I'm between a 4 and 6 and though I ordered both, I went with the 4. No need to wear a bra but I wore a strapless just for some extra oomph. I wore 2 in heels (closed toe) and am 5"4 and I think the length was perfect. If you want to wear higher shoes I recommend going with the long length as others have suggested. The material is heavy, so it was great for a fall/winter wedding which this event was. I received many compliments and would absolutely wear this again!

Normally I wear a size 6 but was bold in getting a size 4 instead- fit great! Fitted on top and lose at the bottom. I still wore my shaper-shorts underneath just to smooth everything out, but the pattern and cut really hide lots. Heavier material which was perfect for a fall daytime event. Received many compliments!
