The elastic back is helpful as it gives you additional room in case the dress is a little small. I normally wear a 6 but had to exchange for an 8. The size up wasn't that much bigger. Possibly the garment shrunk after so many cleanings. I recommend size up. If it's too big in the waist you could also add a skinny belt.

The dress material is like a lighter version of neoprene. It holds everything in really well but doesn't add pounds to you. No shapewear is needed. It was comfortable to dance in. This dress is definitely a winner like reported by other reviewers.

I am normally a true size 6 but I couldn't get this to zip pass the bust line. Otherwise it fits elsewhere. It's a lovely dress but does run small. A size 8 would have fit perfectly.

At first the dress was snug but after wearing it an hour it seemed to have stretched and became more comfortable. I received many compliments on the dress. One thing though, this dress is more suited for cooler weather so I'd wear it to a fall or winter event instead of spring and summer (which I did). Even though the sleeves are mesh, the high neck and fabric can get too warm. Overall, the dress was stunning.
