Not sure what happened but this was comically large. I double checked all of the tags sewn into the dress to ensure there hadn’t been a last minute swap, but nope, just a very large XS. I’m pretty consistently a size 2 because I have a broad rib cage, which helps give me consistency… but this one was beyond me. “Gaping” was how my husband put it after giggling for a solid few seconds. Thankfully this was my backup and the 1st choice was a success, otherwise, yikes! Did not wear.

This little guy is on the small side, and has a drawstring top, so as long as you can live with those things and plan accordingly you will be find and you will love it. Small but still fits a lot: phone, card-wallet, 2 pairs of sunglasses, lipstick, mints. Was easy to wear over my wrist on my arm (a little snug), or with one hand on the dance floor. Color was bright and fun - so many compliments.

I think I ultimately would have been between the 4 (what I received) and the 2 (which was unavailable). The dress was hard to zip but once it was zipped, it immediately drooped and I would likely have wound up constantly tugging the dress up to stay in place. Because I had to travel for the black tie wedding I was attending I can imagine this would have been very difficult to de-wrinkle. So if you do rent and need to travel, I'd recommend having it shipped to your destination instead of home.

Wore this to a black tie wedding and felt fantastic. The material has a good amount of give, but the dress is definitely meant to show off your curves. I wore a backless sticky bra and high-waisted Spanx and didn't have to worry about anything showing through the dress or at the back. I wore the 2L but could have worn the 4 except for the fact that I was accidentally shipped a 4R instead of a 4L so the length was much too short for me. Wore 3" heels and had a bit of clearance from the ground.

Having previously rented a size 8R of another Reformation dress that wound up being too big, I figured I would go down a size for this rental. However, the size 6R would not zip more than halfway up. Otherwise I loved the idea of this dress. For reference, I usually wear a size 2 or size 4 (if the dress runs small) in most other dresses on RTR. Disappointing as I love this brand but have yet to find the right size to rent.

Wore this for a holiday party and received compliments from friends, family, and complete strangers. The lace is beautiful, the fit was magical for me, and I felt incredible in it. I have a pretty straight frame, and I found there was almost zero give in the fabric so if you have curves this might not work well. The only issue I had is that length of the lining was oddly short and I had to adjust it often as it rode up. I still think about this dress, and would buy it in an instant!

In hindsight I wish I had gotten a spray tan as the color washed me out a bit. The color is more of a light mauve than a blush pink. Was a more busty style than I normally wear (I'm a 32D) but the adjustable straps gave me confidence and comfort despite that. The dress was comfortable, and while there is some stretch, the lining and lace don't have a ton of give. The lace is lightweight and if you looked closely it does show some slight wear and tear, but that wasn't a deal-breaker for me.

Rented this for a rehearsal dinner. Reformation sizing tends to run on the smaller size and I normally would wear a 4 or 6. But I waited too long and was desperate so had to make do with a size 8. Fit from the bust down was good, but bust and up was too big. Had to use a lot of double-sided tape to keep things decent since the neckline was a bit low. In spite of the slightly awkward sizing/fit in the shoulder/bust area I still got a ton of compliments and would rent again in the right size!

While I didn't wind up wearing this dress, I'd happily rent it again for another occasion. I was headed to a wedding in FL at the end of October, and have had my eye on this dress for a while. I wore another dress from RTR that had more color and fit the FL vibe a bit more than this one. Like other renters have said, the dress definitely does have more coloring than what shows in photographs. But the colors aren't vibrant, and sometimes you just have to embrace the colorful FL vibe. Fit-wise, the dress was a bit big on me in the size 4 that I rented which is my typical size. Not so big that I wouldn't have worn it if it was my only option, but just enough on the large side that I'd try a size 2 if I rent again. I was surprised by the length as I'm 5'8" and it still came to just above my ankles. For shorter ladies, this is a dress that deserves a good set of high heels as I'm not sure the cut and silhouette would be super flattering as a full-length dress on some women.

Pros: Beautiful colors, comfortable material, and definitely not your average dress! Got compliments from family members and strangers alike at the wedding I rented this for. The boning in this dress was not uncomfortable and helped to give the upper part of the dress nice lines and structure. Even though the lower half of the dress is fitted, the material has great give so I never felt worried about enjoying myself on the dancefloor. This might not be the case if you have good curves - I'm pretty un-curvy - so just something to think about. Cons: The adjustable straps do slide down, like some other renters have mentioned. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any safety pins to help hold them in place, so I wound up asking my husband and friends a few time throughout the night to help me adjust them. Not the end of the world though, and I didn't have any issues with spilling out. Also, I didn't realize quite how high the slit by the ruffle goes up the leg. Nothing scandalous, but just a bit more leg than I was expecting.

I rented this dress for a black-tie optional gala fundraiser - never the easiest kind of event to dress for, but this worked perfectly. It's hard to go wrong with a Monique Lhuillier dress. I find that the fit is more consistent with these designs than with other brands, and this dress was no exception. The embroidered material was beautiful and in good shape - I've rented other similarly embroidered dresses from RTR that have shown the wear and tear, but this wasn't the case with this dress. I enjoyed the over the shoulder ruffle - coming out of the winter season I'm always a little bit self-conscious of my arms, and the ruffle layer covered the area perfectly. I've tried other dresses with this same sort of design and have found the layers to limit arm movement, but I was able to fully enjoy myself on the dancefloor without any problems. There's no stretch in the fabric, but I wouldn't say it was overly rigid. It moved well, fit well, looked great!

I was supposed to wear this dress for the Friday night rehearsal/welcome festivities at a wedding, but due to some fit and shipping issues with RTR I was left without a dress for the actual wedding and had to wear this one. In hindsight, I am so glad that this was the dress I got to wear for the wedding itself as the weather was not friendly for fitted dresses/heavy fabrics. The print and texture of this dress helps keep it from being too casual. The fit is loose and flowy, so no shapewear is needed and you can indulge in all the yummy food you want all night long and not have to suck anything in. The back does tend to slide down a bit so rather than wearing a strapless bra I went with a sticky NuBra. Only a 2 was available for my rental dates and it fit well but I probably could have gone down to a 0 to prevent the back slippage I mentioned earlier. Overall, the dress was a success. It's a low maintenance dress so you won't have to do any adjusting or fidgeting throughout the evening (being able to dance freely is a huge thing for me with any dress I wear to an event!), and I really appreciated its cut on a hot and muggy day.

Typically I wear a size 2 dress (or XS if it's not too short of a style), but the size 2 in this was incredibly small and with no give in the fabric, impossible to make work. Had to go to my back-up in the size 4, and even then it took a bit more pull than expected to get over my very narrow, very straight hips. Not the best option for ladies with any sort of hips or curves, I'm afraid. Once on though, the romper was comfortable, even with the all-over sequin detailing. Normally I'm not one for sequins as I find that most dresses (or rompers, in this case) with sequins wind up being horribly scratchy wherethey rub against your skin. Luckily that wasn't the case with this romper! I did wind up wearing a black camisole underneath since I was celebrating the New Year with my boyfriend, his family, and all of their family friends and it was not the time or place for lots of cleavage. Double-sided tape recommended if you do go without a camisole as the V's quite deep in the front. Stood out from the crowd of preppy, brightly colored Florida crowd in this romper and got plenty of compliments. All photos from the evening are from the chest up, so not the best for sharing, unfortunately.

Normally I wear a size 2 in dresses, but the bodice of this dress ran small and so I had the wear the size 4 I ordered as my back up size. The mid-calf length was perfect on me as I'm 5'8", but I can definitely see how this dress wouldn't work for someone shorter than about 5'5". Loved having pockets, and the cut in general, however I found that the fit under the armpit area to be very tight, to the point where I was sore around this area the next day. Granted, I did quite a bit of dancing, but that was the one downside of this dress I'd say. Other than that, I got a ton of compliments and was really happy with my choice of this dress.
