Event was a gala/reception for my new work, cocktail attire
Sorry the picture stinks. This dress fit true to size. I got the 4 and the 6. Both fit, the only difference was that the 4 was tight around the bust/torso. I ended up wearing the 6. Size up if you have a bigger bust, the flare skirt is flattering and forgiving for most sizes. This dress served its purpose, I was looking for a dress to make a good first impression, but was cocktail appropriate and more conservative. Beautiful color and the detail around the waist is really cute.

The event was a black tie optional event in Washington, DC on 1/2/2015.
Sorry I don't have a better picture! The event I went to was a black tie optional ball in Washington, DC. The attire of people in attendance ran the gamut, so I did not feel either over- or under-dressed. The dress fit true to size. I got a 6 and an 8 and didn't even try on the 8, the 6 was perfect. It was a thicker fabric which was nice in chilly weather. It also had a nice amount of stretch and wasn't constricting. The flare skirt is very flattering. I'm on the shorter side and the skirt hit just above the knee, so I found it appropriate and classy. I wore it with a closed toe high heel black sandal/pump. For jewelry I wore a large gold cuff and rented the Slate and Willow Solar Flare Earrings. the cutout in the neck was a nice touch and I didn't feel a necklace was necessary. I added a dark lip color to add a pop of color and I was pleased with the total look. I don't know if I'd wear this for a black tie optional event again - I'd probably opt for a longer dress. This would be perfect for a winter wedding or holiday party. It's classy, flirty and cute.
