The material is heavy and non giving, no stretch. If you have wide hips than the gathering at the waist will only accentuate it.

This dress is really pretty in person, but I took a star off because it is very narrow in the hips and is not forgiving with the fabric. When I tried to sit down, it was super tight and rode up so I would not be able to wear it to church or work.
