4R fit me very well (I am a size 6/28 in pants, tend to wear a medium in tops because I like a loser fit). The only reason this got 4 instead of 5 stars is because you need fabric tape to keep the neck/bustline from revealing the bra. Once fabric tape was on, it was comfortable, flattering, and easy to wear

Wore this for a black tie wedding. The 4L fit like a glove and was the perfect length with 4.5 in heels (I'm 5'7"). Dress was a bit snug through my shoulders and chest- I have broad, athletic shoulders- but not tight enough to merit sizing up. A show stopper that made me feel glamorous. No spanx necessary as the fabric is thick and holds you in!
