Chic, soft, cool
The shape of this jacket was a little tough to style at first- it is a wide swing jacket so you need a slim waist to keep it from looking too voluminous. Once I figured that out, I loved it. The jacket is a soft brushed velvet in a pretty powder blue that is bright enough to be flattering on most skin types. The button is silver but it is so shiny it picks up a lot of color and you really can’t tell if it is light gold or silver once you are out and about. Most of all it was soooo comfortable. Very soft and warm and relaxed. The cut of the shoulder is sloped so it can fit even petites well. I wore it here with brown silk pants, and again with a burgundy floral skirt. Both looked great and had a different aesthetic. So versatile and cool.

Funky and classic at the same time
The cut of this, and being knit felt very St. John. I loved the gold buttons, and the length was perfect for my short torso. The pattern read as funkier- wild horses in blue and brown. Overall, I loved it - wore it with both a leather skirt pictured here, and jeans. Glad I went with the small. It was form fitting but not at all restrictive.

This was a fun date night dress. Purple and orange velvet that was both thin and breathable, and warm and soft. The neckline is very low cut. The skirt was short but not tight- fit me perfectly. I’d say TTS. If you have really wide hips, size up. If you have a small bust, you may want to size down.

This felt like a costume from the set of Clueless or The Nanny in the best way. It was form fitting but not too snug. Tweed button down, with additional snaps at the bust and stomach which I really appreciate. It will be short on most people. I am 5’2 and it was work appropriate in flats, but felt too sexy with heels. A little bulky as well, but good for cold weather.

Instantly elevated

I match the French ambassadors furniture!
I wore this to several Mardi Gras cocktail to semi-formal events in one evening. It was absolutely perfect for the freezing cold weather. I felt sexy and cool but stayed warm and comfortable. The cut is very low- I had to wear a plunge bra. The length was INSANE- I’d say 6” too long total. I am 5’2. I used fashion tape to hem 4”, and wore heels. It was worth the effort- this dress was stunning. Got tons of compliments, and even matched the French ambassadors velvet chairs. 🤪 read the La DoubleJ size guide- my measurements matched the small and it was TTS.

Effortless elegance
This dress was absolutely stunning. Bias cut silk, bell sleeves, exposed back. It fit like a dream. Length was perfect for petites - I am 5’2 and it was ankle length on me. I wore it for a cocktail reception and dinner- I got so many compliments, and felt effortlessly cool and comfortable. 10/10 may buy it at some point.

Quirky and fun
I loved this top! It was fun and quirky and perfect for transitional weather when it can be both warm and chilly in the same day. I loved the material- it is very soft and stretchy, but holds its shape very well. I am glad I went with the small. It was not too tight and felt very comfortable while still being form fitting. I paired it with the red Le Jean jeans, and with a navy Milly circle skirt for a dressier look. It was versatile while still being funky and fun.

Way more versatile than you think!
I’m going to have a hard time sending these back. They were SO versatile and added personality to every outfit. I wore them with this Farm Rio sweater, and with a Rachel Antonoff turtleneck, both on RTR. The fit is TTS but if you are between sizes, I would size down. I am consistently a 26, and they fit perfectly but do stretch out. I needed a belt by the third wear. The barrel leg is subtle but on trend. The bum is flattering and length is perfect for petites.

Perfect for the holidays
This is the perfect winter sweater. It’s so versatile and feels festive without being literal. The only improvement that could be made would be to add pockets! It is naturally oversized- I took the XS and it fit like a small or medium in other brands. I wore it for both Thanksgiving, and a Christmas party and it looked great for both. Soft, easy, interesting.

Perfect skirt for leather weather
I love the look of leather for fall, but most of it is not work appropriate for curvy figures. This skirt is the exception! It is charming and flattering but refined and professional. I love the length and the circle cut. It’s a fully functional wrap skirt that snaps rather than using a tie. There is a small side buckle that keeps it from opening if it comes unsnapped (this was never an issue for me). Overall, I loved it!

Find your size and it’ll look great!
The sizing on this is way off. A medium was borderline snug in the bust for me- I am 32/26/36 and usually an XS/2. It was floor length for me as well - I am 5’2. I wore 3” heels and it was perfect length. I couldn’t wear it with flats. The sizing challenges aside, the dress fit beautifully. I wore it to emcee an art auction and it read as both artistic and elevated. The fabric is a thin cotton almost gauze. It was see through on the white parts and I had to wear a slip with the dress. The pattern looked like painted and hand drawn flowers. The colours were beautiful and autumnal.

I loved this vest- it was versatile and flattering and the perfect accent for fall. I wore it pictured here with an Ulla Johnson dress, and wore it with jeans and a bow blouse. I found it to be an ideal layering piece because it is flattering and creates a waist for long, flowing, thick or voluminous fall fabrics. The size 2 was great for layering because there was just a little extra room. If you want to wear this solo or with something very thin, I’d size down.

90s school teacher
There was something nostalgic about this dress - it felt like something one of my elementary teachers would have worn in the 90s. I think it would have felt more modern if it were a tad shorter, or maybe if I had sized down. As it was, I found it hard to style without a belt or vest. I wore it here with both- the vest is Ralph Lauren on RTR. It helped create some shape to make it more flattering on my petite frame. Overall, it was interesting but felt overworn and oversized. I’m typically a 2 in Ulla and even the 0 was large. I do think it would be a good dress for a multitude of costumes- from the ghost family in Beetlejuice, to Ann of Green Gables.

Party perfect
I wore this for a bridal shower, and several times after for work/brunches because I loved it so much! The cut is extremely flattering- I love when buttons are close together through the torso and chest. It creates a corset like look that is very flattering. The fabric of this dress is so charming- celestial ans romantic with stars, moons, hearts and bows. ✨🌛❤️🎀. The dress is fully lined with deep pockets. Midi length for me. The size 2 was TTS and fit perfectly.

Runs way big but still chic
This dress is a beautiful silk - light and voluminous. The cut would be really cute if it weren’t so big. The XS was probably two sizes too big on me. I had to really cinch the tie waist which made the bust gather weird- it was so low cut it made it too revealing for work and also just didn’t look right so I had to fashion tape the neckline down to mitigate the extra fabric from needing to gather the waist so much. It was just wonky. It would be beautiful on a taller, bustier person! It was just too much fabric for me. Wore it anyways bc I liked the fabric but only once. Could be a good transitional piece, or work in fall with tights.

Easy and feminine
I was surprised when realized this dress is a stretch cotton poplin. I am not sure what I thought it was, but I assumed the fabric had more drape - it does not. It is quite structured, and has a definite spring/summer feel to it. The fabric is a beautiful bright floral. Like all Shoshana dresses, it is very flattering and comfortable. Deep pockets, cinched belted waist, slim shoulders and high cut arms. It was easy to toss on and look great. TTS for Shoshana- I could have probably sized down and it would have been fine but this was comfortable.

A blank canvas
I got a few rounds of wear out of this because it was such an easy blank canvas. That being said- it definitely needs styling. I’d say this runs TTS. The top was definitely tight on my bust. The shoulders are very narrow. The waist sits very high. I have a short torso and it was a little short for me. It may look closer to a princess cut if you have a bigger chest and long torso. Adding a belt helped define the waist. It was tea length for me at 5’2, and the top is a thick ribbed knit with very little give. It did not stretch out at all. The skirt is cotton poplin.

Loved this dress for transitional fall weather. It is a thick camel tweed with true gold buttons. The shape has a slight curve- not a true boxy shift. It made the dress a little more flattering for an hourglass figure. I am glad I went with a 4, though it was a tad large, it kept the dress comfortable because it is so short. Had the dress been more snug, it likely would have ridden up or been too short if I raised my arms. Going a size up kept it professional for the office. Overall it was great for the awkward in between fall weather. I’d probably rent it again, but it wasn’t the most attractive dress either. It reads as conservative and classic.

Stodgy in a charming way
This was a great transitional piece. It’s still 80+ degrees in October here, and I wanted to start feeling fall even though it didn’t feel like fall! This did the trick. It is a lightweight boucle knit in dark green with black trim and antiqued bronze buttons. The fabric is thick but breathable. The short sleeves, and high/low hemline make it slim and comfortable for warmer temps, while still being warm in cooler temps. I knocked off a star because it was cute but just not a knockout for me. It was a little fussy to style because of the hem - you couldn’t tuck it in, and you need to wear high waisted bottoms to make it work. I tried several skirts but none really worked with it. I have a very short torso, so this wasn’t cropped on me, but it probably would be for a taller person.

Gorgeous!
I set an alert to try this top and I’m so glad I did! It exceeded expectation. It has a silk placket and buttons, and is a beautiful floral navy lace. It does not come with a tank or undershirt. It was so comfortable and classic. I perfectly matched the Veronica Beard Dell pants - like, literally a smaller version of the same floral pattern in the lace. It looked intentional! This top also dressed down easily with jeans. Absolutely loved it and will hate to send it back.

Runs small - dramatic effect
I rented this for a ball and it served its purpose but I probably wouldn’t rent it again. 1) it ran large- I rented both a 2 and a 4. I am typically a 2, but in this dress the 2 was skin tight on the bum/hips. Unfortunately, the 4 was a little big in the top. I had to pin my bra straps to the dress. This is definitely a cut for straight figures, or those who really want to show off every curve. It was bodycon on me. I am 5’2 and it went right to the floor- I wore modest 4” heels and it was fine. The dress is silk and shows every drop of water - I had to be extra careful drinking. Overall- it was fine but fussy and I didn’t feel comfortable in it. Would be a great dress if you are more straight and tall.

Great as a suit, meh solo
These pants were a little underwhelming compared to the killer matching jacket. They are unlined and quite itchy. The size is TTS- I am glad I went with the 4, they fit like a glove. For reference, I am typically a 26 in jeans, 26 waist/36 hip. These are high waisted and fit both comfortably. The length was ankle on me, but I am quite short. They are likely capris on a taller person. The waist is wide and substantial with two hooks and two buttons. It made it bulky with anything other than the matching jacket (which they looked great with… but I was hoping for more versatility.)

Très chic!
This suit is truly stunning- and like most VB - it’s all about the jacket. It’s hard to find a short sleeved jacket that makes sense but this one is classic and comfortable. I love the fabric- I think it is a black and navy floral brocade. The colour is so dark it’s hard to tell. There is a split hem which is so flattering for curvy figures and short torsos. You will need to wear high waisted pants with it for that reason. I am a 32/26/36 and the 2 jacket was perfect. No notes!

Great concept, ran large
Loved the idea of this dress- the stripped skirt, button down top, and cuffed sleeve sash were all charming. Unfortunately this dress ran very large on me. Voluminous fabric ballooned on the back, long length was closer to tea than midi, wide waist and very wide sleeves that were too big to keep pushed up but too long to be attractive. Overall, I made it work with some clever tucking, tight cinching, and fashion tape. It is very high quality and truly charming- just not for petites. I only docked one star because it was a great dress despite the size issues.

A true travel companion
I took this dress to Europe for two weeks and it was perfect. I even wore it for 12 miles of walking the city, followed by 6 hours on a train. It was comfortable, and versatile. I easily dressed it up with heels and nice jewelry, and schlepped around in Birkenstock sandals. The pattern is one of my favourites- it reads as very neutral. Note: if you have rented the shorter version of this, the ties are very different. On the short version, the ties are more like fabric ribbons. On this, the ties are a structural part of the dress. They are closer to a self-tie sash on other dresses. One goes directly over the bust to hold it closed. Another cinches the waist to fit.

Weird fit
I am not sure if I should have sized down in this or what. The fit was weird and I didn’t wear it. The waist was wide, and the back drooped because it was too long, but the front shoulder line hit correctly. It didn’t make sense to me. The skirt was very short- no way I would have worn it to work, even if everything else fit.

Easy and interesting
This was an easy dress to throw on and go. Lightweight, but lined, deep pockets, adjustable waist, modest neckline. I wore it several times, for everything from a day at the office to an outdoor concert. I knocked off a star bc it wasn’t a total knockout. The waist was a tad wide and extra bulk from the lining were a little unflattering. Didn’t stop me from wearing it several times in a row!

The perfect nice dress for travel
This dress was a 10/10 for me! It is a stretchy crepe that looks great straight out of the suitcase. It also packs up so small compared to other formal-ish dresses I’ve traveled with. The fabric has a little weight to it so it was warm and forgiving, but it was still light enough that I was comfortable walking around in the high 70s. The ruching down the front makes it very flattering. The pattern is gorgeous- I got so many compliments. I am pretty short, and it just skimmed my ankles. I was able to wear it with flats (we were walking from our hotel to dinner and the opera), but I had to pick up the skirt to go up stairs comfortably. Im usually between XS and S. I am glad I went with a small - it kept me comfortable but if you want something more form fitting, Id go down/TTS. I plan to rent this again for a fall destination wedding. It can definitely be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Perfect dress no notes!

Short but cute
This dress was cute but I only wore it once because: 1) it’s quite short. I am 5’2 and it was verrrry short even with flats. 2) the fabric is an orange, slightly metallic tweed. It was quite hot. 3) it was a weird mix of modern (big plastic white zipper) and classic (Chanel like tweed). The juxtaposition honestly didn’t work for me- it made styling confusing and didn’t really feel work appropriate. I would have loved it for a sorority event in college.

I had a lot of fun styling this dress different ways. It was a perfect blank canvas for whatever look you are feeling. Flattering, deep pockets, easy. TTS and maybe a little large. A perfect dress
This is truly one of my favourite summer dresses. It’s so easy, the leopard print is perfect- not tacky, not too cutesy, just right. The length is ideal for hot summer days. Charming and confusing
I echo the sentiments of other reviewers about this dress. Am I wearing a table cloth? Is this chic and Provençal? Is this matronly and fussy? I don’t know. I vacillated the whole time I was wearing this dress. Pros: It is very comfortable. I’d say it runs slightly large. I’m in an XS and I could probably take in two inches on the waist- but the looseness keeps it easy and effortless. The draped capelet made it interesting enough it needed very little styling. The fabric is 100% cotton so it’s very breathable, even though it is fully lined. It was not see through which is rare for white! Cons: This is not flattering for curvy figures. The cut of the dress is literally a rectangle. The cape on top adds volume so if you are broad shouldered, or big busted I think it will be awkward. There are no pockets, and it does wrinkle quite quickly. All that being said, I wore it a couple of times. It was easy to throw on with sandals. I think you could probably dress it up with heels but that kind of defeats the point of the dress to me. It reads as an improvised shift made from a table cloth and gives off a laid back air of “I don’t care about your opinions”.

Easy weekend look
The fabric on this dress was beautiful. The main body is a warm pink and grass green floral pattern almost like tulips. The bottom is a contrasting cool toned magenta and teal floral pattern. The underbust through hip area is smocked so fit is effortless. There is very little structure to the smocking so it will show every bulge - I opted for spanx. For this reason, you can pull the dress on over your head as well. The buttons only function to the bust. The length was very long on me- it nearly dragged the ground in flats. The hem got wet when we ran into a flash shower. Overall the dress was fine, but a little finicky for me between the smocking, length, and fabric that needed to be steamed.

Feminine and flattering

Smart and effortless
This is one of those dresses that you wear repeatedly because it is so easy. The skirt + collar make it feel like a complete outfit. Fit is TTS for Shoshana. It is a little short. If you are very tall this may not be the dress for you. The top is made of a stretchy rib knit and there is a side zip to get into the dress. The knit is very forgiving, almost loose. I probably could have sized down if not for the length. The skirt is cotton poplin and prone to wrinkling. I had to steam it a couple of times.
