Chose this for a late October cocktail-attire wedding; the fabric was soft and comfortable and kept me warm during the outside ceremony without being too much for the indoor reception. I got tons of compliments, but the cutouts (front and back) gapped more than I anticipated. Wore with a stick-on NuBra (cutouts do not allow for a regular or strapless bra). Color is closer to navy than purple (darker than my monitor shows), but was really flattering. Compared to another Halston dress I've rented, this one was stretchier and fit more true to size.

Ordered this for my little sister (5'8, 120 lbs., street size 2 or 4) to wear to my wedding, so selected the one-week rental period and am SO GLAD we did - the size 4 dress arrived with a huge tear in the front hem (like someone had stepped through it), the metal boning was poking out on one side, and there was the beginning of a rip in the top center seam of the neckline. I believe the size 6 was in better shape, but was too big for my sister. RTR customer service was apologetic and offered a partial credit, but we had to do a quick home-sewing job on the hem and bodice to make the dress wearable for the wedding. I hope the 4 is professionally repaired or removed from rotation, as it's really not in appropriate shape. Other than that - the print is beautiful and my sister loved wearing the dress - just wish it had been fixed prior to being sent!

Fabric was pleasantly softer than images of the dress suggest; skirt has one layer of crinoline to provide volume. Very narrow racerback neckline required some undergarment modification - I McGuyvered a hair tie to pull my bra straps together in front, but a multi-way that allows you to do a front-cross would also work. As a broad-shouldered girl, I wouldn't call this dress super-flattering, but it was fun and comfortable to wear and just right for an outdoor spring wedding.

Wore this as a winter 'date night' dress with stilettos and swiss-dot-patterned sheer stockings and got loads of compliments! Only observation is that the fabric doesn't have much strectch, so for me the fit in the shoulders/arms was a bit tight while the waist cutouts gapped just a tiny bit.

Rented this as a "wild card" option for a dressy (not black-tie) wedding. I was disappointed in the material (thin stretch jersey)...a more substantial fabric would have made the cut look more like a dress rather than an apron. The length counteracts the very open back somewhat, but it's definitely a 'naked' dress...even the skirt lining is very short!

Wore this in size M to a friend's outdoor wedding on one of the hottest days in the summer...besides getting a little wrinkly while seated, the dress was comfortable, breathable, and looked great! Fabric is high-quality with no show-through. Straps are a little long; I probably could have worn the S just as easily, but liked the skirt length and ease of the M. Wish I could've kept it for other summer events!
