RTR sent this to me as a backup when another I ordered wasn't available. It is truly a stunning gown. The material is rich and both looks and feels sleek and stunning. My favorite part of the dress is something that you can't quite make out in these pictures, which is that there is a layered effect at the back -the slanted panel from the front extends diagonally to the floor and is then topped with a satin panel cascading down the back. It gives you an almost train and a definitely beautiful wavy flutter when you walk.

When I walked into the room in this dress my boyfriend got up to touch the lace saying "Wow..." The picture doesn't do this dress justice. The plunging neckline is the perfect length, the slit adds a classy pop of sexiness and the back is different and playful. This is why I love and have been using Rent the Runway since 2009. Thursday afternoon, I received a call from RTR that the Crimson Cutout dress I had ordered over 6 months ago had been returned in "unwearable condition" by the previous renter. The black tie wedding I was attending was less than 48 hours later in LA, so I panicked. I had been to the Showroom twice to find the perfect dress and nothing else was going to measure up -especially not the leftovers. While I flipped out, Sheridan (RTR customer service) remained calm. She overnighted 6 styles of my choice, each in 2 sizes, to my hotel in Santa Monica along with complementary accessories. This dress was the winner -classy, but sexy and edgy. It was extremely flattering (no need for Spanx) and showed just the right amount of skin (must use fashion tape). And it danced beautifully -the skirt twirled and the slit was modest but fun. I was not uncomfortable or nervous or self-conscious for a second (though I think that might be different with a larger chest). I received endless compliments from anyone from the mother of the bride to the best man to random people in the hotel. Huge win.

My boyfriend looks like a Ken doll and I'm constantly teased as his Barbie, so I decided to cave in and roll with it with this dress. It's a typical Herve, hugging and complementing your body in all the right ways, and the color is a true bright Barbie pink making it work for parties or special events, but definitely not just a night out or anything remotely casual. Ideal for a girls' night out, bachelorette or birthday party.

I fall just between a 2 and 4, but defer to a 4 when I'm trying a new designer. Unfortunately, I really did need a 2. The 4 equivalent was baggy around my waist and stomach, so sadly I wasn't able to wear it. That said, the color is gorgeous, much brighter than in the picture. Matched with the conservative length, this is a great dress for a career or family evening event where you want to push it a little bit, but not to the point where your Grandmother has a heart attack.

This is the perfect LBD. The material is unique and hugged my body very similarly to Herve, cinching and defining my waist. In comparison, the material is thicker and honestly a little more forgiving than HL which I didn't hate. The slit on the left leg gives the perfect hint of skin and the intricate back adds another fun detail. Be careful dancing though because this one rides up. My boyfriend was gawking from the minute he got to my apartment to the minute it hit the floor.

Wore this number to my birthday party at Jimmy. It was a brand new item at the time so the fit was exactly as you'd expect from an Herve. The neckline is a bit lower and the dress a bit shorter than you'd think from the picture, and the back plunged as well.... To sum that up: low front, low back, short dress, tight and bright red. It's not to be worn anywhere or for anything, but for the right event it will own.

My best assets are my stomach and butt, so this dress felt made for me. It's too bad that RTR seems to be missing the 4 because that's definitely my size -the 6 was too large and the 0-2 was tight. The dress is also crazy long. I'm 5'5" and wore 4" heels and it still dragged on the floor which made dancing a nightmare (if I wasn't tripping over it, someone else was standing on it). Still, it's hot. Really hot.

Since this dress was unavailable in S or M, I ordered an XS and hoped for the best... and despite my wearing a 2 in dresses, it is a tad too small. If I hold my breath the body zips up fine, but the neckline comes dangerously close to nip-slip territory. It's disappointing because this dress would be phenomenal if it were just one size larger. Also to note: the color is a little darker and duller than portrayed. More of a berry than a bright pink.

I was so disappointed by this dress. The straps are way too long, the cups far too large and the zipper stuck out on the hip and created a really unflattering bump that made my hips look huge. Total bummer.

Pretty + disappointing = pretty disappointing. This is a beautiful dress, but it's too long. And if the occasion requires a long dress, it probably isn't cutout/backless-appropriate.

This dress is gorgeous; the model doesn't do it justice. I wore it to a benefit on recommendation from a RTR stylist and was complimented right and left. Though most other women were wearing short dresses, I felt completely comfortable between the tightness of the material and the high slits. And it looks very Pippa Middleton from behind which never hurts.

Completely in love with this piece. I'm a 2, sometimes 4, but the 4 fit me perfectly. You can't see from the picture but there's really interesting draping over the right arm. Just easy, classy and beautiful. I wore this to a comedy show featuring a comedian I had a huge crush on and he approached me and took me out to dinner after.

Love at first sight. The bright red color of this dress is stunning (especially for blondes). At 5'4", 125 lb. I ordered a 6 and though it was a bit large and hid my curves, the color and sweetheart shape made up for it. Tons of compliments.

I've rented this dress twice -once for my 25th birthday, once for Halloween parties (dressed as Mary from Something About Mary). Simply put, it is stunning.
