Maybe the right size would've changed my mind...
I got this dress in a size 6 because of all the glowing reviews to wear to a black-tie wedding in Charleston, SC but after I put it on it just sort of sagged on me. I'm fairly confident that sizing down would've really changed the look of the dress (especially because the hips have the added "poufs") and my overall decision to take it with on the trip. But alas, another beautiful dress got an opportunity to shine instead! So note to my fellow long, lean ladies (5'7", small bust, typically wears a 4, 120lbs) if you think you're "between sizes", just size down.

I could live in this dress
For starters, the back of this dress is *chef's kiss*, perfection and of course I don't have a single photo to prove it! But I ordered a 6 as the primary size but ended up wearing the 4 because it fit like it was made for me. The material is gorgeous and very forgiving (no need to steam unless you really packed it like a madwoman). I didn't wear a bra but I will say after breastfeeding my girls aren't what they used to be (I wear about a 32B these days...) so I could see some tape or sticky bra for our fuller-busted gals. Shoes were an easy pick for this dress, I went pretty neutral and wore a pair of cream suede lace-up heels and they were perfect. Highly recommend for a black-tie wedding! So many compliments were received :)

A classic shift dress that killed
I usually am way too self conscience of my legs to ever consider wearing a shift dress (especially after having a baby hah!) but we were attending a rehearsal dinner in Charleston, SC and I just kept coming back to this dress. It was perfect! I paired it with sheer black tights, black heels and it was just so flattering and received so many compliments on the sequin detailing. The material is amazing in that (thankfully) you don't have to steam it since it has a more structured fabric. I'm a fairly tall, long, lean build (5'7", 120lbs, generally wears size 4) and wore a small and it fit beautifully.
