I ordered this dress (and a second different dress) for a floral-themed gala fundraiser. While both fit perfectly, this one was the clear winner. The gorgeous fabric and design with floral details on the bodice and a full skirt (with pockets) made for a show-stopping dress that was also very comfortable to wear. (Helpful hint - while I could easily have gone without a bra, I chose to wear a strapless one to give me a little more 'shape' up top.) I added a little color by wearing red heels and carrying a red and black evening bag. The event was a fundraiser which started with a cocktail hour and silent auction and even in the crowded room, people were seeking me out to tell me how much they loved my dress. I don't know when I've received that many compliments (all from complete strangers) in one night on what I was wearing. If I could purchase this dress, I would but as a minimum, I will likely rent it again for another event.

I have plenty of formal dresses and gowns but wanted something a little different for the wedding of a friend and I just couldn't find the look I was after while shopping. On the advice of a friend, I thought I would try Rent the Runway. I found several dresses I liked but wanted to go with a designer that I knew so I'd be sure of the sizing. I've worn Monique Lhuillier so I was fairly certain the size I ordered would work (so much so that I didn't order a back-up size). Happily, not only was the fit perfect but I loved the way it looked as well. I am 5'7" so I ordered the 2L and it was a little long but I just wore higher shoes and it worked out fine. I received many compliments that evening from people I had never met and I felt good all night in it. A big bonus is that the high-low style does allow for dancing without worrying about tripping on your gown! I did add a sparkly belt at the waist to break up the black but that was all it needed. The ease of "shopping" from my computer as well as the selection, delivery and return process made this a very positive experience and I am sure I will be using RTR again in the future.
