If only the waist was as flattering as the hemline
I needed a belt and bc of my fuller bust, the top fit strangely. I wish I'd sized down. Ultimately, I think if you have a more athletic build and a small bust, this would look really good on you. Otherwise, you're going to need a belt to make it work. That hemline is EVERYTHING tho.

Good for apple body types
If you're a true apple body type, I think this dress would be flattering. The waist is tapered from your true waist down to your hips, so it worked for me (I'm heavier up top). I didn't wind up needing a belt like some other reviewers have noted. I wasn't crazy about the arm length and the cut of the top. It was longer than I expected so I felt a little matronly in it. It would probably work for a casual event that requires conservative attire.

Flattering, but you can go a size smaller.
I went with the largest size bc i wanted to wear this for Thanksgiving and I didn't know if it would be tight or restrictive. Turns out the waist is elastic and the fit is very loose and casual- you may want size down. It was super flattering in photos and got a lot of compliments. I styled it with black d'orsay flats, a gold clutch and statement earrings. It's a versatile dress- would be easy to dress up or down.

Too Tight
This dress ran way too small. I wore it anyway and wound up keeping my jacket on because I felt like a sausage casing. Related: you'll need spanx, but the slit makes the options limited. Oh, and that slit is super tricky when you're sitting. We had cocktails with my in-laws in low furniture before the event and I had trouble enjoying myself because I was sure I flashed them like 5 times. UGH.

Comfort meets Elegance
Perfect! I wore this for our annual Christmakkah party and I loved every second of it. I'd put on a little holiday weight and this dress hid it beautifully. I got so many compliments and everyone wanted to know where I bought it. I'd rent it again in a heart beat. Roomy in the bust, belt cinches the waist. You'll love it.

Prepare to be showered with compliments
As others have noted, this dress is beyond flattering. My friends all insisted I try to buy it, but we agreed that it's such a stand-out piece that everyone would remember it and it wouldn't get a ton of wear. The colors are beautiful and vibrant and the boning in the bodice helps keep the boobs up high and the waist nice and taut. I'm 5'8" and the dress fell right above my knee line. I wanted it a little shorter, so I used double sided tape to shorten it a tad. I'm a 36 DDD/E and I didn't have to wear a bra, but I will admit I was relieved for the fold-over on the top, it disguised a pinch of side boob. I wore black heels and long black tassel earrings. Everyone kept using the word "elegant" to describe the look. I'd rent this again in a heartbeat, but again, everyone will remember it :)

Sexy. Chic. Timeless.
I could have worn the 8, but I didn't want to wear spanx. It's a very comfortable dress and very flattering. My husband swooned over the slit and the low cut top. It's sexy without showing too much. I wore it to my sister-in-law's 40th birthday party at a conservative country club and it was perfect. You can dress it up or down. I wore it with black d'orsay heels, pearls and red lipstick for a classic look. The top showed just enough cleavage without being too much, and the slit didn't make me worry about exposing too much - and I'm pretty modest. I'd say go for it.

UK Sizing BEWARE
The website indicated that there are American and UK sizing. Allegedly I got the American size. Nope. Turns out my size 10 was actually a size 6. I enlisted the help of a friend trying to zip this dress and it was hysterical. I was literally sweating. I finally came to terms with the fact that even if I was able to zip it, I'd be walking around like a hippo in a scuba suit all night. Thank god I ordered a backup. Also, I complained to RTR that there is no American sizing and they should change the online sizing options to reflect this. I don't want anyone to suffer the same fate I did. They were super nice about it. I swear to god they're better at customer service than I am at breathing.
