I wore this for a Mardi Gras ball, and it was lovely. I don't wear heels at all, so the dress was a bit long for my 5'5". I also usually wear a 6, but this dress was too large on me. Consider ordering a size smaller. The fabric of this dress has a weight to it, making the dress flow easily. It does have a small train, so make sure to lift it while walking in a crowd.

When my main dress in both what I thought I was size and the next size up didn't fit ... I almost panicked. This dress fit beautifully!

Loved this dress! I had a baby 11mo ago and was looking for a form fitting conservative/classic dress that would be forgiving where needed! Perfect dress for that. Dress is great for larger chests (no built in support though). If you wear shape wear it will show if your under garment is too tight- factor that in. I went without it and the fabric didn’t punish me for it. I definitely recommend!

I didn’t get to wear this as it was just too big in the bodice, but the inside of this gown is softer than any dress I’ve ever worn! The thickness of the dress allows comfort without spanx, definitely low cut so keep that in mind. I think this dress runs one size large. Even with my DD chest, I could grab a handful of excess material in the back. I normally run between a 6-8 dress size, mainly because I have wider hips.

Rented for a work gala event in August. Material didn't wrinkle was stretchy plenty of room, and comfortable.

This was a last minute replacement gown for a formal wedding, and I was pleasantly surprised by it! I have a very narrow frame and a small bust and felt very comfortable in this gown. The cut and heavier fabric were flattering, while still allowing me room to breathe and eat. The high low hemline was perfect for me, I am 5'2 and wore 3 inch heels. Overall a very classic, foolproof black gown.

The material, almost crepe style, was flowy, light weight and perfect for summer ball. I'm much smaller, with very little lift, on top compared to my hips and this dress was a dream. Was able to wear a standard strapless bra, had to pull the back band just a bit from the deep back v, but didn't need to invest in a low plunge or back strapless bra. While I needed a bra for lift, dress would work without one and some tape, if you choose that way too. Did gap on me a bit in the chest when seated for dinner, but boobs weren't ever going to fall out. If you have a larger chest, but be comfortable with cleavage. The train was a fun addition to the simple dress. At 5'5'' the long was a bit much, but the only size option available when I rented. Long was perfect on the front at it barely showed my shoes, might have felt too short in front with regular length.

This dress was too big but fit well enough for the night. Made from heavy fabric, it had substance and moved just right. It was wrinkly though, so I suggest planning to steam it before you wear it. I’d own this dress if I went to more events.

Look: loved it for a formal event - wore it to a military black tie event. just enough cute and not too sexy. Just right. Fit: I am 4'11 so I am VERY short and I was worried about the fit but with my highest heels I had about 5-6inches of a train which looked elegant but disclaimer: if you are short, expect to pick up the dress a lot while dancing and such. Otherwise not really a problem. Also, It runs pretty largely in the bust area. I have big chest muscles and broad shoulders (powerlifter) and it fits just ENOUGH for me to use some boob tape and double-sided tape. If you are short but petite in the shoulder and chest area I DO NOT recommend this dress. I am a 32B, very small boobs but a broad chest. Lastly, if you have wide hips or are curvy you can fill out the dress pretty well. I loved how it hugged my shape- bust part is the issue. Feel: high quality! impressed Shipping: shipped on time, easy return- thought RtheR was a hoax but seriously- will 1000% be using this site for my formal events Overall: 9/10 experience, only 9 because of the length and my original package from RtheR was stolen- pro tip: make sure you deliver to a SAFE address! I live in NYC UWS and should've known better but it's been resolved.

The dress was much shorter than I expected. I'm 5'6" and was wearing shorter heels than normal - and it barely hit my ankles. I could have gone 2-3" longer. I wish the straps were adjustable, but it was fine as long I kept good posture. Overall, it was a safe option! Nice thick fabric so it didn't show too much, was pretty flattering and very comfortable!

This dress is perfect! I'm short and it was great with 2 inch heels. The train was a bit long but nothing I couldn't dance in. I used sticky boobs and had no issues. It fits to a T and I got compliments all night. The earrings are also RTR

The fit is form-fitting but not too tight. Followed the advice of other reviewers and sized down (I am a toss up between an 8 and 10, and the 8 fit perfectly with this one). The fabric is thick enough that you don't need a bra. The back is slightly longer than the front, just an FYI. Would absolutely recommend!

This dress was beautiful and flattering! I didn't have to wear any Spanxs which is a huge plus. There is a bit of a train and it was raining, so the bottom got a bit wet but it wasn't a big deal. I can't wear heels and the dress was perfect with dressy flats. I am small chested and the top was a big but, again, it wasn't a big deal. I got tons of compliments!

I added this dress to my Unlimited order as a back up, but it turned out to be the dress for the big event. It is very well constructed and with very good material. It looks like a simple black dress but it's actually very gorgeous black dress. I got so many compliments. I would totally rent this dress again!

I am glad I read most of the reviews and looked at photos for women my age. Most reviews said it ran big so I got a 6 (normal) and a 4. I know better in quality dress I am a 4, and that is what I wore. The 6 was saggy in bust and waist. I am 58 and not as tight as I used to be. Important to know because I felt very good in this dress. I wore a strapless bra for some lift as I am small chested. My tummy was a little bloated but it did not matter. The lining is good quality and thick so it didn't show and it was super comfortable to walk, sit and dance in. I almost wanted the petite for length but the 4R worked great. I wore 2" heels and the front just touched my toes and the back hit the floor! The dress is heavy when you pick it up but not on. I would recommend this dress. I also got a second dress free and chose the red BADGLEY MISCHKA Ruby Red Gala Gown and would have worn that if I got a size 6, only because I like colors more. I went safe with black as my first choice. I was not totally happy with the ordering and facilitation process. I didn't see a screen to verify before I ordered and would have made some changes. It didn't take my coupon code even though the amount was there when I entered by cc number. I had to call for a refund which was provided, but it was not the easiest purchase process. I might try RTR again but there are other rentals so I have to see.

My weight is considerably higher than usual, so I went to the 14 thinking...maybe...and go the 16 as a backup. Well, I should have gotten the 12L with the 14 as a backup. It was a bit large in the top and waist area. People on here said it runs a little big and it is forgiving plus there's a tiny bit of stretch. But, it's gorgeous. I got SO many compliments. Oh, and if you are over 5'8" or so....be sure to get the long. This was barely long enough for me with a good heel. I would love to own this dress. Would rent again in a heartbeat.

The dress is well suited for larger chests. It does run a bit large, so recommend the smaller size as a backup. Loved this and would rent again.

This dress was GORGEOUS! More than I could have expected. I wore it for a black tie formal wedding. It was elegant and classy. The perfect dress to add any color jewelry and dress yourself up! I got so many complements on this dress.

The material is slightly stretchy, so it kinda runs big. I typically go with 4, but I got 2 as backup. The 2 did perfect, so I recommend going down a size. I got compliments all night on my dress. I wore it with gold jewelry & carried a black & gold bag. Even though it really is just a black dress, the shape adds beauty & class to the whole look, which makes it perfect for formal events.

This dress is definitely a great last minute pick for any formal event. It's super comfortable and fits amazing on full bust figures. I wouldn't be surprised if this dress wasn't the same flattering shape on smaller chests.

I felt like old Hollywood royalty wearing this dress! It runs large - I normally wear a 10-12 and wore an 8R, and I would've tried on the 6 if it was available since the waist was still a little loose. I am very busty (34H) and had plenty of room up top. I taped my boobs a la Kim Kardashian since I couldnt find a bra that worked. I think if I had sized down, I wouldn't have needed a bra at all. Im 5'6" and wore 3 inch heels, and the train hit the floor perfectly. The material is thick and doesnt show lumps, so although I wore Spanx, you dont really need them. The dress was simply stunning, and I would purchase it if I could!

I wore this dress to a very formal black tie wedding. The material was very think which made it flattering and appropriate for a late November wedding. It fit me like a glove! I loved the dress and wanted to wear it everywhere!

I ordered the regular length as advised for my height of 5'4", and it was perfect with 3.5" heels. It fit well everywhere and was very comfortable. The back is low cut, so I wore an adhesive bra. I would definitely recommend this dress!

The dress is longer in back than in front. I am 5' 6" and the front was ankle length, leaving the back as a train with no heels. I wore it with heels most of the night, getting the train off the floor. It is supremely elegant and comfortable. I wore it without a bra and the fabric was thick enough to hide nippage. A larger chested individual might want to go for a front sticky bra or a low backed strapless, anything else would show.

The fabric is a bit heavy, in a good way. It drapes so beautifully and somehow managed to just "ignore" any trouble areas with a post baby physique. I've never worn such a well made dress. I was complemented all night. For a solid black dress, this one stood out and made me feel so beautiful.

Loved the dress! I'm 120 lbs and a 34D and it fit well! Requested sizes 2 and 4, but potentially could have worn a 0. I'm 5'2" and wore 3 inch heels and it still dragged on the floor a little bit. Sturdy and beautiful fabric and incredibly comfortable to wear. Easy to walk around in.

I rented this for a military ball and it was perfect. It's elegant and sophisticated and I spiced it up with a nice necklace. I ordered my normal size and a smaller size and the smaller size fit perfectly. I recommend this dress!

I usually wear a size 2 or 4 depending on the designer. I tried on a size 0 at the store and i felt that it fit fine. I went home and ordered the 0 and size 2 as a backup. I ended up wearing the size 2 in the end. They almost felt like the same size but the 2 fit a little better. Such a beautiful, flattering, and comfortable dress. It's a bit low in the front but won't be as obvious of a cleavage if you are an A or B cup I think.

Loved this dress! I got so many compliments and I got really lucky that it ran bigger because the size I normally need wasn't available! I normally wear an 8 or a 10 depending on the fit and had ordered a 10 to be safe. I'm glad RTR was able to overnight me the 8 because it fit perfectly. My only complaint isn't about the dress, but more about RTR, this wasn't the dress I originally ordered and it wasn't the sizes i originally ordered. Twice I was emailed in the last week before my even that the dress I needed was "no longer available." While I got lucky and this dress ended up being perfect, there were others at my event that had to go shopping the day of our event. And out of at least 7 of us who ordered with RTR, 7 of us had problems of this nature.
