Sweet simplicity in black
Fit was great. I rented this as a backup for date night (our shared birthday dinner). The smocked back gave the top give which I need in the bust right now. Had it not been a backup the 8 probably would have been better, but it was great as a last minute choice. I'll rent it again and may buy it given the chance. I only took away one star for the fabric. It's not the softest.

Beautiful dress for my one year anniversary and our friends' wedding!
I have a very short waist. I am 5'1.5", 135lbs. Curvy, but proportionate. The only hang up I had was the shoulder size. I have pretty narrow/small shoulders (don't forget the short waist!) and that meant I had to pull the dress down so I wouldn't have a weird extra fabric issue at the shoulder area. Of course, the size four fit perfectly in this area, but was too tight in the hips. All this means is I had some more decolletage than I would normally show off. I sent that selfie to my husband (he was in the wedding party) and he said it looked classy and not at all over exposed. I would say this dress runs slightly large and if I had been able to take care of the 7-8 pounds I was hoping to lose before this event, the 4 would have fit like a glove. No one thought to take any photos of us standing like a normal couple, so I have my selfie and several photos showing the dress in action while I was dancing to our wedding song. The length was a little lower than mid-calf, but the exposed lace makes this a nice length for any height. The lining was comfortable and not too heavy, but this dress does have some weight on it with the lace. The fabric is substantial, but not too heavy. It gives structure to the dress that works well. I would rent this one again for sure. In a size 4 when I am at my goal weight. :)
