Run don't walk - it's an investment piece!
The large left enough room to layer and still move around well. The XL swallowed me up but even in the larger size it was a great piece for everything - wear over a suit to a meeting, layer with a sweater and jeans for errands, toss over a dress in the fall when it's cloudy and damp but it's still too warm for a full-on winter coat. Try it for size then just buy the thing! You'll use it for years.

Perfect for work and weekends - just make sure to get the size right!
This works best with a tight fit, and it runs fairly large and loosens up as you wear it so size down if you can (I definitely will next time I rent). It's also quite long so it's perfect if you have a long torso or arms like I do. The color is gorgeous, the pattern is very unique and flattering (especially for a larger chest), and it's not too heavy or hot so it's very versatile.

I wore this with faded black jeans and navy blue pants. Both looks were perfect for everyday.
The color was a bit dingier than I expected. The background color is more beige/light tan, not light blue as expected based on the pictures. The colors still work though and can match with just about any neutral because of the shades in the plaid (navy, gray, brown, black). It's more of a cropped length so looks better with higher waist pants and skirts. The cut is not oversized so size up if you want that look.

The fit could have been tightened up some, but a large might have been just a tad too small and I didn't want to risk it. Either way, pure silk is worth every penny and feels great on the skin. Colors are great and the cut is very versatile for a lot of occasions (office, weekend with jeans, with a mini skirt for date night, etc.). Size down for a more fitted look but this still looks great if it's a little flowy-er. Might consider buying if the price comes further down into my budget range.

I wore this for a birthday dinner with a black bodysuit and high-heeled boots. Looked awesome!
The skirt does stretch out as you wear it, so I probably could have done a large instead of XL for a more fitted look. Also, unless you're 5'10 or taller, the length might give you some issues. Midi skirts can look good if they hit you in the right place on the leg, but I'm 5'6 which is fairly tall, and most "midis" like this one come out ankle-length on me which looks pretty dowdy unless the skirt is narrowly cut. Can't imagine how someone more petite would do. I'd say skip this unless you're already quite tall, willing to wear some pretty high heels with it, and are brave enough to size down for more of the va-va-voom effect.

Great not-too-little bag!
I rented this for my bachelorette weekend to coordinate with a navy dress I wore out Saturday night, but the bag was bigger than the pictures suggested and the finish looked a bit more casual, so I saved it to use at brunch the next morning with the girls. The size was perfect for daytime - large enough to fit your wallet, cell phone, keys and some makeup or pens besides, but not so large it overwhelms your frame. It's convertible so if you prefer it as a large clutch you can do that, but I used the strap. I loved the leather lining - you rarely see it, and it's easier to clean if something marks the inside. This purse is on my watch list to buy now, when I find the money to splurge on it!

The perfect night-out dress!
I rented this for my bachelorette party in New York, and it was perfect! I didn't even bother trying on the larger size when it came in because the 10 fit perfectly. The waist hit me in the right place, and the fabric has enough give but is still strong enough that it holds you in somewhat. I wore Spanx with it and my butt looked awesome (my lower half is larger and I tend to hide it normally, so being able to flaunt it was great!). My chest is relatively small so I was able to go braless, which is good because the backless part will show any kind of non-backless bra. The length was not too short on me either because I'm at least 3 inches shorter than the model - on my height it passed the fingertip test, at least until I went crazy with the dancing. Bending over is ill-advised :-). This is the perfect sparkly party dress for showing off on a night out in the city. I wore neutral gray stilettos with it, danced all night and got all sorts of compliments and attention - until I showed them my ring and "Bride to Be" sash! Definitely a rental I will do again, for the hubby this time...
