I am attending a formal wedding this summer and wanted to try this dress before committing, as I have to fly to it, and I kind of wish I had had a reason to wear it the weekend that I tried it on. It feels so luxurious with the weight of the fabric and the POCKETS make it just a spectacular find. As a 5'3" petite person going to a wedding with dancing, I also wanted to get something that was "midi" length but was slightly worried that a midi would be like an awkwardly short maxi on me. This was not an issue with this dress at all - just makes you feel super elegant. I ordered a 0 and backup 2 for sizes and didn't even try the 2 on because the 0 was a perfect fit (which is my regular size). I can see why some people said they had to pin the straps to be shorter but I didn't have that issue, although you could feel that they could slip off if you were moving around a ton maybe. I think I'm just going to risk it though. Would definitely recommend this dress and about to place my rental for the wedding! SO excited to wear this!

Honestly, this gown was so dreamy and I wish that I was a bit taller and could have worn it! I am 5'3" with good posture and even with 4 inch heels I was worried about wearing it to a garden gala event that I attended (on a day where it was also cold and raining in the PNW) and so didn't end up wearing it. However, I was blown away with the quality of the material and how beautifully this fit which is why I've given 5 stars despite not being able to wear it. I ordered a size 0, which I am pretty reliably, and it did not feel too tight around the ribs (which can happen in some dresses) and was just really comfortable. I could see being if you have a slightly shorter torso, the straps being annoying but it wasn't something that concerned me when trying it on. If you are a bit taller, I would 1000% recommend this dress to feel like the belle of the ball in. And the dramatic back was fun too.
