This dress needs to fit like a glove so I sized down. I'm normally a 6 but got the 4( 8 in UK sizing). The 6 was too roomy in the hips and had weird points sticking out at the hips. It is a stretchy fabric that needs to fit very snug. Also, you definitely need to have a sticky bra (Nubra) to pull your boobs inward or else you have your boobs coming out the sides. It also shows everything so wear spanx!

It fit well and was flattering but I felt like I couldn't lift my arms and dance because I was scared my nips would slip out the side. I should have worn that tape everyone talks about. Beautiful back of he gown though!
