The cut and fabric of this dress could be the most flattering for any woman. The fabric is thick and supportive, which is always appreciated when the cut runs small and is form-fitting. I would 100% size up as your back up. I used double sided tape to also make me feel more comfortable about the top when dancing since it comes in by your bust.

I had my eye on this for my 31st birthday and am so happy I rented it. Helmut Lang epitomizes clean design but the back is just to die for. I 100% agree with the other ladies who recommend sizing up. I rented the 2 and the 4 and wore the 4. However, I probably should have rented the 4 and the 6. The main reason is that there is no real give to the fabric and the bottom seam of the dress is pretty fitted. That being said, the dress is gorgeous -- my pic doesn't do the embroidery justice. It's just a sleek little number, perfect for Friday night dinner with friends.

Where do I even begin with this dress!? I rented it for a good friend's wedding in Dallas and it was just stunning. It was a late September wedding, so this was the perfect dress to transition to fall, but keep me cool enough in the hot Dallas weather. The color is so rich and the dress is just subtly sexy bc of all the lace. I decided to wear the sash and tie it in the back to accentuate my waist, but I could see someone wear this as a true shift without the sash if you are more straight up and down. LOVED IT.

However, while it is tight, the material is thick which is important for two reasons: (1) It's a real indication of quality and you understand what makes it different than an H&M/Zara/Forever21 dress and (2) it is flattering and holds you in place The one thing I will caution (and the reason why I wore the bigger size) was that it did ride up a bit when walking.
