouette (note, the photo I'm posting isn't the best, but the belly really does lie flat). This is perfect for an hourglass figure and I imagine it could give some more curves to someone with a straighter build or pear shape. I think the skirt might not be flattering if you have more of an apple shape because of those belly pleats. 

The fabric was great for my spring bridal shower, but would work equally well in a cooler season and, in fact, I plan to rent it again for a fall wedding. 

The colors are vibrant and I got lots of compliments - including lots from my fiancé who did not initially think he would like the dress based on the review photos. 

Very nice dress and had pockets which is always awesome. I got compliments all day. The downside is that the fabric has no give and the sleeves are very tight. By the end of the day I had marks on my arms from the sleeves and wasnt able to lift my arms above my head the whole day which made me feel like i was tied up, very uncomfortable

I loved the colors and pattern. I got several compliments. Interesting and fun without being too flashy or bright.

I loved the sleeves and being able to wear a bra. The thigh/leg area was a little tight which made sitting and transitions between sitting and standing a little tough. I wasn't able to try a size up as it was no longer available. 

Overall a very flattering fit , perfect for the occasion. 

The colors and pockets make this a super comfortable dress to wear. It was a little but ling on me, but probably just the right length on anyone 5'6" or above.

I got both the 4 and 6, both zipped up. But if you want more movement, the bottom is somewhat tight and there's no stretch to fabric, size up! Classic look for NYE, wore a vintage mink jacket with it. Highly recommended if you're looking for a fun vintage vibe dress. The fabric is gorgeous in person.

Arms aren't tight like a lot of tailored sleeves. Fits close to the rib cage but doesn't hug the thighs so you can move freely.

This dress fit well and I received several compliments.  The slit on the back doesn't go up very high, so I did feel a teensy bit restricted for dancing, but not enough that I still wouldn't recommend this gorgeous dress!

This dress was beautiful. The colors and fabric were perfect for a winter wedding we attended. The fabric/fit does not have much give to it so I'd size up if you're on the fence with a size. It could be a bit difficult to sit for the same reason, but not enough to take away from overall love for the dress!! 

This dress is so flattering. The 4 and 6 both fit, but i decided to wear the 6 due to a week of Thansgiving related overeating. 

The one challenge is that the dress has no stretch, and a small slit, so getting in and out of the Uber SUV wasn't easy. 

I wore this to an event with my in-laws. Very appropriate yet still a little sexy with the great tailoring. Thick, high-quality fabric that works in cooler weather. 

This dress was perfect for a double wedding weekend....with a two hour car ride in between the weddings.  The fit was a little snug through the chest, but I didn't have the arm issue that other reviewers did. The pockets were clutch, as well.  This was the best RTR dress I have rented thus far.  I received so many compliments, beginning and ending with my husband, who couldn't stop staring all night.

I rented this dress for a big work event.  I fluctuate between a 4 and 6, so when the backup size of 6 wasn't available, I was a little nervous about only getting the 4.  It fit perfectly!! I felt confident and received so many compliments on it.  It really is a great dress to rent.

So many compliments on the brilliant colors of this dress! The top part fit snug and tight. I gave it 4 stars only because I wish the bottom part fit a little better - it was very loose for me. But if you're looking for something with more room in the stomach area, this is perfect. Overall very classy dress for a wedding or formal event

Tight fit across chest and arms as noted in other reviews. So I sized up considerably. 

Beautiful colors and fabric. I got many compliments! For anyone who is a true pear shape this may not be the best dress for you. The top was baggy so I had to belt it to look good. Go with your pant size, not your dress size when selecting a size for this dress. 

Loved the colors or this dress and the capped sleeves were perfect for a fall dress! Was slightly tight in my rub cage but overall fit well 

Beautiful and tailored to be so flattering but definitely sized for an hour glass figure. On the plus side: your waist is gonna look tiny. On the downside: if you have big thighs, sitting is gonna be weird/uncomfortable. Standing and dancing was fine though, so if you're one to spend the evening on the dance floor, go for it! 

Definitely true that the dress narrows more than expected toward the knee and around the thighs. I could have worn the 2 and felt more trim had the slip not been so tight! Couldn’t sit down at all. As it was the 4 was fine. Cap sleeves are restricting (hard to reach higher than shoulder height) regardless of size. 

Awesome dress that photographed beautifully for a work event.  Cut and style were perfect too!  Favorite dress so far. 

Fits true to size, but slightly tighter in the hips. Difficult to sit comfortably. The colors are vibrant and the style is classy. I loved this dress!

I really wanted to like this dress, but alas it just wasn't made for my body type. I sized up and it was still way too small. I was able to put it on, but literally couldn't sit down. The fabric was very thick and stiff, there was absolutely no give at all. Very pretty color and well made, just would not recommend this dress if you have an hourglass shape or full bust/hips.

Reviews are right, fabric is unforgiving. I did not find that it ran small; I probably could have worn a 6 but it would have been a bit uncomfortable. Very handsome dress but not quite as showstopping as I anticipated.

Great dress! I wore it to a weddings. It fits beautifully and I got tons of compliments. If you tend to be between sizes, go with the larger size - the fabric doesn't make it an easy dress to move around in, so helpful to have a little more room if you want to dance. 

Beautifully made dress, the colors are so rich! I loved everything about this dress and felt wonderful in it, the one thing to look out for is that the skirt is very tight - I had to wear the bigger size even though it was loose in my chest/arms/shoulders because the smaller size could not even get over my butt & hips. It definitely runs small. I also loved the length, it hit right at my knees and I'm 5'5'

Flattering, well-tailored, and pretty. Tons of compliments and reasonably comfortable. 

The color was slightly darker than I thought, but the dress is beautiful. I like the tailored look, but it was a little snug on my abdomen. The slip underneath that was part of the dress was snug around my hips and legs and I do not have big hips. This dress was perfect for the work awards banquet I attended, but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to do a lot of dancing. 

Cute dress! I forced myself to step away from lace (my current obsession) this time, and this dress didn't disappoint. Overall, I'd say it fits true to size and is a nice length, but with some tight areas - the cap sleeves (hard to lift arms up) and the bottom (tight when sitting down). And the pockets are an added bonus!

This dress is very classy, but the cut of the shoulders skirt are just different enough to make it interesting. The pockets are also a plus. The color is a very rich merlot in person and is super pretty. 

Love, love, loved the color(s) of this dress! And the jacquard fabric. Cap sleeves and retro silhouette also a plus. Found it to run small. I could still wear a 6 (my normal), but the waist was definitely snug and I couldn't raise my arms all the way (not an issue for photos, but for some it may be). 

The skirt narrows between your hip and the seam which is to be expected with this style. Be aware you may not be comfortable sitting for long periods of time or without something to cover your legs (like the table during our dinner reception) because you will likely need to hike up the skirt to sit comfortably. The color to the dress varies from photo to photo and depends on the lighting of the area. I kept jewelry to a minimum to let the dress speak for itself! 

The only oddity here is that I'm not sure the 18 was properly cleaned before I received it. Within ten minutes of putting the dress on my neck was swollen and breaking out in an allergic reaction. Thankfully it was only there and not a full body reaction. I wore the dress despite this reaction and tried not to be too conscious of what was happening between my face and the dress.. 

I needed to wear red for a work event. This seemed a little dressy/formal so I decided not to wear it. (Also, my 12 year old son said it looked like curtains - gotta love boys) Fits true to size. 

I wore this dress for my 40th birthday dinner party. It was just perfect! True to size. I wished if I could keep it lol. Received lots of compliments and it made my day!

This is a standout dress. The material and design are exquisite, and the quality outstanding. I wore a size 2. I didn't even try on my back up size 4 dress. It was a little difficult to get in and out of cars, but the dress was very flattering. I didn't want to take it off at the end of the evening.

This was an overnight back up dress for a wedding I went to. Very flattering, fit extremely well. However, when I sat down everything got very tight. So go up a size. I couldn't get the 8 (my normal size) over my bum, but the 10 did the trick. Just felt a bit constricting when seated. There is no give to the fabric. But this was a very classy dress. 

I got SO many compliments on this dress. I ordered it in a size 10 because reviews said to order up, but when it arrived, I was on the fence about wearing it because the fit was a little loose. I wore it with pearls and nude pumps, and it was a classy look. I LOVED the pockets. Great for a winter wedding.

The dress is very pretty but if you are large chested, I'm a 40D, you cannot wear any type of padded/push-up bra. I wound up duct tapping the girls into place because my usual bra from Torrid gave it a weird, lumpy look.  No bra just made me look saggy. The duct tape worked like a charm. I need to invent something similar like that because lots of time padded bras don't work for formal dresses.
I was a chaperone at a convention for high school students, so this dress was modest and comfortable for that. 
The zippers were pretty tough to pull up on two of the three dresses. I found the 18 to be tighter than the 16, which was odd.
Although very pretty, I wouldn't rent this dress again. The high neck bothered me and the sleeves were a bit tight causing me to pull the dress down all night. 

Sleeves were tight but other than that it fit great! Loved the color.

Lovely dress. Could have worn the smaller size but it felt just a tad tight. The larger size didn't look huge and felt more comfortable. Paired nicely with black tights for a winter ball. Colors not as bright as pictured but still beautiful!
