My back up size in this dress became unavailable and I received an email the day before delivery was supposed to take place. I was panicking, but RTR shipped me 2 replacement dresses for free. This long sleeved wonder fit true to size. For back up sizes I'd recommend the next size up compared to your normal size. I received compliments all night on the color and style of the dress and it was comfortable. The laced sleeves and higher neckline give it a classy appeal and the cut out and length make it just the right amount of sassy. I rented this dress for a wedding - my first as the officiant. I wanted something classy and elegant, but not too boring - all per instructions of the bride. I am normally a 4 and rented the 40L. I am only 5'5'' but I wore 4" heels - this dress fit like it was made for me! It was regal and for a wedding at the Empire Hotel Rooftop in NYC it was perfect! The material was so comfortable I may have been wearing pajamas. I was nervious about the slit being too much for a wedding, but as I was standing under the archway guiding the bride and groom through their vows the dress hung to the floor and you couldn't even tell there was a slit. When I sat it was easy to drape it over my lap and when it was time to dance it was the perfect amount of fun. As my 2nd rental this one tops my list. I was so sad I had to send it back and even sadder that because I have pictures in it, I probably can't rent it again! Way to go RTR - I'm officially hooked!

I typically wear a 4 and I rented a 4 and a 6. I ended up wearing the 4 because of the awkard strapless side. I was afraid that the 6 would lead to a show I didn't want to put on if ya know what I mean. Boob tape didn't to the trick because of the fabric so I Improvised and wore the strap you hang the dress from as a mini strap and used my hair to cover it up. It was a bit snug but you couldn't tell because the rouching was so flattering. Sitting on low stools and not revealing anything was a challenge, but probably no different than any other dress. I wore this to an intimate house party with close friends so it ended up being amazing, but if was for a more formal affair I think I would have been upset with the extreme awkardness of the strapless side.
