LOVE this! Jonathan Simkhai designs are always so flattering and this was no different, paired with heeled doc martens and got tons of compliments! The waist and sleeve length are soooo flattering, I looked absolutely snatched! I only detracted a point because the slit comes up a bit high - I safety pinned it together to make it more weather/work appropriate. Also note it's more of a deep green than black (I liked it either way but thought important!!)

Really love this, I will def keep for a while! It's super comfy and stretchy (so if you're typically a M you could probably go S). There's a nice hidden zipper in the back which I loved because it prevented my from getting makeup all over it. I rented for a work conference and it was perfect - just dressy enough but still casual, and chic enough for an impromptu dressy dinner. 10/10 recommend!!

Rented this for a summer black tie optional wedding and I loved it so much I almost bought it just to wear lounging around and drinking wine. STUNNING. The top was a bit stretched out so my boobs were a bit of a liability, so get your sticky boobs ready, but ultimately it wasn't a big problem (yay alcohol) and I got tons of compliments. I wore this a wedding at a yacht club in late September, so it was the perfect bridge between summer and fall. I am OBSESSED with this dress!! It's very memorable and a statement that is somehow still understated. When it arrived, it was clearly more of a spring fabric, so I layered a grey turtleneck underneath and paired it with leopard print booties - holy chic i got so many compliments!! What's more, it was so comfortable. It definitely runs a little on the bigger side, so if you're in between sizes you can go smaller. I could have done the smaller size but this still worked and looked great. It does get a little wrinkly but would easily come out with some downy wrinkle release or a quick iron in the skirt. I would have kept it for a while but it's so memorable that I decided to send it back so I could swap it, and then rent it again later!

As we speak i am wearing this for the first time and I wish I could buy it immediately!! It is sooo beautiful and looks so chic. My pic doesn't do it justice because I was in a rush and don't have a full length mirror... But truly I am obsessed and will be hanging onto this for a while! The small fit me perfectly and I am usually a 4/6, but yes it's roomy and that's how it's meant to fit. I should also mention that it's about 45 degrees here in New York and I'm wearing this without another outer layer, and it's quite warm!! I think any colder than this and you'd need another layer, but it works as a blazer for a cold office or an outer layer AND blazer on warmer days or for fall/spring. Loooovvveee!!!!

Love the pattern of this and was excited to wear but I will not end up wearing it. It fits SO TIGHT! A 6 on me is usually exactly true to size or a little big, and this was not only snug in the waist, but I can't lift my arms up at all and the slip underneath is SUPER tight. If you are really little and have narrow hips you could probably wear this, but i would not recommend for someone with even the tiniest amount of curves. Not a great quality either - you can really tell the difference between this and the higher end items.

I love this dress! I wanted to get outside my comfort zone a bit, and this dress was perfect. It's VERY true to size, this is a 4 to the T, but definitely has room in the sleeves and skirt but the bodice zips RIGHT up nice and snug. I would recommend sizing up if you are unsure just because of how close the zipper zips up, and it's a loose fit anyway. It's definitely more low cut than I anticipated, I still wore it to work but my work environment is VERY casual. Perfect for a casual day at the office if you need to go somewhere after work. So cute!!!

I love this dress so much. I'm probably going to buy it! It's incredibly comfortable, warm, and can be worn with different shoes and accessories to dress down for work/up for a cold night out or informal date. It wears beautifully. I think I got a size too big, it definitely has lots of give and hung a little loose on me, but not so much that it detracted from the look. Would definitely say that if you're in between sizes (I'm between a S/M or 4/6) go a size down. The photo doesn't show that 1) the sleeves have a bit of a bell shape which adds a nice little touch and 2) The slits on the side come up to just about the knee. Totally work appropriate (I work at a start-up, but for a bus-cas environment or casual it would be fine, especially with tights). Love this!!!!

I am totally obsessed with this - it's pretty much as looks (sorry, just moved and I don't have a full length mirror yet otherwise I would post a pic). It's a great subtle statement piece for work, I just wore it over a grey long-sleeved tee with jeans, brown leather booties, and some gold jewelry. It's definitely boxy and wears like a short, wool trench coat but without sleeves. It's "true to size" if you go in assuming that means it's going to hang pretty loose and boxy, but it's meant to. I loved this top! I got a few compliments. For me it was a bit tight through the shoulders/arms, but other than that it's pretty true to size and has a great fit that is a little slimmer than most tops of this style. The buttons also start mid-chest so you don't get the flapping-open that you do when there are buttons closer to the top, which made it look much more sleek. Very on trend and a great color! I'd probably size up next time but I have pretty broad shoulders and more muscular arms so if that isn't the case this is definitely true to size. Not a showstopper, but a great piece for spicing up the every day work wardrobe!
