Completely gorgeous and flattering dress--got tons of compliments!
I have so many wonderful things to say about this dress. First off, the color is beautiful--better than in these photos. It's a gorgeous cobalt / light royal blue. Very bright and tasteful at the same time. Second, it is bootylicious and very flattering overall. Third, the length was perfect. Fourth, the straps adjust if you need it, which might be good for different bust sizes. Oh and you CAN wear a bra (either strapless or thin straps that you pin to the dress). I got so many compliments. My 5 yr old daughter chose this dress for me and I was very skeptical because I'm pear shaped and nothing tight in the hips ever works...like it doesn't fit over me and the top is still loose, but I figured my back up dress could save me if needed, and the reviews said the hips were big. I tried on the 4L and it was a bit tight in the hips and the top was way too big. I thought, "I knew I shouldn't have gotten this dress!" then I thought "ok I'll just try to the 2L." Well the material is quite stretchy and it hugged my hip/butt/thigh zone VERY nicely while working well up top. My butt looked so awesome--these photos don't do it justice because they weren't from just the right angle but this dress was really amazing. It was not too tight--I was very comfortable all evening (for about 7 hours!), with intense dancing. It's very important to point out that like most RTR dresses, the material is quite thick which makes it very flattering--all lumps & bumps are smoothed out. Also, the front ruffle passes right over where you might have a tummy pouch if you do have one. So I can't stress enough that if you're pear shaped and this type of dress doesn't usually work for you, you should go for it!! And size down (or at least don't size up as you might be typically inclined to do). The hips are indeed big enough and you'll look smoking hot.

worked great even for a rehearsal dinner
I am pear shaped and ordered this as my back-up style. I wore it to the rehearsal dinner because it fit pretty well and wore the main style to the wedding. It was a little tight in the hips, but definitely the right size dress for them. It looked very nice and emphasized my rear in a very good way. It was quite large up top because I'm very small chested, but it fit basically fine with a stick on "bra." It should be obvious from the style that you can't wear any kind of real bra with this dress! The back really is quite open. One thing to note is that I don't believe this dress comes in "long" and the regular length was pretty short as you can see in the pictures. I am 5'7" (erring on the side of 5'6"). Even if I had had flats on, the dress would have been off the ground. Don't get this dress if you are my height or taller and care about it being the right length.
