I normally wear a size 6 or an 8 in anything that runs small. I ordered this dress in a 6 and an 8 and the 8 BARELY fits. I am going to starve myself before the event that I am going to in order to see if I can wear it (hopefully I'll lose a few pounds by then). If ordering the dress, order your upper size (1 size up) and 2 sizes up. Don't order your actual size. The dress itself is formfitting at the waist and slightly flares out below that but the bottom portion is not poofy at all. The waist is tighter than it looks; Spanx are probably needed if you have anything other than a completely flat stomach. The fit of the dress is nice though; it has a definite shape to it and is very classy as well as flattering (although it would be more flattering if it was larger). I'm 5'0 and the dress was a couple of inches above my knees, so it is fairly short. Usually the dresses I wear are much longer on me. This is a good dress to wear to a wedding and even more so if you pair it with a teal or blue necklace. I don't know that I will rent this dress again but I think it has a nice shape and is not a terrible choice.

The dress didn't wow me at all. The top portion of it looked sort of worn and was sort of a "dirty off white" color. The dress runs small and it is short (I am 5'1 and I thought it was a bit short). I could maybe see someone who is really thin with a model-ish body pulling this off well but I just wasn't a huge fan of the dress overall.
