The waistline of the medium fell too low on my frame to fit well (I'm 5'2'') and a smaller size wouldn't have worked well because the it would be too tight through the hips. There isn't much stretch to this material, but I'd say it fits true to size and if you have an athletic body-type, it would be best worn by someone a few inches taller than me. It arrived a day late so I didn't have time to order something different before my event, but typically the customer service at RTR is worth the effort to rent!

I didn't end up wearing this dress as the straps were too long - making the dress not fit quite right. That said, for a taller person, the material is great and the cut is lovely. The flare at the bottom gives it a fun touch while still being classic. Wish the straps were adjustable as I would have loved to wear this!

I was so busy, I forgot to actually take any clear pictures in it! (So go the holidays) I typically wear a 4 or 6 in dresses, depending on brand, and ordered both the S and the M as a backup. The small fit perfectly, and had a nice shape. Sometimes, given that I'm relatively short, dresses without structure look bulky on me (i.e., the dreaded "potato sack" look). This, however, was just fitted enough to be flattering and the color garnered lots of compliments. If you have very broad shoulders, you might need to size up to give yourself some room to move. Overall, I'd rent again!
