Beautiful fabric; awkward fit.
I wish this had worked because the fabric was really thick, lustrous and classy, but the cut was just all wrong for me. I tried a size 0 (I'm 5'4.5" and around 113 pounds, 34c, and usually wear a 0 or 2), and it was too tight in the bust to zip. The hips fit, but the side seams did not lie flat, visually adding width where I want it the least.

Nips the waist; snug in the chest
The material of this dress is much heavier and dressier than I expected it to be--it was too formal (and warm) to wear out shopping on a hot summer day, but at the same time, the floral pattern does not say "evening" or "work" to me. Still, the cut is very flattering and the quality is beautiful, and I liked the lace and button details. Perhaps a good date dress?

Gorgeous cut and fit
I'm not sure how I feel about black and red leopard print, but the cut and quality of this dress are so fabulous, I'd wear it in just about any pattern. The material is midweight and drapey, and with heels the dress can go from work to a cocktail party with ease. I'll definitely rent it again.

Dressier than it appears
The embroidery on this dress is really pretty, and it was very comfortable and easy to wear to a theater performance while on a vacation in Mexico City. I'd expected it to be cotton (my fault for not reading the fabric description); instead, it's a medium-weight synthetic material. The quality is great, but the dress is kind of an odd combination of a very casual style and a somewhat dressy fabric.

Cute! and short!
I wore this dress with flat sandals during a vacation to Mexico city. I loved the embroidery and the cotton was lined so it wasn't sheer at all. I'm surprised that some reviewers found it oversized and long; I found it to be a little too short and snug under my arms (I'd size up to the s next time). Still, because there's no waist, I could get away with it being a little small.

Lightweight with nice detail
Look closely at the neckline of this dress and you'll see that the puckering is created by drawstrings that fall to either side of the dress with silver beads on the bottom. No need for additional jewelry! Despite being long and covering the decollete, this dress is very sexy thanks to the way it reveals your shoulders and collarbones. It's quite sheer, so I recommend a nude half slip, and you'll want to wear a t-back or halter bra.

Flowy, feminine and forgiving
This was my second rental of this dress, which is absolutely beautiful and almost weightless. The full skirt will make you want to spin! The waist hit high and overall the style is quite conservative, but high heels (like those in the photo) give it a little oomph. My only disappointment was that the dress smelled a bit under the arms.

Flattering cut, beautiful quality
I wore this dress to a fundraising dinner and loved it. The quality is visible, and the cut shows off your collarbones (and what woman doesn't like her collarbones?). The 0 was a perfect fit. I was unable to wear a bra, but the fabric was thick enough that I could get away with it. Will rent again.

Flattering, versatile, comfortable. A winner!
I admired this exact dress at Neiman Marcus recently, so was excited to see that it was already at RTR. I wore it to work as well as to a cocktail party and fashion show. The fit was incredibly flattering--the fabric is nice and thick, with a bit of give, so very forgiving--and it stayed looking fresh even after two wears. (Maybe TMI, but the arm holes are quite big, so there's none of the dreaded perspiration absorption that can make a dress unwearable more than once before being cleaned.) I'd rent this again in a heartbeat.

Frilly, feminine and flattering
I tend to be a minimalist but I can't help falling for Saloni dresses. Despite the ruffles and floral material, this dress felt sophisticated, and it fit like a dream (I often wear a 0, but this was just right in the 2, especially since the waistband isn't forgiving at all). A black leather biker jacket and booties dressed it down for work, and, with high-heeled sandals, it was a fun substitute for a LBD at a cocktail party.

Chic and versatile.
Loved this and got many compliments. The very small ribbing in the knit runs diagonally, which gives it a nice drape, and the knit is sophisticated and lightweight, making the cape a nice top layer for spring weather. Note the side slits only reach partway up your arm, so your arm movement from the shoulder is somewhat limited; I carried a clutch instead of a shoulder bag.

Beautiful silk, loose fit
UPDATE: I rented the 36 after trying the 38 and the fit was much better (though still loose) and hit my lower calf. I pinned the sash underneath so it wouldn't drag, but otherwise loved the dress so much, I wore it to several events. I recommend ordering down at least one size. ______________________ I keep wanting to wear Marni, as I love its beautiful fabrics and avant-garde silhouettes, but I've had a hard time finding the right style and fit. The last dress I tried was a size 36 and miniscule, so I ordered this in a 38 and was absolutely swimming in it. I liked the asymmetrical ruching, and the light silk fabric was beautiful, but I found the long piece in the front to be a little too long for my 5'4" frame (had the dress fit, I probably would've tucked the hanging piece under).

Great fabric, interesting design, but runs small
I'm usually a 0-2 in dresses and this dress was so small I could barely get it over my head, let alone zip it up. Too bad, as the material was nice and thick, the design was distinctive and I loved the pleats in the skirt (though the off-center pattern on the skirt would have probably driven me a little crazy). The shiny silver hardware at the waist is bolder than it appears in the photo.

Head-turner!
I'm usually a 0-2 in dresses, and the 2 fit like a glove (I needed help zipping it up). The material is scuba-like and subtly sparkly, with just enough stretch to make it comfortable to sit in through a 2-hour play. Warning: There is a very, very high slit in the back. I felt fantastic in it and will definitely rent it again.

Beautiful material, flattering cut
I loved this dress! The print, jewel-like colors and feel of the silk are gorgeous. The slightly trumpet-shaped skirt and gathered top slim the hips and make your waist look tiny. The back is mostly open, which is very sexy but a little challenging--you'll need to wear a backless bra or go braless (I chose the latter, but I don't think anyone could possibly tell thanks to the print and the gathers). Not only will I rent this dress again, but also I will try renting a few other styles from the brand based on how much I liked this one.

Sexy, on-trend
I wore this on a date with my husband to a hot new restaurant/club and felt great! The skirt is heavyweight, slightly stretchy material that was flattering and forgiving, and the gold and black woven overlay on top had just enough of a metallic glint to look festive but not flashy. The one-shoulder style shows off your shoulders and clavicle without having to deal with hiking up a strapless dress or being restricted by an off-the-shoulder sleeve. I'll rent this one again.

Classic but not boring
I wore this dress to a daytime gallery opening and felt that it fit the setting perfectly. The fabric is a fairly heavyweight crepe, and there's a nice laced detail on the bodice that gave an otherwise simple (and fairly staid) cut some flair. The quality of the fabric and construction is fantastic. I'll rent it again when I'm looking for a somewhat conservative but fashionable daytime dress.

Great quality but odd cut
This was my first Marni rental and I chose the wrong size--I wear a 0 or 2 dress normally and the 36 was way too small for me. It was especially tight through my shoulders, which is not usually an issue, and it was very short. I returned the dress unworn, and although the fabric was a beautiful crepe, I didn't like the dress enough to re-rent it in a larger size.

Stylish and a little retro
I wore this dress for fashion-related meetings and felt stylish and comfortable. The quality was fantastic, as one would expect from this brand. The silhouette is boxy--sexy it isn't--but the white-backed black "flaps" that form the skirt gave the dress great movement and visual interest. I'll rent it again, though next time in a 0 as it was roomy across my shoulders and the sleeves were a bit long.

Feminine and flattering
I'm a size 0/2 and this dress fit a little loose, but was still flattering and comfortable for a full day and evening of events. One odd detail to note is that the dress has shoulder pads! I don't think they did the dress or my frame any favors, but they didn't veer into 80s territory, and were easily hidden under a biker jacket.

A little bit sexy and unexpected, without being over-the-top.
I wore this dress to dinner followed by a theater opening, and I paired it with strappy black leather heels. There is an exposed silver zipper down the back and the material was much thinner than I expected, which made the dress more casual and clingy (not tight), but it felt comfortable and looked on-trend.

Love the material and pattern, so-so on the fit
I'm 5.4" and 112 pounds, with a 34D chest. While the fabric and construction were gorgeous, on my small frame, the fit of this blouse was oversized to the point of being a little matronly, even in an xs. However, peeking out from a slim-cut blazer and paired with skinny black pants, it looked really sharp.

Flattering day-to-night dress
I am 5.4 1/2, about 112 lbs, 34D, approx 34-26-35 and in my early 40s. I ordered the 0 and it fit well overall, but the elastic waistline hit a little higher than my natural waist (and I'm not particularly long-waisted). The skirt hit mid-thigh and the top was low-cut; probably too low for anything but a very casual office place. The hook-and-eye closure on the bodice left gaps and felt a little precarious, however, so I wore my own black, v-neck full slip underneath. I also wore a wide black belt to disguise the high waist. With heels and delicate gold jewelry, the dress felt perfect for a dinner with a bunch of fashionable friends on the patio of a scene-y restaurant. Note: the material feels like layers of light cotton and is shot with subtle stripes of gold thread.
