Loved it, bought it
Gosh, what a classic piece. I loved it so much that I actually bought the dress!! I fit into both the S and M but went with M as it was more comfortable. I’m 5”5, 140lbs, 36D. I wore this to a Christmas dinner at a NYC restaurant with my family. The color is navy- not black as appears on the model pictures. I styled it with black boots.

A RTR favorite!
This is my 2nd time ordering this style dress- both times for Christmas Day dinner. I'm 5'5" and currently 140lbs, 36D. I wore the size 4 and was just comfortable enough. Any larger of a bust or waist line, I would have wanted the 6. The chest is definitely low and shows more than I typically prefer, but overall the dress is WOW WOW WOW that I ignore that one minor detail. The pockets are awesome. The skirt is a heavy fabric. Don't rent this in warm weather climates.

Wish It Had Worked For Me
Waist down, dress was A+. Waist up, it was awful. It felt like it was a bad sewing job. The shoulders didn't align properly, the chest area was very awkward, it was hideous to say the least. I attempted a belt hoping it would help hide some of the top's flaws. I ended up not wearing it. Too bad, it had so much potential.

Classy, beautiful, comfortable!
I LOVE this dress! I rented this for Christmas Day dinner in NYC and it was absolutely perfect. I am a true size 4 and the 4 was a good fit. The top, as you can see, was a little low for me. I'm a 36B. The top of the size 2 dress was more snug and came up a little higher, but the waistline was very tight and would have been uncomfortable. You could easily go braless with this dress, too.

Comfy and cute!
I had a baby 7 months ago and this is THE PERFECT dress for anyone trying to hide a few things here or there! Despite the thin, silky fabric, I was able to wear Spanx without them showing through. I also wore a strapless bra. At the time I wore this dress I weighed 144lbs, 5'5", 34D, 28" waist and the small was perfect. I wore flat sandals - no way I could wear heels, it would have been off the ground. I got so many compliments on this dress and it was very comfortable to wear.

Perfect dress to hide the imperfections!
First the bad: BOTH dresses I ordered were damaged upon arrival. (RTR has some seriously incredible customer service though!) The damage on both dresses was a tear in the delicate, lace top. Thankfully, on the one I wore, the hole was in the armpit. Buyer beware - your dress may likely show up damaged. It's such a shame because it's a FABULOUS dress. I think RTR needs to inspect this one better. The company did give me a % off a future purchase AND credited me some money from this order. Like I said, exceptional customer service. Now the good: This dress is fabulous. I wore it 7 weeks after having a baby and, with spanx, felt so sexy!!! It masked everything from cellulite to back fat and a jiggly tummy! I wore a 46L and at the time was 5'5" and 158lbs. The L was great - I wore 3" heels and it still swept the floor nicely. No bra needed, not even pasties. There's sort of a built-in bra. You need to step into the dress and shimmy it up and it's not easy but once it's on, it fits like a glove. I would order this one again had it not been for the fear of having it arrive damaged again.

A beautiful statement dress!
Overall, this is a fabulous dress and very comfortable! You just need to know a few things before you get it! -You cannot wear a bra of any kind with this dress. Between the mesh shoulder, mesh belly and low back, it just won't work. I wore petal pasties and you couldn't tell! -The sleeves are bell sleeves and shorter than most L/S dresses. Not a big deal, just FYI. -The slit is high. If you wear spanx, you need thong or brief spanx. -The length was longer than I expected. I wore 3" and it was sweeping the floor. -I am a true size 6 and I wore the small. I liked the way the medium felt in the waist and hips but it was way too big in the bust and arms and shoulders. There was so much extra fabric.

Comfortable, beautiful dress!
If you want to look a size smaller, rent this beauty! It's very form fitting so I wore Spanx under it. I was worried about my boobs hanging out the top but as you can see that wasn't a problem! This is a classy dress perfect for any fancy party. I wear a size 6 and wore a small. I wouldn't recommend a small for someone who's an 8.

The perfect black tie dress!
I'm in between a 4 and a 6 and could easily have worn either but in the end, I liked the overall fit of the 6. I'm 5'5" and wore 2-3 inch heels. The regular length dress was way too short with heels. The front of the dress has a slit that's hard to see in the photos but there is a short above-the-knee liner under the dress. I wore Spanx and had no issues with them showing or sticking to the dress fabric. This dress is very comfortable!

WOW dress!
I got so many compliments on this dress - the sleeves add just enough flair and the nice cut on the legs are a beautiful detail too. It made for the perfect dress for a wedding! I ordered a size up from what I typically wear but found the hips could have been taken in just a smidge if it was a dress I owned.

Beautiful, chic, sexy
I didn't end up wearing the dress - I needed the next size up (still losing baby weight) but wanted to review it because it's absolutely beautiful and I plan to order it again for an upcoming event. It's perfect in the hips & shoulders & back side but I found it a smidge tight in the chest. It's loose enough in the belly so you don't have to suck in but form fitting enough that it doesn't look like a potato sack. The dress material is thinner than expected but not cheap. Comfortable.
