Perfect in every way.
Even though this dress has been in rotation for a few years, both sizes came in beautiful condition. I went with the 6 although the sleeves on the 8 were weirdly tight at the biceps to the point of being uncomfortable so I'd agree with some of the reviews about the sleeves. I think it's just a fluke that some run small. The 6 was perfect and fit like a glove. The lace and shorter length give it some sex appeal but it's still a classy conservative dress. Was perfect for my daughter's Confirmation even though it ran above the knee almost mid thigh. (I'm 5'7) Comfortable and very forgiving. Received a ton of compliments including one from the male owner of the restaurant where we had our celebration party. Told me "that dress looks GREAT on you" loud and proud right in front of his wife lol. Someone else shot me a text in the church and told me I looked stunning. I'd say this was a home run. It's one of those rentals you'd love to own.

"Stunning" was the word I heard all night!
First the good... I can't even recall ever getting as many compliments as I did in this dress. Even the bartender at the wedding I attended told me I looked stunning and that he loved my dress. So, I'd have to say this dress is a winner. As for the bad... I'm close to 5'8 and the 6R was DRAGGING on the ground so unless you are at least 6' you will not need to order the extra length. Also, I don't think the picture with the model is an accurate description because the cleavage is definitely more revealing. And now for the ugly... as with all RTR dresses I am sent, there was a problem with the zipper. The material was noticeably worn in some areas and actually separating at the seems in one place. But, overall, it was a great rental. The colors are really pretty and the material is excellent quality. It was unexpectedly warm (78 degrees) and I was fine even though it's a heavier fabric. I would have been able to wear a u-plunge bra - but because it created entirely too much cleavage, I went without one all together and it worked out ok. If you're contemplating this one, just go for it.

Beautiful dress, color is gorgeous but slightly high waisted for my height.
Undeniably, this is a gorgeous dress. The color is a peachy rose and looks great on summer sun kissed skin. I only gave it 3 stars, though, because this dress is a lot of work and it is not a safe, everything will be ok no matter what kind of style. Tying it just right is a pain and so is getting into it and lining everything up just right. Also, for me, the waistline where the belt ties was too high. A belted waist should provide for some definition and as you can see in one of the pictures, the sash was up around my rib cage. Maybe that's the way it should be but I felt boxy and that it needed to come down just a bit. You can wear a nu bra if you find the right one with just 2 adhesive cups. Otherwise you can't wear anything with this dress. It's forgiving in the hips and tummy area but, girls, don't have any kind of back fat because it will show for sure lol. Gorgeous dress, I just wasn't feeling it.

Felt Amazing In This! Compliments All Night!
I rented this once before for NYE but in a medium and it was too big and made me look super boxy. This time I rented it to go dancing in my bday and sized down (and got a backup size) and while I didn't notice a big difference between the XS and S, there's a big difference between S and M. First, the pros... I found this dress to be very forgiving. I don't have the flattest stomach and this dress camouflaged most of it. I was also able to wear a plunge bra with no problem (maybe bc I'm tall) and the neckline allows for great cleavage without being over the top. (Not col for a wedding tho.) The shimmer is awesome and in my opinion, it's an inky midnight blue color vs purple. Kind of like the OPI nail polish color Russian Navy. The dress does run slightly longer as you see on the model which is actually great if you have some junk in the trunk... it will make the skirt fall evenly all around if you do instead of the back being higher than the front. Lastly, I felt AH-MAZING in this dress. Babe LOVED it and I received endless compliments from both men and women. The ONLY CON... The shoulder straps fell down a lot. They also extended past my shoulders like I had on football shoulder pads. Long hair kind of took care of that. Fun, sexy dress for dinner and dancing in NYC.

Beautiful but worn.
Rented for NYE but the eyelash lace on the dress I received was so ratty I didn't wear it because it just looked bad. The eyelash was actually missing in places. Otherwise, the dress was beautiful and other than the jacked up lace, it was well made... although, in my opinion, the lace makes the dress. That said, jacked up lace, not worth wearing the dress. It did run a little tight in the rib cage so I'd suggest sizing up. I rented a S and an M and the lace on both dresses was in pretty bad condition. To make matters worse, my back up dress was too big. Huge sigh. Good luck with this.

I really wanted to wear this dress but it only zips midway down the back of the dress leaving 0 room to pull up over my hips or pull down past my shoulders. Otherwise it was a pretty dress. Disappointed.

So fun for NYE! Poofy, but fun.
I had so much fun in this dress! There were a few issues but otherwise, once you're moving around, it's magic. This dress is so poofy it made me self conscious. After a while, I didn't care. It's not as structured as it appears on the model and that will all depend on how much wear and tear the dress you receive has had. My 6 was bad. The tulle was ripped and burned and a mashed mess which isn't a big deal unless you're super tall like me because everything is so mashed up, the opaque portion off the dress barely covers your rear end which you can see in pic #3. The 4 was in better condition but I felt more comfortable in the 6 because for some reason, this dress comes SO high waisted as you can see in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. Not sure who Allison Parris had in mind when she made this one but the waistline was closer to my boobs than my belly button. I didn't care. The front poufed so much I bet I looked pregnant. I didn't care. Not sure what I looked like but I felt like a princess. Wore a sparkly NYE tiara and I was good to go. BEWARE - you WILL be pulling this down ALL night. (I didn't care.) Also, u will need a demi cup if you want to wear a bra.

Major attention in this one ya'll! Hated giving it back.
Absolutely loved this rental. The material is more of a charcoal shimmer leather with tiny white dots vs a grey shimmer as it appears in the picture so I was a little surprised to see that it was a lot darker than expected - but it was still nice and caught the light at different times throughout the night. Also be prepared for the dress to come out of the box weighing like 10 pounds lol - it's heavy - but it's not a bad thing because it falls nicely. Once it's on you don't notice the weight. I'm on the east coast and it's great for this time of year. Don't be afraid to give this a try if you have less than washboard abs! Because of the weight and thickness of the fabric, the Supernova dress is pretty forgiving. It is cut a little lower than most v neck dresses but you can still wear a regular bra with no problem. I got a ridiculous amount of compliments and glances in this one - the dress is stunning in appearance and is also extremely flattering. It's a fun dress, go for it.

Pretty Lace, Fits Nicely
I went with my first choice so I didn't wear this. It's pretty and very fitted - although it seemed slightly poofy in the front close to the crotch. (Having hips might take care of that - I have none.) You can definitely get away with wearing a regular black bra. (I had on a blue one when I tried it on so you can get an idea from the picture.) You can also probably get away with not needing Spanx if you have some minor tummy issues, in which case you may want to size up for your backup.

Really pretty dress, somewhat boxy though. Just "ok" for me.
The lace on this dress is gorgeous although I received it brand new so it was in pristine condition. (Love being the first to wear a rental lol). There is an ivory slip underlay that is attached at the bust so it stays in place and the straps on the slip are adjustable. There is also a little bit of crinoline under the skirt. There are buttons on the sleeves which is a nice detail. Overall, though, I found the silhouette of this dress to be super boxy on me. I have no hips, though. I sized up so maybe I would have been better off in a smaller size. It's classy and fun but does run short if your all leg like me. Sitting offers lots of leg view if your on a date but could keep you tugging down if you're at a wedding or family event. Very safe dress.

Fun and flirty!
Loved everything about this dress. Other reviewers commented that the dress was heavy but I didn't find it to be a bad heavy - just a better fabric heavy vs. something flimsy. The thing I loved the most about this dress was the way it fell over all. The skirt was flirty and I felt the dress camouflaged traces of belly well so don't be afraid of this dress if you have some pouchiness going on. Maybe size up for your back up. Skin tight anything accentuates the good and the bad. At the end of the day, I felt very confident in this dress. For the cons, I can't say I can name something I liked the least but I did notice that the hem and seams are inverted/exposed meaning the stitching you would normally see INSIDE the seams were on the outside. And the hem was an exposed stitch as well. It didn't look bad by any means, it was just different. It's a safe rental but certainly not a boring one. Spin around and you'll agree.

Sweet Dress, Hard to Size (Giving up on RTR)
This dress does in fact run large. I'm usually a 6 but that was huge and so was the 4. I was swimming in the 4 actually. I called Customer Service and asked for a 2 which they were happy to send (Customer Service is AWESOME) but the 2 was wayyyy too tight and then wayyy too short which I couldn't understand. it was almost like it was a Petite. I can never find a happy medium with RTR but I digress. It's a cute dress, nicely made for the most part although the underslip is a little flimsy and has wicked static cling. If you can find your size in this one, it's really a sweet little dress. You can probably get away with a black bra underneath - the sheer part isn't THAT sheer but an strapless or clear strapped bra would be better.

Based on other reviews, I rented a 6 with a 4 as a back up because supposedly this dress ran large. It's s shift and I expected it to fit like an A-line shift but it didn't. It was skin tight in the hips and rear which made the waist box and puff out with no definition. Even with a belt, it looked bad. Maybe this style will work for someone with a really thin bottom portion.

Loved, loved, loved this dress!!! Even though it was a simple dress, its my favorite rental so far.
I rented this for a simple dinner on my birthday and couldn't be more satisfied. Upon taking it out of the box, I wasn't so sure I was going to like it because the bottom of the dress has some sort of mesh hemming to make the skirt fan out in true skater dress fashion and whomever ironed it, pressed the imprint of the hemming into the dress. Luckily, it didn't show when I put the dress on and it just hung and flowed beautifully. I normally wear a 6 but the 4 fit like a glove. I have no hips so maybe that's a contributing factor. Although a seemingly simple style, it's cute and girly and at 5'8, the dress was a flirty yet classy mid-thigh length on me. Other reviews stated the sleeves were too long but I found them to be shorter than I'd like. One cute detail, though, were the zippers at the wrists. Another was the asymmetrical neckline which will be overpowered with any kind of bib or statement necklace so choose accessories wisely. (I didn't wear the jewelry in the picture.) The fabric is a nice weight with a some stretch to it. I don't have the flattest stomach on the planet but you couldn't notice a bit of bulge so if your abs aren't washboard, this is a great choice. The dress comes with inside snaps that some reviewers used to secure bra straps. I think they are there to hold down the hanger straps because they pop out if they aren't secured down. I wore a regular bra and the straps didn't show at all. My night was filled with dinner and dancing and this dress is perfect for both.

So Disappointed. Barely covered my cheeks.
Maybe the dress sent to me was washed in a machine and it shrunk but at 5'7 and normally a 4 or 6, this dress in a size large hardly covered my butt and it was uncomfortably skin tight. While I do have what Beyonce calls a "fatty", the model is taller than I am and the drop/flared waist was no where near my hips as it appears on her - the flare started at my waist above my hips. Not sure if my "fatty" had anything to do with that but I doubt it. If I raised my hand above my head or tried to dance, my whole world would be showing. I could get away with wearing this as a tunic (and just might have to since I didn't get a backup) but I wanted a fun, flirty DRESS not a tunic. The pros - it's a pretty, light sweater material, and the pattern is very interesting. If you're about 5'4 or shorter and slender, go for it.

Very forgiving, but not all that flattering.
RTR sent this to me as a sub bc the dress I ordered wasn't returned by the previous renter. (Girls, return your dresses on time so you don't screw up the next chick's rental and ruin her Saturday night!) That aside, the color is a gorgeous shade of steel blue grey. However, the fabric is a thick brocade that doesn't lie flat. Unless you are tiny and looking to create the illusion of fuller hips, this skirt will literally fit like a sack. Sadly, I didn't find it flattering at all. I do appreciate RTR sending a substitute... Just wish it had been a nicer alternative.

Sadly, the dress I wanted wasn't returned by the person ahead of me so RTR sent two substitutes. This was one of them. I was excited that it came brand new with the tag still attached but I couldn't wear it. Although the fabric was nice quality, it seemed to run narrow in the hips and it doesn't give at all. If you have curves or a JLo, you should definitely size up at least one size and make your back up a size over that. It was also a little tight across the clavicle. It's pretty, though and, at 5'8, the peplum hit me just at the hip instead of at the waist like other peplum styles which was definitely the nicer things about this dress.

Gorgeous!
The color is beautiful! The pattern at the bottom and piping is an eggplanty, purple-ly brown. You may be able to get away with black shoes but luckily I had fuschia strappies that paired well. The material is lightweight shantung but not flimsy like the Tumeric Spice sheath. It's forgiving if you size up. I went with the medium and all I can say is... no spanx needed! And not too short on my 5'7 frame. I wore it to an afternoon brunch on the water. Someone wore it to a wedding but I'd actually wear this to the office. I'm in NY so maybe it depends on your geographic location. Overall, it's a very pretty sheath. Would love to keep it because I'd definitely wear it again! *Note - if you you are hippy, this dress may be tight on you.
