The dress itself does run slightly large, but the belt that comes with it runs true to size, so down-sizing may result in the belt not fitting. I wore this to a Navy Ball, so a conservative, formal affair. I was worried about showing too much skin, but the back wasn't as low as I thought-it didn't even hit the small of my back. And the V-cut front wasn't a very deep V, and I used body tape to keep everything in place. It was beyond classy and I had several women stop me just to compliment the dress. Cut wise, it's was very comfy, loose enough to be comfortable yet still show your womanly shape. I have a small chest and I was worried about being engulfed in the top, but it worked out wonderfully. I actually think if you're very large chested this dress might be a little more sexy/scandalous. Over all, I loved it. Would wear it again if it wasn't such a memorable dress!

My back-up selection became unavailable at the last minute and I had to hurry and make a second selection, so my options were limited. This dress caught my eye and in person, it really is a lovely dress- it just wasn't a good fit/cut on me. I'm pear shape, smaller bust and was wearing this to a formal Military ball. RTR was kind enough to send me two sizes in this due to my order getting messed up last minute- so I received both the 4 and 6, neither fit great. There was ample room in the hips in both sizes, which is usually the area dresses like to cling- but the bodice area simply didn't fit me very great. It was very difficult to zip the 4 (zipper kept jamming) so I moved to the 6, which had the same issue. It was snug and felt like it was digging into me. The empire waist allowed for a roomy hip area, but the top was just okay- it didn't wow myself or my husband. I think a more athletic build would have better luck with this dress, which again, is very nice in person- just not for me.

This was my back up dress for a wedding. It is stunning in person and I was heart broken I couldn't wear it- it looks like a perfect combo of fun/classy. I'm pear shape, smaller bust, and the reviews said to order a size up- which for me would be a 6, since I normally wear a 4 in this cut dress. The kicker is the lining of the skirt was fitted more like a pencil skirt- there was no give, so while I could get it over my caboose, it looked hooker-tight across my bum. The top was slightly loose (not noticeably so) but I think going up to the 8 would have resulted in the top being too big. While it's recommended for pear shaped gals, I would be conscious of what type of pear you are- if you have a booty, be aware this might be tighter than anticipated. It really is a beautiful dress in person.
