This dress fits true to size and is very comfortable. You can wear a normal bra. The sequins do rub up against your arm which could be annoying if you're wearing it a long time. I would re rent this. 

This dress was a fun option for a Mardi Gras party. It was comfortable in the fit and made for an easy dancing dress. I felt confident in this dress and thought it hugged in all the right spots. 

The sequins under my arm scratched me pretty much all night long. I had significant red bumps from the rubbing and scratches the next day. This is my only complaint from the dress, but still thought it was perfect for the night. 

It flowed as I walked.  It felt like I was wearing a heavy coat but with comfort.  Sitting was a challenge. I received many compliments but they recommended that I not wear the shawl on stage. I am glad I took the shawl off because the dress glittered on the stage. I would recommend this dress as long as it was not a sit-down affair.  

Oh man. I loved this dress. Wore it to a black tie wedding in DC this past weekend. I would say it runs pretty true to size... maybe a little big in certain areas. Despite the all over sequins, the dress is fairly stretchy. I got lots of compliments! I am 5'7" and the size 14 was JUST long enough to wear, even with flats - so tall girls beware! Lots of room for my "girls" and booty/hips. The sequins were scratchy on the inside of my arms, but it is what it is.

The sequins seemed to stock a little at the bottom, but other than that a great fit and style.

This was my backup but my first choice was just a bit too snug. However, I loved this dress and was very flattering on me! We had a great time and it was my first experience with RTR... I'll definitely try it again when I need it and rave to my friends and family! 

I got compliments all night!! I was able to go down a size and it still felt a little large. The sequins scraped under my arms, but it wasn't awful. Overall I loved this dress and it was perfect for the formal gala I was attending!

The zipper was very hard to zip up . I wore size 16 but usually 18. Was comfortable to wear 

This dress is so beautiful and glamorous.  It runs a little big - probably could've fit into a 12 but still the 14 was beautiful.  I didn't have the arm chafing from the sequins that some users mentioned.  So comfortable and you can wear a regular bra!

I got this dress for an amazing night out to the symphony & dinner for my boyfriends last night out before going back to Afghanistan. Let me tell you... this dress was AMAZING! I got compliments from strangers all night. I typically wear a 12/14 but tend to run larger in dresses so I got a 16 but decided to get a backup 14. The dress tends to run a bit bigger so I ended up with the 14 but probably could've gone with a 12. This dress was gorgeous & incredibly comfortable. I'm 5'5 and got the 14L, which was perfect length with my 4" heels!

I was so disappointed that the dress is selected wasn't available and this was shipped instead. The picture looked horrible and I was sure I'd hate the dress. Quite the opposite, this dress was stunning and I got tons of complements!  I was concerned the "belt" wouldn't look good on a larger sized woman but it was flattering and fun to wear. 

I loved wearing this dress and was sad to send it back. 

Dress fit nicely, straight cut. Can be a little heavy and it sticks together. Overall lots of compliments and i felt pretty. 

The dress fit great, extremely comfortable, stretchy.  The neckline was a little loose but wasn't that noticeable.  I wear size 18 jeans and wear 42D bra and I wore a 20 dress. I think I could have probably fit in an 18 but only ordered a 20.   

This dress was so comfortable to wear. It has a slight v in the back but you are able to still wear a regular bra. There is a slight train so I had to wear 3inch heels. Pairs well with different accessories. 

I normally wear a 16-18 but I'm 6 months pregnant so I sized up to a 20. It was perfect. The dress compliments my curves and is SO sparkly. I've actually rented this dress three times because I love it so much! One word of caution --the sparkles do cause a lot of under arm irritation. But it's worth it. 

I wore this dress to a formal gala and felt fabulous!! The dress fit was very flattering. I got tons of compliments. I usually wear black but loved that the black was just an accent to the beautiful gold color.  I loved the way the dress moved on the dance floor. The only concern was a little rubbing from the sequins under the arms. I would totally recommend this dress for the comfort, fit, beauty and fun!

I wore this for a Gatsby cocktail party. It is right in the tummy so beware! It is gorgeous and has a little stretch in the top!

This dress was a "this is the last one in my size because RTR messed up so I'll take it" dress.  I am kinda glad RTR messed up so horribly and I got to wear this gorgeous dress.  As soon as I walked out of the hotel room I received three compliments on the way to the lobby.  It was so comfortable.  The beading u see my arm did scratch a little and the dress ran a little big all over, but worked well.  I would definitely rent this again for another event.  It was very flattering and the slight train/flair at the bottom was a nice surprise :)

The problem: it wreaked of body odor when It arrived.  
I left it out in my guest room for two days but it still smelled.  
Kinda makes me wonder if they are actually laundering the dresses or not.

I work in television and I wore this dress to the Michigan Emmy Awards ceremony. The dress fit perfectly and felt like a dream! It was on the short side, I'm 5'4" and the dress hit right at the tops of my feet with 3" heels on. Yes, the dress was a little itchy in the underarm area because of the sequins, but it was tolerable. I usually wear either a 16 or 18 dress and the 16WR fit perfectly. Accentuates all the right areas while minimizing the bad ones. I felt like a million bucks all night and got tons of complements! Loved the way it moved when I walked! 

This was an absolutely amazing dress! Plus size girls, don't be afraid to wear something that has you standing out! 
My husband and I attended a formal gala/awards ceremony and I had compliments on this dress all night long! Plus size girls, this is a perfect dress. It does run short, but I'm also 5'3 so I wore kitten heels and it was the perfect height. Also, the sequins did scratch my arms a little, but it was manageable. 10/10 would rent this one again

I wore this dress to my law school Barrister Ball. It’s very comfortable and light weight. The sequins hurt my arms a little bit but it wasn’t terrible. I’m 5’3 and rented the regular size. I would order the long next time so I could wear higher heels and still have the train effect of the dress. I highly recommend this gown! 

I enjoyed wearing this dress to a formal party.  I wasnt sure how I'd feel about showing my arms, but the dress was so pretty it made me forget about my insecurity.  I received many compliments.  It was easy to dance in.  I did notice the next day that I had some scrapes on my arms from the sequence on the dress.  This is the reason i gave the dress 4 stars.  I could have possibly sized down because it was large on me up top and could have been slightly more form fitting on me, but it was comfortable for my taste. I would recommend this dress. 

Gorgeous dress. Made me feel so fancy for our Gatsby New Years party! My only dislikes were that I’m extremely busty (42 DDD) and the top of the dress was still big. I don’t know if the neckline was too stretched out from multiple rents but it didn’t lay as expected. The sequins also rubbed my under arms pretty badly. Just scraping them back and forth from moving. 

This dress was a backup dress, and I am so glad I picked it because my original style did not work out. I found the dress to be a bit long on me, even wearing 3" heels. I had to pick up the dress to walk up and down stairs, but it wasn't too much of a hassle. As the other reviews mention, the dress is more of a mermaid shape than implied. Most important of all, the dress was comfortable to eat and dance in!

This dress made me feel like a movie star. There are gorgeous pleats at the bottom that trumpet out, giving the dress incredible movement that makes you sparkle with every step. I normally wear a 14, and this dr as fit perfectly. The back is just low enough that I felt I should wear a backless bra. Length was perfect for me with 2 inch heels. I felt so glamorous in this dress and got compliments all night! This had been my back up look, but one look and it became the one and only! If you’re worried about wearing sequins- this dress wasn’t itchy at all. Super comfortable to wear, and very flattering fit.

My first rental with RTR was a little anxiety inducing, especially after the first dress I tried on was clearly NOT the one from me. But, THIS dress, with some help from a body shaper and the perfect pair of strappy black heels made me feel like a million bucks! Petite was perfect for my 5'2" height and while I usually opt for an 18, it was just too baggy on my frame so the 16 was surprisingly a perfect fit. I am super self conscious about my mid section and since this was more body hugging than I am used to, I had my doubts. The higher neckline let me feel more conservative and classy while the black piping near the waist line was high enough that I didn't feel that it drew more attention to my waist. The black undertone of this dress kept me from feeling like a disco ball but in the right light, the sparkle felt so pretty. Not a heavy feeling dress in total weight but heavy enough to drape gracefully. If your arms are heavier, you will get some scratches and feel a bit raw on the underside of your arms from the sequins. I didn't notice it that night, so it didn't matter then, but I sure did feel it the next morning. All in all, GREAT dress and great experience! I would absolutely rent this one again!

I rented this dress for a gala and the theme was silver and gold. It was perfect to celebrate in. I wore flats and the length was perfect, I'm 5'5". If you plan on wearing heels you might want to get a long length. I was able to wear a bra and spanks which is always a plus! 

I rented this dress to stand up an Old Hollywood themed wedding. It was a hit! I was complimented all night!! The dress fit great. It was very comfortable. While it is a form fitting dress, there is a little stretch so you have plenty of room for dancing! :)

I don't recommend wearing this for warm weather events. It was in the 90s all day & I was very warm. Other than that, this dress was absolute perfect ! 


The dress was fantastically forgiving. I was 5 months pregnant and felt comfortable the whole night. I normally would shy away from sequins, but as a whole, this dress was fantastic. The sequins under my arm did rub and feel uncomfortable, but not so much that I didn't want to wear the dress. It was a bit large, but I chose the larger of the two sizes for length considering my baby belly. Overall, I felt magnificent in this gown. 

I absolutely loved this dress & got compliments on it all night!  I felt amazing in it and it fit beautifully on my body (with some body shaping wear of course).  

I normally wear a size 16 jean, but I wore my backup size of a 14 for the wedding so either I need new jeans or this dress runs a little larger.  

My only "complaint" was I chaffed a little under my arm that kept rubbing up against the sequins.  I knew this could happen when I ordered the dress, but the chaffing wasn't that bad considering i have sensitive skin and it didn't bother me until around the 10hr in the dress so obviously it wasn't that bad!!! Knowing all this, I would STILL order it again.  I do not have enough good things to say about this dress!

I wore 2-2.5" heals and I didn't have a problem with the length at all!  I did have to keep watching behind me to make sure people didn't step on on the back of it since it is a little longer in the back. 

All in all: LOVE LOVE LOVE! Sad I had to return it  :) 

This was my first time using rent the runway and they did not disappoint! The dresses arrived in impeccable packaging with easy return instructions. It was so simple! The dress fit perfectly and I got so many compliments! I recommend getting the long because the train makes this dress! I'm only 5'5' but I've noticed other reviews suggested getting the long. It was SO fun to dance in! The sequins bothered my under arms a little but it was worth it to feel like a million bucks! I can't wait to rent another dress because my first experience was wonderful! 

This is actually the second time that I rented this dress for a formal military event. I love how the gold complements my husband's officer uniform. We attended the 75th anniversary of the battle of Midway in San Francisco and I received literally 100 compliments (from every age group) on this perfect dress! It fits like a dream with plenty of give, I really like the Modest bust line for these occasions.  It's super dreamy to wear, kind of heavy but in a really satisfying and rich feeling way.  I like this dress so much I would actually love to own it, even though I loathe to wear the same dress twice (which is why rent the runway is clutch!!) we go to so many of these occasions I feel like I could probably get away with it. This dress is perfection!!  

The dress fit perfect. I got the 18L as a backup and didn't need it. I wore 3 inch heels with the 18WR and I still had a train. I received so many compliments. The dress is heavy, but i wore in the winter for a Holiday party so it was perfect. I was able to freely dance, move - not tight sitting or in my mid section. It was perfect! I would absolutely rent again. 

I loved that I sparkled.  I loved the fit.  I loved everything about this dress!  What I didn't love, was that this is the first (and hopefully only) time Rent The Runway provided less than stellar service.  The dress was supposed to arrive on Thursday, but it did not.  Instead, I received a message that it would arrive on Friday.  Fine.  I'll roll with that.  So, Thursday, nearing the close of business, I note that the dress still had not shipped, so I called RTR.  The customer service representative was so incredibly rude and condescending.  I was concerned about fit, as I noted from the reviews that several people noted that it fit large.  So, basically she said that if it doesn't work, to call by 5pm on Friday and they could get me a new dress for Saturday.  Well, I work.  So i'm not sitting at home all day Friday to wait for a dress to arrive.  I was contacted on Friday by email, mid-morning, by a different RTR rep who informed me that only one of my sizes (the larger of the two) would ship.  That was so incredibly frustrating.  I finally asked about them sending the correct (and originally requested size), which they then offered to send the petite and a similar style in the size I originally requested.  It was just an exhausting experience and I was nervous that they wouldn't come through.  Thankfully they did, but only with two short hours to spare.  I'm not sure if I would trust them for a formal event again, especially in a case like this where I had nothing else in my closet to wear.  But, alas, the dress was perfect.  I would definitely rent it again!  

Great dress overall. I do wish it fit a little tighter. Rubbed a bit under my arms. Got numerous compliments all throughout the night!
