I'm between a 6-8, but I wore the 6. The waist button-up is stretchy fabric, so you have some room. I received a lot of compliments on this dress. I wore it to a family member's celebration of life event that was indoor/outdoor.

I wore the medium and it fit great. The tie waist lets you cinch it to your preference. The fit is loose and very comfortable, but I wouldn't consider it boxy at all (I hate boxy clothes). I wore this dress to a casual family barbecue while visiting Kansas City in the 100 degree heat (plus humidity). It was so comfortable for that weather, that I wished I could have worn it my entire trip. The next time I'm in that humid weather, I plan to rent this dress, or a similar one, again.

I received lots of compliments when I wore this dress. A week after I wore this dress, people were still coming up to me and telling me how much they loved the dress, even people I rarely otherwise interact with at work. It is brightly colored and seemed to also brighten the mood (in a rainy city!). I wore this to work and to a baby shower. At the baby shower, almost everyone else was in jeans, and I didn't feel overdressed.
