This could have been a keeper...
...if it had arrived in pristine condition. Gorgeous color. Smart neckline. Interesting pattern. Heavy-enough wool. But it wasn't. So back it went.

Ideal for a work day that began in the dark and ended fifteen hours later...
This piece did it all. Dropped a friend's pup at day care. Spoke with kiddos' family members. Met with a principal, an assistant principal, and a site supervisor. Had lunch with my best friend. FaceTimed my grown daughter. Graded essays. Chatted with friends. Breakfast for dinner with my partner. Perfect for all of it and crisp, pretty, easy. Gorgeous hand to the wool cotton blend. I even found a way to ignore the buttons.

Ideal for March.
I wore this as a coat to work; gloves, a scarf, and boots are all that peeked out. Then, over a weekend, I wore it with two different hoodies (one a red cashmere zip up cardigan, the other with my grown daughter's neighborhood-repping, athletic, poeket-ed pull over). Substantial, fitted, cozy.

When I learned that one of my oldest friends would be in town...
... I figured we would do the usual: see art, make chat, sip coffee. This dress seemed like a perfect pick. I wore it to school over a sheer-leaning tee and dark jeans, but kept it open. Other reviewers shared it might be too big on top and narrow on the bottom. It would have been fine over leggings or tights, but seemed to hang oddly over jeans. The wool and cotton blend was fantastic the perfect weight for warming weather. The plaid, shot through with metallic thread, was memorable.

Perfect for a college visit with eighteen of my favorite ninth graders...
...a kid's older brother, and two generous alumni. This merino wool sweater is double thick, soft, and gorgeous. I sized up-up to be able to wear it over a couple of layers, wore it over jeans with a wool cap and gloves, and was snug despite temperatures in the thirties. Easy. Cozy. Tidy. Fun enough to throw on under a long wool jacket for dinner, and unexpectedly versatile enough for a thirty six hour trip to New England.

I was wrong. This dress. It arrived last night. I wore it to happy hour right out of the RTR bag, over a thin, long sleeved tee and jeans. Then, I wore it over a tank for a stay at home queer-femme-get-it-done day in, followed by over jeans and under a polka dot cardigan to run errands. US sizing is tricky for me. I'm usually a XS, sometimes a S when I want more wiggle room. I rented this in S but probably should have trusted that skimming meant skimming and sized down to a XS.

Perfect for twenty four hours in York, Maine... My partner and I had modest plans: donate some furniture, find thrift store linens, drink coffee at the ocean. This sweater was perfect for all of the above. My grown daughter called it “Darth Vader-y, but in a good way.” I agree. Warm. Densely woven. Familiar. In charge looking. Easy over a cashmere tunic, then over a sheer shirt, then in lieu of a robe, over a Red Sox tee. Also excellent for a long car ride. It may even make an appearance at jury duty.
