I rented this Lhuillier for a Parisian-themed bridal shower (seemed fitting) and was SO thrilled with how beautiful it was! I normally wear size 4 or 6 dresses but I was nervous about fitting into the sheath shape of this dress because my hips are wide compared to the rest of my frame. I was delighted that although the 4 was very snug, both the 4 and the 6 fit! I ended up wearing the 6 for the event itself because it was a more comfortable, though I wish I had worn the 4 because it looked better on me. My only complaint was how difficult the zipper was to zip and unzip all the way! At first I couldn't fit into the 4 because I had unknowingly not fully unzipped it! But overall, I am absolutely in love with this dress. I can't tell you how many people complimented it and asked where I got it! It was also nice to inform people that it was not, in fact, two beautifully paired separates, but rather one cohesive dress! I wish I could have kept it, that's how much I loved it. This is my second Lhuillier dress rental this year, and probably won't be my last!

I jumped at the chance to rent a Monique Lhuillier gown! I had a winter formal to attend and I couldn't get this bold floral print and stunning color out of my head. I tend to run between a 4 and a 6 with dresses so I rented both just in case. The 6R was way too large in the bodice, so I went with the 4R for my event. The biggest thing to be aware of for this dress is that the bodice does tend to run large. I'm a curvy B cup who never has problems filling the top of a dress, but this dress was an exception! I actually had a friend loosely stitch the straps tighter at the shoulders to allow it to sit snugly on my torso. But I am happy to report that the waist, while tight, is still comfortable and allows eating/moving/dancing. And I agree with another reviewer who says it's very forgiving in the tummy area! Being as short as I am (5'1" on a good day) I also worried about the dress length but it fell perfectly and even allowed a little peekaboo of my shoes where the hem is shorter in front. Aside from the loose top half of the dress which is fixable with some assistance (either bra inserts or tightening the straps somehow), the side zipper is also VERY difficult to zip up. It takes real effort. Otherwise though, this dress is absolutely stunning. You feel like the whole world is your red carpet when you wear it. And the POCKETS! So wonderful for cell phone and other essentials. I had a comfortable elegant confidence about me all night and received so many compliments. It's such a special gown and I am extremely happy with my rental experience!

Unfortunately a massive snowstorm in the days leading up to my formal event prevented delivery of my dress. I had to scramble and find one at Macy's on the morning of the formal. However, the RTR staff were SO exceptionally understanding and apologetic, even though the weather is clearly out of their control! They gave me a full refund and a 50% off discount to use for the future as compensation. I am so happy with my experience that I'm planning to rent again soon--here's hoping the snow holds off next year!
