I probably needed the 10 in this dress, but I am a tad heavier than usual and went with the 12. It is a sturdy dress so I think you could size down and the dress would hold you in. My dress was pretty well loved before it got to me. I told RTR and they promised to take that one out of circulation.

I actually ordered this dress from Nordstrom for my 40th birthday, but when looking for fit reviews I found it on RTR and decided that I would return the one I purchased and rent instead since I wasn't sure if I would ever wear again. I loved this dress so much I'm thinking of reordering the Nordstrom one. It's a easy fit throughout (plenty of arm room) and some spanx tights kept everything smooth under.

The dresses were lost in delivery and for about 24 hours RTR told me that I would be responsible for replacing them, even though they had never arrived and the signature the delivery company had was not my name (or even close to my name). I had written off the entire experience, when about 2 hours before the party, the delivery guy showed up and tried to get me to sign another line, not associated with my name or address, to accept the dresses. I refused and just signed over the mysterious person who had originally signed my name. All and all it was a stressful experience, but the dresses were lovely (although quite worn, and the large had a hole) but I felt beautiful all night long.
