Guys I LOVED wearing this dress! I will say it took a while for me to fall in love with it once I tried it on, (I was immediately obsessed when I saw it on the site...and then IRL, so that initial touch of disappointment was a bummer...I've adored Marni from afar for yearsss). Turns out I just had to figure out how to style it. Tried it first with a pinky nude bodysuit, but I didn't like all that pale showing through the ruby panels. It made the dress seem like the color scheme was ruby, rust, and white. (Not for me.) Didn't love it, even though I was expecting to play up the sheer factor from the get go. Tried it with a rust body...then the panels at my legs and arms and butt where glaring white. Nope. Wearing a long sleeved black body, thick black tights, and knee-high vintage Fryes from the 60s SEALED THE DEAL. Great day to night piece, went shopping, to brunch, and then late night cocktails and felt fab the whole day. Far more covered up than my normal going out look, I still felt sexy and super confident in this. Got complimented as well, which I'll always take! Will 100% rent again. I wish this was in my closet permanently!

I would have loved to try a 6 in this, though I think it might have been too tight. Did NOT like the fit at the bust, which is why this is a 'No' from me. Sure I'm itty bitty titty committee, but I have no problem with that...this just didn't hit right, even with those silicone pasty things slapped on. Perhaps a proportion issue. The fabric is luxurious with a beautiful hand and weight. Loved it around my rather up and down/straight body...I never look that curvy so it's a fun thing for me to see on myself! Didn't love how the seam on the inside of the "train" was visible, I found it glaring and unfinished considering the $$$ of this piece. The slip is also shorter than the dress, 2 things that I didn't notice much from the pics but that kept stopping my eye when I had it on. Pleased to have been able to try it, may give it a whirl again in another season.

Total throw on and go dress, very comfortable, slinky, good movement. The longer length of the sleeves made it feel just a touch more luxe. M was a bit roomy, though an S I think would have been contrary to the intention of the design (too tight and not as 'effortless'). The fabric is a BEAUTIFUL color, very rich and light catching. All in all, a fun dress for a girl's night out, but certainly not, in my mind, for a special occasion. I liked it on me, but it didn't feel any more special than a mini dress from F21...aside from the fact it's made in the USA.

As a quirky girl with a love of the bold and colorful, this was love at first sight for me. Didn't end up wearing as it didn't feel right for the event and season, but may consider it for summer. This dress is so particular in its pattern and just right in its drape, the fabric is textural and bends around curves in such an interesting way. But it is LONG. At 5,9" and in 3" heels, it still puddles on the floor. I love to dance, and I wasn't sure I'd feel super free to move as I will with the length and the cut (the lining is cut slimmer than the skirt). On my frame, I feel like the halter could have been tighter/pulled up a bit. Tried rolling the neck (think a Grecian twist) which simulated a better fit. Would have LOVED to try it with the belt to synch in the extra fabric at the waist (the fold of the seam creates additional width right where you want it to nip), and I think it would have added a touch more formality. Still a love from me!
