Amazing dress! Comfy, and has pockets!

This dress is gorgeous, and made me feel like a million bucks. The pockets are awesome. Things to consider if you plan to rent this dress : 1) I'm 5'7" plus half an inch (ie between 5'7" and 5'8"), and the back on the regular length dress is just touching the ground when I don't wear any shoes, and with flats on it is ~quarter inch off the ground. This worked fine for me, but ladies who are taller than me or plan to wear any heels higher than 2 inches should probably get the long length. 2) I think also the regular length had a shorter torso? Or maybe I just have a really long torso. Either way, the boob area of the dress was a bit high for my actual boobs, and although the fabric is stiff enough that you can't really tell just looking at it, it felt slightly funny since my boobs were a little squished yet there was extra space in the dress above my boobs. Perhaps the long length dress would have proportioned the boob area in the right position? Something to consider if you have a longer torso. 3) I am 36B, 150lb, hourglass shadow, and normally between a size 6 and 8. I could fit into both the 6 and 8 for this dress with 6 being tighter around the waist and 8 being a bit too loose in the chest/armpit area. I wore the 6 and just didn't eat as much food... 4) the flare of the dress makes it ever so slightly more cumbersome to dance in, and thickness of fabric means you might feel warm after dancing. On the flip side, everyone else was cold after dark but I felt fine :D Despite the fit not being perfect, I still loved this dress and wanted to keep it!!!

Too baggy, not flattering

Even with 4L, it was too baggy at the chest, and not flattering at the waist and hip either. Slit looks nice on the model, but in real life when standing still this just looks like a plain black dress with few details to make it attractive. Perhaps an even smaller size would have worked? Would not rent again... Good thing this was the back up dress.

Classic black dress for formal event

Wore to a 'prom' themed event. Fit was just fine, I could fit also the 6L but it would probably show food baby after eating dinner, so I went with the 8L. I am 5'7" and was concerned about Regular length vs Long length. If you plan to wear heels that are 3in or higher, go with the Long. With the 8L and 3 inch shoes, my shoes were just covered by the front of the dress, but I wasn't tripping over it. The train in the back was a little bit longer, which was ok. If you want to show your shoes more, or if you want to wear flatter shoes then maybe go with the Regular. The photo color is a bit off, in real life this is a true black dress, very satiny feel. I wore wearing strapless bra with spanx bottoms; I think one of those stick on push-up bras might have worked better, but I coudln't find mine... The material is pretty thin and clingy, so without spanx there will be more lumps. Just a personal opinion, this dress is not super stand-out amazing in cut or in color, it is a pretty standard look. But that makes it great to try out accessories or more colorful makeup! I didn't go crazy on accessories but I think a bright red lip color really helped take the look from meh to classy.

Subtle sexy, very flattering

I absolutely loved this dress, and wanted to keep it. It is a body con, so probably you can fit in a size smaller than you normally wear. It hugged my body in the right places and the design was simple and subtle, so it really emphasizes and draws attention to the body shape rather than the dress (in a good way!). The length is pretty short, like a mini, but it's tight so I didn't feel like in danger of flashing anyone; also the more conservative neckline makes it so the overall feel of the dress is more classy than trashy. I would feel comfortable wearing this to a wedding too. The fabric is rather thicker since it's super stretchy, but I didn't find it to be uncomfortable. I had no problems dancing in the dress, and it did not ride up either. LOVED LOVED LOVED, and would rent again (or I might have to go buy my own...) In the first photo you can see the print on the dress better, but if you wear it to a club it won't be very visible. The second photo is what it would look like not under direct bright light.

Neutral colors great for accessorizing or dressing up for more formal event

Wore this to a party in Vegas, and felt good in it. As others have said, Herve will feel super tight but it will stretch out as you wear it just the right amount. I don't think i could add anything that hasn't already been said about this dress. I did not wear a bra with it, and I don't think spanx is needed either. This dress could also potentially be dressed up for a slightly more formal event such as a company dinner party, since the colors are neutral and the length is longer (hit just above knee, so not a mini). I got this dress at the Rent the Runway boutique store in the Cosmo in Vegas, and the experience was fantastic. The girls/guys there were very helpful in helping me pick out dresses, and were patient as I tried on a bunch. If you go kind of later at night there are less people and a better chance at getting a walk in spot.

Perfect LBD that is sexy without being trashy

Some other reviewers mentioned the weird little flare at the hem of dress around the hip/thigh area. I agree that this part is a little bit strange and you can't really see it in the model photo, which is why it got 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, the mesh top and low back make this dress very sexy but without being trashy. The length is mid-thigh on me, which was OK for the party I was going to. Any shorter and it would have been too short. The hip area was tight on me though, and I did have to keep pulling the hem down so that my butt didn't show, especially while dancing. Still, overall this was a good dress for the occasion.

Pretty dress, but didn't pop

I got this as a backup dress because the size I usually wear for the other dress was not available, and so I only got one size. I was afraid it wouldn't fit, so I got this one as backup. Thankfully the other one fit just fine, so I didn't wear this. This dress is pretty, and it's nice. The fit was a little on the large side for a B chested me (I am normally between 6 and 8, but the 6 on this one felt a little empty in the chest, I probably could have gone with a 4), and overall the style was just very ordinary and wasn't really what I was looking for in a party dress. I really thought the color would be more vibrant, and that it this dress would pop a little more. I guess the peplum style maybe isn't for me - I already have wide hips, so a hiphugging number does more justice to my hourglass figure, whereas this one kind of made me look a little too straight, and with no booty. Overall a nice dress just not quite sexy enough for the event I was going to. I think this dress would be perfect for a wedding or date though, on the right body shape.

Gorgeous dress that flatters all the right places

Rented this for a Church wedding because the front is conservative and the length is at the knee which is more modest. I wore a jacket for the ceremony in the Church, which covered up the revealing back. Then for the reception, just take off the jacket, and voila, sexy sexy low back turning heads all night! Sorry I forgot to take photos of the dress, too busy having fun. Also the color is darker than the photo looks - it is more of a deeper pink, like the color of the star rating buttons on this webpage. But I liked that, because my skin looks better in deeper colors. The cut of the dress is also flattering, with the ruching hiding any bumps at the belly; the knee length hides any fat thighs and paired with heels it shows off your legs very nicely. As to size, I consider myself hourglass shape, with slightly wide hips and narrow waist. The dress fit the shape very well and didn't make shoulders look too wide - rather it balanced out my shoulders and hips really nicely. The size 6 fit, I could have worn it, but it was more prone to show panty lines, and I was too lazy to wear shape underwear, so I opted for the roomier 8. The fabric has quite a bit of stretch, which means it will likely conform to many body types. Definitely a dress that I will return to again in the future!

Dress was too large

It was last minute, so I didn't get to chat with a fit specialist, but since others said it was true to size, I ordered my usual sizes, 6/8. When it arrived even the 6 was too large! The bust area was an OK fit (I'm 36B), but the waist and hip area were much too poofy. The straps also threatened to slide off my shoulder if I moved too much. I also tried cinching in the waist with a belt, but that gathered too much material. I get that the bottom is flared out for design, but ultimately it just made me look heavy at the bottom. The length was fine - just above the knee. Neckline is a little bit low but still OK for a wedding. The fabric of the dress and make quality etc were beautiful though, and I can see it being very flattering on someone with a different body type. Others looking to order this dress, I think it would fit you best if you are NOT hourglass shaped but rather quite straight, because I felt that the waist area would have been more accentuated if I went for a smaller size but also had a smaller chest to fit the smaller size...
