The ruffles added the right amount of detail. The dress is form fitting so you might want to wear spanx to have a smooth silhouette.

This is a great jacket for work.
I love the ruffles. I think I ordered a size too big. I was worried that I might not be able button it because I have a full bust but I had no problem.

I love the red lace against the black fabric.
I thought this dress came with a belt but it didn't so I used one I had. This wasn't a deal breaker, but please note a belt is not included. There is a lot fabric to belt, but it's not noticable.
